1. Canada's Wonderland is going through what KD went through; A coaster drought. And the GP is ANGRY. As if they were expecting a coaster with no teasers and no construction.
2. They got another two flat rides. Wow.
3. Guys, they barely teased this attraction. I highly doubt it will be anything significant, unfortunately. CGA, KD, and CP have been teasing for at least two months now.
4. A GCI, RMC, and giga in consecutive years in the same 2 hour radius? God damn!
5. And like I said, the RMC could be open giving enthusiasts their thrill fix. However I would imagine I305 would be lit up for decoration.
6. See, I was thinking more like the attached map (red areas are closed, green circled rides are open). From the Tower, keep the Right side of the park open for the theater and Blue Ridge Tollway (they do a great Haunt with this and they could do a great drive-through light display too). Keep the path open up to the Carosel and Ferris Wheel (and keep these running) so you don't dead end, but obviously everything else (Grizzly, Skyfler, Windseeker, GoKarts, Ricochet, Rebel Yell) stays closed. Everything else in Candy Apple Grove stays closed. Going Left from the Tower, keep the entierty of Planet Snoopy Open and then select rides in Safari Village (thinking Avalance, I305, Backlot, Crypt and the Scrambler), and Dominator too for good measure. I think that would leave them with a good variety of intensity of rides while still closing off almost half the park to reduce staffing/decorating needs. This looks highly plausible. I think TT will be open too.
7. I think most of the rides could be open during Winterfest. I think Twisted Timbers and Rebel Yell are most likely to be open. Anaconda 100% won't be open.
8. Twisted Timbers is obviously real because of the logo but Steel Vengance? Ehhh I'm kind of doubting it. The name is awesome but my guess is "Stampede".
9. Hopefully more people in Candy Apple Grove will mean better capacity for Volcano and Flight of Fear.
10. Screamscape confirmed it's a Wonder Woman clone.
11. This park is pretty much stuck between a rock and a hard place. Six Flags refuses to properly invest in this park despite there being tons of competition within its radius. Kings Dominion opening up the only RMC in the mid-Atlantic doesn't bode well for it next year. I do feel for those who have it as their home park. It deserves a lot better. It has a lot of room for expansion and has the potential to be a major player for the GP and enthusiasts alike. But Six Flags needs to do what Cedar Fair did and make a commitment to it. I think a free fly and RMC Roar would help, but focus needs to be on aesthetics and the family/kids aspect too, to try and shake the "ghetto asphalt park" stigma like KD did when Cedar Fair took over.
12. The person who obtained the leak told me the ride would run 3 trains with 24 seats each but I'm not holding my breath. Wait, was there ever a thought/rumor that a new RMC would have anything other than just lap bars? Wonder Woman: Golden Lasso Coaster.
13. Personally after Twisted Timbers I would like to see a GCI woodie come to KD. They do need a really good traditional wooden coaster. I like Rebel Yell but it isn't a top wooden coaster and Grizzly has gotten pretty painful.
14. Is anyone wondering how there will be 20 airtime moments? That's a lot even for an RMC.
15. Mean steak to become Mean Timbers? Lol I want a rollercoaster to be named "Mean Steak" more than anything in the world right now! Haha oops, seems like the perfect name for a coaster somewhere in Texas lol New Mean Streak Giant
16. Hopefully we'll see a drop track this time around.
17. Apparently the ride is 112 ft tall, has a 109 ft drop, is 3,351 ft long and has a top speed of 55 mph. I'm calling fake because of the Centurion and The Bat leaks from a few years ago.
18. I do think it will be more than just RMC Hurler.
19. I really think people put way too much stock into completely arbitrary terms. I highly doubt this will be a "bigger announcement" than Intimidator 305 in the eyes of anyone on this forum but it doesn't have to be for them to claim that. Maybe this comes with some general upgrades (a new parking gate seems likely since the chain seems to be in the process of renovating those) but I don't think the phrase "biggest announcement in history." is something people should get hung up on since it can mean whatever they want it to mean. "Biggest announcement in the park's history" is a direct quote from park marketing materials released to . Considering that they have to top Intimidator 305 ($30M when added, about $34M in today's dollars), that's a pretty high bar to clear assuming that RMC Hurler should cost no more than $10-13M in today's dollars. Even if they're not counting money as a qualification for "biggest announcement", I would still anticipate at least one of the following, from most to least likely:1. Winterfest. CF has begun to roll this out to more parks. 2. Revamped Hurler plaza, possibly including back entrance to waterpark and new restaurant, among other additions. Maybe a flat ride or two? 3. Knott's Boomerang, if they haven't sold it already. Unlikely, since construction would have already started on this. 4. Removing RMC Hurler in sections and installing it at Carowinds, then building Camp Snoopy in its place with three new family-friendly thrill rides! In addition to the RMC, I think we will see Winterfest and a revamp of that Hurler plaza. I can see a Harmony Hall-type place or a new restaurant replacing the current Jukebox Diner, as that doesn't fit the theme that KD is going for. A new toll plaza is also a wild card but I don't see another new ride in 2018.
20. I feel bad for those who are hyping themselves up for a giga coaster. SeaWorld does not have the privilege of dropping $25-30 million on a ride currently. Personally I think it will be a skyscreamer-type ride or maybe a Falcon's Fury-type drop tower (if they don't want Mach Tower anymore).
21. I can imagine it will give great night rides too, being secluded in the trees in the back of the park.
22. I think CGA has a very bright future. You're getting a pretty good sized coaster this year and a freaking 250 ft B&M hyper fairly soon too.
