  1. So the poltergeist has always been the poltergeist... We had a coasters called the joker's revenge long ago and it was located where pandamonium is now... It was moved to the six flags new Orleans and still sits there today rotting away... Joker's revenge would do the whole ride with you sitting backwards Yes! That's the one! I remember walking up and seeing that big Joker face! I just got major deja vu from Poltergeist. Maybe I rode it years ago when I was there. Joker looks like a fun coaster to ride going backwards. I know I rode it, just don't remember.
  2. Finally got to visit again after about 20 years. I forgot how pretty this park is. I'm gonna make it at least a yearly trip. Some things were the same as 20 years ago and some were different. I'll spare everyone pics from my broken cell phone camera lens. Here's my run down. Got there at 11am. Went straight to IR. 2 trains, but the 2 back rows of one weren't working. Waited about 15 minutes to ride 2nd back row, the very back had about 7 sets of people waiting and I was too excited to wait. I ride NTxG all the time and thought the first hill wouldn't be as intense. WRONG! I wasn't expecting it to turn slightly. After that first hill all that came out of my mouth was "OMG" and "HOLY SH/T!" That last drop before you go into the tunnel literally took my breathe. I was proud of myself I held my hands up the whole time, even though I felt my life was in danger. I'm in love with this coaster. I actually clapped as we were pulling back into the station, that's how happy it made me. Such a dork. Mall walked to WW. As we're walking up I saw people leaving. Heard tech difficulty announcement but got in line anyways since so many left. Took about 15 minutes and it was going again. After about 4 trains, tech difficulty. Another 15 min and going again. So we get up there and had a choice, front or back. I will 99% of the time choose back, but I chose front. This is a fun fun fun coaster. Start to finish you're all over the place. I felt like I was flying in a few spots. And I held my hands up the whole time. That's a big deal for me when I don't know what to expect. Almost immediately after I regretted not riding in the back though. I wanted to feel the speed. Total wait time 45 min and that's with two 15 min tech difficulties so not too bad. After that just wandered around riding whatever we happened upon. The ride ops on Goliath were very slow. One train and the line wasn't long, and it took 4-5 minutes to get the train out. I ended up in the front bc there was a spot so I jumped on because I was tired of waiting. I thought this would be a lot like the Batman clones, which I think are fun but not a must ride for me, and again I was way off. This ride was intense. Felt faster and the way it whipped me around I got a wee bit scared. Loved it! Supe I had ridden years ago when I last visited. Hopped on back. This ride was rough to me. The last quarter banged my head against the restraints so hard it hurt my ears. Had a small headache after this one. But I got over it. This wouldn't be a must ride if this were my home park. Used my skip the line on Poltergeist, once again slow ride ops and the line was fairly long. I'm ready to get on and we hear tech difficulty. Took about 10 min and it was ready to roll. This ride was kinda boring for me. Lots of twists and what not, but didn't get me going. It was fun, but meh. I like Mr. Freeze better. Did Poltergeist used to be themed after Joker? I feel like I rode it there years ago but it was a different name. Pandemonium was a fun ride as usual, but I didn't have my lid on my sport bottle screwed on right so every time we spun everyone got a root beer shower. The rock quarry was a great backdrop. I thought Hurricane Force 5 was gonna be a corny kiddie, but it was way more disorienting and fun than i thought it would be. I really liked it! Gully Washer was very mild compared to SFOT Roaring Rapids. I think their boats are too high to really get you wet. The water park was a nice break, but it was packed. Knew it would be. Didn't spend too much time there and only rode the water coaster since it had single rider and the lines for everything else were extremely long. I liked it, but it will hurt your butt. Got another ride on IR. 2nd to last row again. It was faster this time since it was later in the day. I can't tell y'all how much I love this coaster. I mean I could, but I'll spare y'all. I wish they would put some of those elements into NTxG. Went to ride WW but they were having problems again and didn't have time to wait and was bummed I missed out on the back row. Every Six Flags should have a Sangerfest Halle. It was nice and cold, great selection of food and plenty of seating. We relaxed in there for a while and took some pics with the Loony Toons characters. Boomerang wasn't running. Wanted to ride for the nostalgia, but maybe next time. Y'all all know Road Runner has been down, still is. I can't say what hasn't already been said about this park. It's just on pointe with the theming and the rock quarry makes it even more special. Great selection of rides.I have to get back here when it cools off to enjoy this park again this season. Here's a pic of me in front of my new BF, IR. First ride of the day and I'm super excited! Me in the middle.
  3. Oh ok, thanks so much! Makes sense now. I got it today bc I'm going to Fiesta Tx this week and didnt want to spend a ton of money feeding my niece and myself, plus I'll use it a lot at SFOT and HH
  4. I upgraded online to diamond back in Feb. I just added on this dining pass today but it's confusing. The brochure says only a Premium dining pass is good at all parks, but when you add on a dining pass on memberships it says basic and deluxe are good at all parks. They did let me do all this online tho.
  5. Hope I can figure it out before then. I don't want to get stuck buying 15 dollar nachos. I'll be like, 'We're having air and ice water for lunch today.'
