  1. For KK, Intamin used the layout of TTD to create just a different colored ride with a hill, the trains have no more seats than the ones on TTD, it doesn't matter how many trains it has, it has a crappier theme, though, it has brakes where there shouldn't be brakes, the dual loading station adds nothing to the efficiency of the ride, and the front seat on TTD is raised and KK's isn't. You're right! it isn't a copy, it's a downgrade!
  2. When TTD opened, the press was all over it. It came out on a bunch of TV channels and yahoo was swarming with pictures and videos. When KK opened, the news announced it once and yahoo didn't get pics and videos until the ride was 3 months old.
  3. The roll backs add excitement and more thrill to the ride. While you're going to the top. you hope either that the train will or will not roll back. TTD used to not roll back either because it would always overspeed. When the rollbacks started, the ride just got more exciting.
  4. besides the logos, KK's trains are plain. TTD's trains are pointed and have fins in the front like a real dragster. They used to have tires and spoilers in the back. SF didn't even try to do anything like that. it wouldn't really fit with a jungle theme to put anything special on the trains. I'm not saying that KK isn't the tallest and fastest roller coaster. That's a fact. I am, however saying, that Kingda Krap doesn't count because it is a COPY. Copies suck. It's like atiques. If it is the original, it is worth a lot more than an exact copy of it. i don't care if they added a hill. The end isn't really the best part.
  5. They roll the train back into the station to ask the riders if they want to get off. During this process, they have to move every train back one or two blocks. then they send the train back out and that resets the system. Kind of annoying, but worth it if it happens.
  6. I really like how they underestimate the launches on them. Xcelerator: suppoed to be 82 in 2.3 sec. but ended up being only 2 sec., SR: supposed to be 72 in 2 sec. but ended up being in 1 sec., TTD was supposed to be 120 in 4 sec. nut ended up being in 2.8. Kingda Krap was supposed to be 128 in 3.5 sec., the promo video showed it being 3 sec., but it is actually 4 sec. That was the letdown that ruined it all.
  7. On TTD you can look down and see Millennium Force and other rides in the park and lake erie. On KK you look down and you see the parking lot. It really sucks.
  8. Top Thrill Dragster has theming that Kingda Krap can't live up to. TTD's theming fits better into the ride and KK's doesn't even say anything. Drag racing is much better than getting lost in the jungle. The whole theme of drag racing is QUICK SPEED. Where in a jungle theme is a launch to 128 mph? It just doesn't fit. I could understand a lifthill coaster, but this is ridiculous. That's why KK doesn't count for me (except in my track record). I still consider TTD the tallest fastest coaster in the world. It is much better, too.
  9. Has anybody seen Kingda Krap roll back?
  10. TTD rolls back several times every day. I've been in a roll back. It's not scary, but it's fun. it's nice to be able to be launched twice! I would not want to get stuck at the top however! http://www.xtremecoastin.com/videos/misc_videos_wmv/ttdstuck_2005.htm TTD actually got stuck in June.
  11. ^^not usually, regularly. (but they keep it to a minimum). It depends on what hotel you stay in, mostly. If you are staying in the back of the park (i.e. Breakers, camper village, etc.), you should run to Dragster first. If it's broken down, go to MF. The lines are not long in the morning because it is far from the entrances. If TTD is running, enjoy! Then just get to the other rides as orderly as you can. If you jump across the park all the time, you could lose some time. If you're staying in a non-peninsula hotel, you should go to the park as early as you can to get in the front of line. Then go to your favorite ride in the front (I would suggest Wicked Twister). TTD will probably break down during the day, so right when you see that it is running, drop what you're doing and go straight to it (if you're close). Otherwise, good luck riding all the rides and enjoy the park.
  12. ^yeah. Rather recently. But that's all I did at the park, pretty much. I only rode the other rides once. I went for a day.
  13. Yeah, Cedar Point can do that to you!
  14. ...How's this: Top Thrill Dragster rocks and Kingda Krap sucks!
  15. I will send all of those to ATARI personally. I'm sure it's much better than a Forum discussion! ^^^I'm sorry if you like KK (no offense or anything)
  16. If you think that was bad, I rode TTD in heavy rain. It felt like getting shot by a million tiny paintballs close range.
  17. Maybe you tear up because it's sad how much better TTD is that KK! When I first went to CP (this summer), I was rather excited to leave Albuquerque. The ride there is too long and I fell asleep. The best part of the drive (from Cleveland) is when you arrive in Sandusky and you're looking for TTD. It is amazing that you can see it over tall trees that far away! It was rather exciting when we were driving by Millennium Force (made a video) and you have to look straight up! When I arraived, TTD was (of course) broken down! When we got in the park, we got in line for Magnum. Before we got to the line, however, TTD ran a test run. So...we got out of line and went over to TTD (which surpising as it may sound, was the opposite of crouded. But we went in early June so you can screw seeing things like that) and got right on! It was the best ride ever! Mostly because my track record only consisted of about 25 steel coasters, mostly from SFMM. It will remain on the top of my list for years to come, though! The trip to CP is by far the best I have ever been on! It is sad to leave! I'm just planning to go back anyway. I wish I lived closer, though!
  18. you never know with new systems!

  20. ^Storm Runner is good because it was the ride to introduce the rocket coaster to inversions. I still like TTD better because of the G's, the speed, and the height. It's fun to be able to look down on all the other rides including Millennium Force. On KK, you get to look down on the parking lot. What fun is that?
  21. Kingda Ka just isn't what it should have been. If they didn't have trims, if it had lapbars, and if the brakes started after the "air hill" was over, I would probably love it. If they hadn't lied about the launch either. They said it would be improved, but instead, it is a little worse than TTD. KK pulls 1.6 G's and TTD pulls 2.2. you can hardly tell the difference on both rides, but it would have been better had they not lied and said the launch would be 0-128 in 3.5 seconds. It turned out to be 4 seconds. Cedar Point lied as well, but in a different way. They said the launch is in 4 seconds, but the launch is only in about 2.8 seconds, which improved my experience on it.
  22. ^How did it make you bleed (or is that sarcasm)?
