  1. Nice addition, but looks a little short in length, no?
  2. Looks awesome! Getting married on "the mall" this summer. What about the dark rides? The map seems to show the Flying Witch but not Zombie Castle.
  3. Hello! Just curious as to what the crowd levels will be the last weekdays of August. The park is open 10:30-6...not very late. How do you think the lines will be? Doing 10 days in CA...5 at DL, 1 at Knotts, 1 at Universal. Six Flags will likely be a weekday but I'm concerned about the shortened hours. Thanks!
  4. Hello, Does anyone know where I can find a picture of the Six Flags New England skyline from the other side of the CT river? I need something with the river in the foreground and the park skyline in the back. Thanks!
  5. I think since we are in New England it should have been spelled our traditional "Wickid".
  6. Just riffing here, but I see "StormTrack" in there.
  7. Awesome report. I'm going there for the first time next week and pretty much only interested in the dark rides and coasters. Well, also the Fascination Parlor which is a slight obsession for me. I was hoping the place would be charming and a little hoaky as I'm dragging my wife there to spend a full day and she doesn't appreciate these kinds of things as I do. The hardest part was finding a nice hotel to stay at for the night...this little segway is sandwiched in between a 5 star hotel in Pittsburgh and then again in Philly. All the hotels seem far from the park and questionable. Looking forward to give the park a spin and very excited for the Black Diamond. I popped into Rye Playland last weekend and what I consider the holy grail of wonderful cheesy dark rides...I hope these measure up.
  8. This is kind of a base question. I have a SFNE season pass...do the bring a friend free coupons work at other SF parks?
  9. Looks fantastic! Was there any "magic" to the brick wall you go through? One of their early statements said there would be some kind of illusion.
  10. Being a native from New Hampshire I can say that Vermont is nothing but trouble. If you look at the map you can clearly see that it's NH but upside down. Much like a crucifix may be upside down in a house inhabited by a demon. Seriously though, having lived all over the country and been to parks all over the world, Canobie is a gem and I'm sad to see it make news this way. Gov. Magnum Hassan...it's time to install the fence. Not sure why it keeps correcting to "Magnum" despite my efforts to change it to a similar female name.

  12. Get their early. As a non-gated park, you can take a relaxing stroll around the park while it's still quiet before things start to open. It's a great way to see the park without feeling like you're missing out on ride time. Ride the coasters either in the morning or afternoon/evening. The park typically only adds second trains if the line gets to a certain point and typically they don't hit that point until mid afternoon. Once they hit that point, with two trains, the lines fly, but if you get their at the awkward time just before they hit that point (usually around lunch), you might find yourself waiting a bit with only one train running. Hit the log flume... I think it's one of the better non-Orlando ones out there... Great advice. I'll be there on 7/2, down from NH. We'll be leaving PGH in the morning and heading there, so that's a bit of a haul. Any suggestions on hotels in the area? We are kind of Omni, Hyatt, W, or Westin kind of people...best thing I could find was the "Pine Barn Inn"...had some of the best Tripadvisor reviews. Also, anywhere to grab some cocktails mid-day in the area? Nothing worse than a dry park.
  13. It's not. Hasn't been for a couple years now. That's a bummer. I'm going in a few weeks and I thought that was really cool the first time I visited the park.
  14. Does anyone know if the last scene in Noah's Ark is working? The flood gag.
  15. I believe they targeted this area based on the year round activities, beautiful landscape, and proximity to both Montreal, Boston, and New York.
  16. There is concept art out there for a Disney resort in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. Being from New Hampshire I think that would have been a great idea. A huge tourist population year round. Disney White Mountain Resort
  17. The only problem is the "creep factor". It's a legitimate kids park.
  18. I meant as in the names and such in the village area. "Ellen's Ice Cream", The boat name from Jaws 4 "Neptunes Folly". I loved the sponsored ANA airlines map in the queue with the red line from Japan to Martha's Vineyard showing non stop flights from Osaka to Amity.
  19. 3 weeks in Japan and that might have been my favorite day...taking probably 10 rides on Jaws. Such a superior animatronic compared to Orlando. And as a Jaws super fan, the theming and detail around the island was incredible and far better than the U.S. version. I wonder how many Japanese actually understand the references?
  20. What is the theme? It looks like some kind of archeological dig and then you get blown into some Mayan dance party.
  21. Looks awesome! Are there show scenes inside or any effects?
  22. Hello! I'll be in Toronto this weekend and am wondering if Sunday (with the park open until 10) or Monday (open until 8) would be better. Also, how well does the express pass work? Do you have minor waits like at Six Flags or is it generally walk on? Thanks!
