Eeeek Bert, Sept 1st is BAFF. It'll probably be extremely crazy that day. Just eyeball it and see I guess. You should be OK Sunday morning though. On semi busy days I can ride all major rides in a matter of 5 hours. Slow days can knock it out in 3. So with the 2 days combined you could probably get by without a flash pass. Your longest line will be the Riddler pendulum. Even on slow days there's always a wait. Try to hit that one first early Sunday. Take advantage of single rider. I know Joker, Harley, Pandemonium, Superman and La Vibora has them.

Was at the park yesterday. More people than I expected on a Tuesday with school starting, although it is BAFF going on. I was walking up to ride the new HQ and I noticed they were playing the Wonder Woman old school theme song in the sitting area in front of the ride. The only reason I noticed is because I started singing it, catchy tune. Do SF parks give little clues like that? I'd love a Golden Lasso coaster like SFFT got.

Just got done being stuck at the top of a coaster for the first time. Good old Judge Roy Scream stopped just short of the top. We were 2nd to the first seats. After about 30 min we got to walk down. They had us write our names and phone numbers on a sheet. Anyone know if they do something for people that get stuck? I siggested lifetime flash pass, but they laughed at me

Ugh, Blackfish. I'm into animal rights. I don't believe circuses should be using elephants, tigers, etc. I don't eat meat. I think it's disgusting what we do to animals on a daily basis. BUT even I found Blackfish to be very one sided. Most documentaries are so skewed for the audience to see what the filmmaker wants them to see. I don't understand how people don't realize this. I support Sea World and their conservation efforts. They said they're stopping breeding the Orca, what more do people want? They can't be released into the wild. I'm gonna stop because I could go on forever about this subject. I love that Cook won't sell to parks that have substandard care for their animals, but Sea World isn't one of them.

Yea, guess the season long suspension would only work for pass holders. I was just thinking something that would scare/worry folks enough that it wouldn't be worth the risk of taking your cell out on a ride. Maybe a "if you lose your cell on this ride, it's gone we won't look for it" rule would work? -

SFOT has zippered pockets secured on the backs of cars to put your cell, sunglasses, etc as well as bins on their big rides. As far as I know they don't have a problem with people using their cells on the rides. I would HATE to stand in a 2 hour line and not be able to entertain myself. If someone wants to be an ass and use their cell on a ride make the penalty stiff. You're out for the rest of the season. And if you lose your cell, do a once a week sweep and if it's found you have to come back to the park to retrieve it, and you're out for the rest of the season. I understand someone could get hit by a loose cellphone and that's the real reason for these rules though. -
The few times I've been during this summer heat it was still brutal to me. I went on the 11th to ride the new HQ and the heat mixed with spinning made me a little woozy. I greyed out a bit on Titan and that rarely happens. Mr Freeze has THE BEST AC in the park tho, you're right about that. I was born here but this summer has kicked my butt so far, and we're not even to August.

Looks like a fun coaster. I guess I don't have any beef with the Pittstains seeing as I'm a Giants fan, I'd no problem with that theming. I wish they would've named it "Polamalu's Hair" instead though. The track kinda sorta looks like it. -
It's been clearing out around 6pm on these hot days. Which doesn't make sense to me. Semi heavy crowds during the heat of the day, then everyone leaves when it starts to get tolerable. It'll be walk on most rides. I may be out there the 6th later in the day if ya want to meet up. Its the first day of bring a friend free so was gonna take someone. Those days are usually nightmares but it's going 6th-10th and I'm hoping that first day won't be as bad.

I was tagged in a post on FB. Joker was stuck with riders on the lift Monday. It was only a 30 sec video so not sure how long they were up there. I copied the link, let's see if I can do this right. https://m.facebook.com/story.php?story_fbid=196931157647341&id=166008727406251 I would HATE to be stuck in those heavy restraints, in this 100+ heat we've been having for even a few minutes.

I saw the picture above and thought, "Oh cool! Blue rocks!" But found out it's confetti. Anyways, y'all are gonna love this ride. I love the one here at SFOT and imo it's the scariest ride we have. And y'alls is taller! Scuuuuurrrry. But the one we have here is down quite a bit, hope it goes different for y'all. The lighting alone is so eye catching, then you have this big disc swinging. I love these rides. Enjoy!

Just got back from riding Harley Quinn. There wasn't anyone there for the diamond/diamond elite ride times. The first ride had 3 people, the second had 5. We rode once going backwards and once forward. I liked going forwards better, felt faster. We spun the whole time on both rides. Nothing like the videos I've seen of Cyborg at SFGAv. It's a fun ride, not scary at all. Will make you a bit dizzy though. It's fun and worth about a 30 min wait time imo. So Gotham now has a great selection of flat rides, hope we get a new coaster next year. (I took a 30 sec video while we were waiting but don't know how to upload it)

I'll just piggyback on this... and add my 2 cents. The special thing about those Schwarzkopf trains are not only the restraints (which are comfy, not tight yet still keep you in) but more importantly, those seats. They are near-flat (slight depression in the middle) and not grippy. This enables you to slide around laterally on curves, sort of like a classic wood coaster. All while still having an individual lap bar, and no seat divider. It is steel coaster perfection to me, all designed around... what, 1975? I ride Shockwave at SFOT almost every time I'm there, which is 3-4 times a month, and I HATE those seats and restraints. The seats are hard and the metal restraint always leaves a few small bruises on my upper thighs. I do like how you're not stapled in, but a little padding on the part that goes across the top of your legs would make a huge difference to me when you get thrown up into it.

Sorry I don't know the answer to that question. I just wanted to advice you to wait and see how the crowds are before investing in a flash pass. I was out there Monday July 2nd and there was a 1 to 2 train wait on all major rides. And they were having the Fourth of July celebration extras and fireworks and it just wasn't busy. In 3 hours I rode all the major rides and had time to sit down and take a break and eat.

I think I've found out I'm just not a huge fan of coasters that corkscrew, loop, barrel roll and helix all in one round? They're fun, and I'll ride them, but they don't give me the butterfly in stomach/floating feeling I like. I think I'm more of a hilly up and down coaster fan. I'll skip Titan at SFOT most of the time because after the first big hill there's not much to it. You don't get the floating feeling. Then the helixes just make you feel like crap. I'll skip our Batman ride at SFOT most of the time as well. But, for whatever reason, Goliath was fun to me and I'd ride that every time. (Sorry I don't know all the correct terminology) Oh I'm coming back for a ride on the back of WW.
