  1. On Tuesday we had a plane flight back to San Jose at 4pm. We went to Knott’s Berry Farm during the day and then headed to the airport. This was the first time that we took in almost all the shows at KBF. Here are the pics and the end of our trip. Next trip….Orlando for just after Thanksgiving. Oh well, last photo...See you in Orlando!!!! and embarrassed her... They did a good job. At least I can have a beer at the saloon show. Here we are at another show. I tried my best to take photos with Silver Bullet buzzing by. They ripped on Six Flags a couple times too. The stunt show was neat More theming. Cool Car Then we wait patiently for the rest of the park to open. The only ride running at 10am, or 10:30. The mine train! This pretty much irritated me today. If you aren't going to be open at 10am, then make sure and advertise it on your calendar. WE all know what time Disneyland opens! Some good Halloween theming throughout the park, but I don't need to tell anyone that. Even Snoopy is a Pittsburgh Steelers fan. It must be because he is a pirate....get it? I found it funny that their smashed penny machine still had 2005 as the Halloween Haunt year. The next day, Knott's Berry Farm! Donica did join us, but we didn't get a photo with them. National Sports Bar next to the hotel. Monday night's last stop after San Diego Zoo.
  2. Our plans took us to the San Diego Zoo on Monday. It was only 10 minutes from our hotel and we didn’t think it would be too crowded. The zoo is truly one of the best. Next time down, we are planning on going to the Wild Animal Park. Here are the pics. That's it. I leave you with a shot of a hummingbird. Next up, Knott's Berry Farm. Yep. I'm thinking something is bound to happen any minute here. Such a playful bunch The meerkats were really cool. Happy Family! The baby! Back to the Giraffes! I have never seen one bend down like this before. Gyendolynne's dad help locate the Panda area for the National Zoo in Washington DC. The Panda area. Don't feed the animals, unless you're this guy! I can hear him snoring. Still no family resemblance. Okay, that's twice with the same comment. I will stop now. I liked the gorillas Anyone want to comment on this one? More monkeys Close your eyes kids, nothing to see here... They were actually pretty afraid of it. These guys were "playing" with the feret in the water. We went to see some cats first. Good view from up there. We took the sky ride next to the back of the Zoo. I don't see the family resemblance! Rhinos...You get the picture, it's a ZOO!! Elephants... Brown Bear... Black Bear The new baby giraffe. They say that when a giraffe is born that it falls around 6 feet from the mother and is usually dropped on its head! First shot of the polar bears. Unfortunately this would be the best picture of them all day! This peacock was right above the ticket window where you can purchase the tickets for the ride around the park. We already had our tickets. The entrance, we have arrived! We have arrived and I just wanted to make sure I knew where we parked. Our car didn't have that honking device. The keys are huge, but no honking...go figure! The view from our hotel balcony
  3. Congratulations R&E.
  4. Erik, Your cat does look a little upset to be in that cage. Our cat starts letting out the worst sound once we put her in there too. She really isn't amused. It looks like a great time was had by all. Halloween in Florida looks like so much fun. I love October! The weather is perfect this month too. It is my birthday month also and Halloween has to be my favorite holiday!
  5. Hey Soren, Great pictures and a great Trip Report. It makes me wish I could have been there. We will be heading out next month though. I love Christmas time at the Florida amusement parks. I agree with your comment about Sheikra too. Front seat is a great view, but back seat has some awesome airtime. Did you try them both?
  6. I hope that this finishes it up! I will get the San Diego Zoo and KBF up soon. Couldn't get tickets, so we went to Dave & Busters instead. Almost got into a lot of trouble here...I wonder why... Alright, lets go to the Steelers v. Chargers game! Hi Panda. We'll see real ones tomorrow. See, there is Gyendolynne riding all alone. I know it looks like we rode in the same car, but we were told it couldn't take both of our weights. I had to ride by myself! Good theming around the Safari ride. Gyendolynne like R2-D2 I was a little too tall to take him on. Insert Star Wars comment here. Gyendolynne get out of there before he swallows you whole! We're having some problems at Lego Autopia! No comment. Kids can learn how to drive here too. Slap me some LEGO. If I could make a siren sound, I would. I guess this one got stuck up the tree. The firefighters were Steelers' fans too. They dressed in Yellow and Black! I don't know.... Here's where you can race and put out the fire. They even had "pigeons" sitting at the windows. No Pooping though.... Long wait for the phones Time to play at fun town
  7. Sorry for the delay. Here are the rest of Legoland pics. HELP!! I am being attacked by a LEGOLAND Shark Did I say they have pirates here yet? The only thing is you have to manually pump your gun. You can get on a boat and spray people that are trying to spray you from behind the fences. This area was done quite well also. They have a new water area there too! There are a ton of smashed pennies there. We took the boat ride around the river or lake. They're fed very well Hey, you have a Giraffe coming out of your roof! Look for these signs If you have to go to the bathroom, and George Washington. I told you I would get back to the busts that go up the pathway. Here is Arnold!!! Just so much attention to detail. The crookedest street These guys actually danced to some music. Times Square We just couldn't get enough! More mini land pics coming up. so I had her thrown in the shackles Gyendolynne dumped me for this knight in "shining" armor. I couldn't stop laughing through the whole ride. It is too fun. I thought this was really neat You can choose your intensity for the knight's ride Oooh, cool dragon.