  6. From the dining pass brochure I downloaded. Says basic and deluxe are good only at your home park From the dining pass brochure
  7. I took a screen shot of the dining pass membership sign up, and there's no option for premium. It does say basic and deluxe valid at every park though.
  8. I upgraded my membership to include the deluxe dining pass. Downloaded the brochure to see what's available on my next visit, and I see there's also a Premium pass and that's good at all parks. I went back and looked at membership sign up and didn't see a monthly option for Premium, but it did say the basic and deluxe were good at all parks. So now im confused. Can anyone that has the dining pass tell me if they had to buy the Premium to use at all parks?
  9. Thank you, yes that helped me. I'll prob just go ahead and add on the dining pass then. Only be an extra 6 bucks a month and I'm 10 min from SFOT and go a few times a month so it'll pay off. We're gonna greyhound it down there (only 40 bucks roundtrip) so really can't bring any food.
  10. Can anyone tell me if there are places to eat outside of the park, within walking distance? Gonna visit next week but not driving, and don't have the dining pass and didn't want to spend a lot on park food. Gonna be with my niece and trying to get by on the cheap. Lol
  11. At SFOT they assign you a seat as you walk into the waiting area for your turn. If they're not doing this here, I can't imagine the cluster f it causes. But even with the assign seating here, on a slow day it's a 30 min wait. Wait times are usually 60+ min on a normal day. I've been lucky the past few times here and caught it after it had an issue and was temp closed (which happens often) and was reopening so got on the first or second cycle. Which makes it a little scarier for me too.
  12. I went out Monday and took a look while there. I must not have the foresight you have, it still looked a mess to me. Big piles of dirt and a ride that was being worked on. I was thinking end of June. Won't it take a while to pour the cement and let it set plus get the queue ready?
  13. Thank you! I'm in Dallas, so familiar with the heat. I can skip the clones there that we have here, I'm sure they're just about the same. Excited for IR, will only be my 2nd time on an RMC coaster and the first with rolls.
  14. I plan on visiting this park next week. Which day do y'all think is better, a Wednesday or a Thursday? And which rides should I hit as soon as it opens? Thanks!
  15. Sooooooo anyone have a guess when it will be ready to roll? I don't want to miss the "ride exclusive! members only because you're so special!" morning since its just too hot when we get deep into summer to ride something that spins like this, for me anyways. So that will probably be my one ride until Fright Fest when it cools down.
  16. It's gonna be up and running? I've looked around and didn't see anything. I'm going if this is true
  17. Y'all got your Diamond cards already? SFOT has yet to get ours. I went Saturday to get a friend in free and left after that. Took 25 minutes just to get in to park my car at 10:30 when it opened. Crazy busy, which I knew it would be. The priority parking is worth the extra each month alone imo. But I'm there 2-3 times a month.
  18. Woah I've been to Schlitterbaun in New Braunsfels a number of times. Never felt unsafe, but does anyone really? Water parks and their rides have never scared me like theme park rides, but now that I'm thinking back I've been injured more at water parks than I ever have at theme parks. Nothing major, just banging your head on a slide or hitting a dry patch and getting scraped or getting a 40 mph enema on the big slides. That indictment was eye opening. If they're still open this summer I'm sure I'll go when I head down to Fiesta Texas. It's a really fun and different park
  19. Just got home from SFOT and saw the POV vid. I'm glad it doesn't spin as much as I thought it would. I can ride, just not a big fan of spins. As far as the speed, we all know things are much faster when you're on it. I'm new here but can someone tell me if Robb does write ups and gives his opinions on new rides?
  20. If you go to sporting events or concerts near SFOT, and they're open that day, you can park in the far back lot and walk to Rangers Stadium or ATT Stadium (Jerry World) so it's a huge bonus with seaseason parking here
  21. Yea I don't like that you have to make a reservation. I live close by and sometimes I'll just go kill a couple of hours and ride a few. The VIP parking never looks full when I've gone.
  22. That was my issue with the membership. SFOT is closed the majority of Jan and Feb. March and April open on weekends except spring break week. And if the weather gets below 40 degrees most major rides are closed and during the summer it's just too damn hot to go. I went ahead and got the membership back in October but happy I did since they're now doing the better levels and I can upgrade.
  23. Did they treat the skip pass like a flash pass or did you get shuffled back a little? And what rides honor the skip pass?
  24. I was thinking about this a few months ago. So I'm not down with the coaster lingo, so bear with me. A steel coaster with a 350-400 foot hill, but 200 feet of it are underground. So you have to go underground to get on, then as you're going up you're outside for 150-200 feet, then when you go down you're back underground, then the next hill same thing. Basically a big steel coaster that's part underground, part outside. Think that would be pretty amazing, but probably impossible.
  25. I'm about to upgrade to Diamond in a few weeks. Waiting to see if they're gonna have a way to upgrade without having to cancel your old membership and start a new one. As far as the skip the line pass, does anyone know if that will include the new Harley Q ride?