  8. Saturday was fun at the wedding. Sunday we went to Legoland on our way to San Diego. It is a really great place, but I would pick Idlewild over Legoland as the #1 best amusement park for kids. Legos are always fun to play with, but I think Idlewild had a little different feel to it for kids. It’s just my opinion. I will go with some pictures now. Some of them might not have captions, but once you see them, I am sure you will know why. Third Coaster denial! We're on See, not crowded yet. Second coaster Hey Padre A row of important faces...You'll see later. Washington, DC... New Orleans... San Francisco... They have New York, There will be MANY pics from this area. This is just so awesome. Nope, back in the good USA I didn't know we left the country. Mini Legoland coming up The lions were cool. If you go there, you'll know what I am talking about. First downfall, the power tower wasn't open at 10:30am! So many great areas. Great theming throughout the park Oh, they lead you to your row...I get it now. I was concerned about these footprints. The coaster is fun though. It's looking scary with all these Dinosaurs. First Coaster Everything here is done in Legos, EVERYTHING! Hey Camera Guy. I couldn't believe Ben showed up here before his big game against San Diego tonight. Actually, there were a lot of Steelers' fans at Legoland. It really wasn't crowded at all. How about if I take your picture? Yay! We're at Legoland!

  10. Ryan, If you have some pics you want to post, go ahead and do it here. I will get Legoland up some time today.
  11. Donica's Wedding continued. That's how we ended our day. Heading to Legoland next! We're watching the Tigers beat the Yankees at National next to the hotel. First Dances mmm, Try this! Time to cut the cake! Wally's toast. Time for some dancing. Ryan videotaping while Mr. & Mrs. Garrison arrive! Hey, there's Guy and his family! Here's the wedding cake. At least this was labelled correctly. We have made it to the reception! More of the wedding Plenty of pics were taken throughout. It was a nice jovial service. The ceremony begins.
  12. We were invited to Donica’s wedding back on October 7th at the University of Long Beach. I finally had the opportunity to post a trip report on it. Sorry for the delay. The wedding was really nice. We stayed an extra couple of days down there to go to Legoland, San Diego Zoo and Knott’s Berry Farm. I don’t want to bore you anymore with the writing. I will let the pictures tell the story. Friday - Scandia Saturday - Donica Wedding Sunday - Legoland, Steelers v. Chargers (saw it at Dave & Buster's) Monday - San Diego Zoo Tuesday - Knott's Berry Farm Getting ready for the wedding. Don and Wally How about a cast of characters! Here's the program. ..... More of the setting Real Koi Fish! It's a great setting. The place was really nice. I know we're in the right place. but what is this? I thought it was the Jack-Garrison wedding? We have arrived at the Japanese Gardens... I really couldn't believe this. Pretty unbelievable that the car keys are bigger than my cell phone! I found it funny that no one took our tickets at Scandia the night before. Nice room. Hello to a hotel suite upgrade! Good-bye Scandia. Yep, we did get on it. More characters. The other elusive ride. We look happy to be on this right? Never again! I don't know why, but we rode this. Another shot from the lifthill Up the lifthill Now we're on it. Nice warnings. Here we are. Time to get my elusive credits. This guy was camouflaged really well. Many scares throughout the night. They have a really good Halloween event too. Here we are at Scandia. Yay, Southwest Airlines! How many people does it take to change a channel?
  13. I have ridden all three and I must say that SCREAM! beats you up pretty good compared to the other two. Both my wife and I like Medusa at SFMW the best of the three too. It is such a smooth ride. We rode it 9 times in a row without getting off a few years ago.
  14. ^^^I got that too Derek and I agree that I wouldn't plan anything just yet until we get "official" word. I just saw it on the website and thought I would post it. Hopefully Wally can find something out today!
  15. Looking forward to it. I am already trying to map our a Palooza for this. I'm having some difficulty though. I agree that I wish Memorial Day was used for this too.
  16. I'm in Ryan. I will call you. Hopefully you're in too Wally.
  17. Wally, we are definitely planning on being there, but if you and Guy are going to be "shaking the money maker" we might skip out. I still haven't seen anything posted on Knott's website though. I am hoping that the dates are correct! http://www.knotts.com/park/calendar/index.asp
  18. Sorry to bring this up from the dead, and I hope that this is correct. I found the following information at this link: http://www.aceonline.org/events/ Winter Coaster Solace. March 2-3, 2007. Knott's Berry Farm (Buena Park, CA). I don't see anything on Knott's Berry Farm's site though.
  19. Nice TR Ryan. I wish I would have seen this sooner and I would have just piggybacked on it with my TR.
  20. ^^Ryan, I did miss it. Sorry about that. I didn't have access to the computer on Saturday and it was very limited on Sunday. The house construction has turned up a notch and there isn't anything in our family/dining room now. The computer is in the garage. I still need to do a TR from Donica's wedding and SoCal trip. I will let you know about Friday. ^I thought there would be a problem with the make-up too, but it comes off fairly easily. If you get a chance to do this at any park, take the opportunity. It is really fun! I can't believe no one has commented on the size of the cockroaches. I know it is a little hard to see in the photo, but those things are terrible! I wouldn't eat one.
  21. That looks like a lot of fun. I wish I could have gone to Conneaut Lake when I was out there.
  22. ^^^Wally, It takes a lot to cover up my skull!!! ^^I agree on "working" a Halloween event for one day. It really didn't feel like work as it was much more of a VIP tour. Al took us around and "protected" us against any crazy park guests. ^There wasn't an expense for this at all. It was an ACE event. I received an email from Steven Wilson. Al and Steven came up with this event for us. I have to give many thanks to them for that. We can also bring a guest that isn't an ACE member. It is limited to 6 people per night on Friday and Saturday nights. Gyendolynne and I were the only people doing this on Saturday though. It made it much more of a VIP feel to it.
  23. ^^I thought it would be great to have more pics of us getting all made up because it wouldn't look scary having the camera with us to scare people. ^Ryan, I would love to do this again too, but I don't know when we can. It was a blast and Al is awesome!
  24. We went to SFMW Fright Fest last night. It was also a NorCal ACE Coaster event for the month of October with the ACErs being aloud to be Coaster Zombies for the night on Friday and Saturday nights. Gyendolynne and I were the only ones participating last night, which really made it great. Al Garcia of SFMW and Steve Wilson with ACE came up with the idea. Al escorted us around the park all night. It was like having our own personal VIP tour of the park. Spooking out the guests was just a major plus! We leave you with a parting shot of us entering Tava's Jungleland. I made some new friends on Medusa. They're creepy and they're spooky... I think Gyendolynne made a new friend. Here I am on Roar. Time for Gyendolynne to do some spooking on V2. I am at the very top. I think this kid was a little scared sitting between us on Cobra. I think the wheel came off of Boomerang and hit me in the head! The finished product. I have a splitting headache. Now for some goo. They ran a tire over my head! Still a work in progress. OOOOO.... It's gonna take a lot to cover up this melon Time for some spraying. Man, it's all over the place! It's spreading to my chin I got some goo on my eyebrow. Here's my before picture Here's Al with the Cockroaches that are to be eaten by the guests. Just a couple more sprays Finishing up on Gyendolynne Time for most of them to leave. Oh boy! No, don't worry, this all washes off. Here goes Gyendolynne under the knife....I mean the spray! The person in the apron is one of our face painters. Here are some of the zombies for the mazes. In the back, they had a Freddy and a Jason with a chainsaw that freaked some people out. The dead parade was very interesting. We will be heading down that way shortly for our make-up. This is the start of the parade for Fright Fest.
  25. I would highly recommend Cedar Point over SFMM. The operations alone are well worth the trip compared to the operations at SFMM. You roll the dice with SFMM. Another suggestion is to add on a few parks in the area with this trip. You were stating that you want to go to CP mid-week in May. Try to go just before Memorial Day, then, if they have it, head to Santa Claus, Indiana for Holiwood Nights. If you plan this trip right, you could hit the following parks: CP (Cedar Fair Season Pass) at least 2 nights, 3 days here Geauga Lake (Cedar Fair Season Pass) Probably a 4-hour park Michigan's Adventure (Cedar Fair Season Pass) & it's a 2-hour park Indiana Beach (not too expensive) around 4 hours Holiday World (Holiwood Nights with ERT on Voyage!) Beech Bend (Pay one price is pretty cheap) 3-4 hours at most SFKK (Six Flags Season Pass) 3-4 hours PKI (Cedar Fair Season Pass) All Day Then fly or drive home, whichever you are doing! If you're more adventurous, there can be a lot more to add onto this. The only parks that you would have to pay to get in would be Indiana Beach, Holiday World (with ERT), and Beech Bend. The other parks are on Season Passes, which aren't that expensive at the moment. Cedar Fair can be $80-$100 (not at Cedar Point), and Six Flags should be around $70-$90. If you want to go out with a bang, that's what I would do!
