  1. Glad you had fun on your trip. I'm from the Orlando area too and I loved practically all of the rides at Cedar Point (though Dr. Doom totally owns Power Tower...) All central Florida really has are good B&M's. We really need some intamin coasters... I remember hearing something about the cameras on the rides, but I didn't know that they actually put them on. How much is it to buy your on-ride video on Raptor?
  2. My Dad is an Engineer at NASA, and knows some of the people working on this new ride. From what he has told me, this will be a motion simulator based ride (think Star Tours, NASA style) that will cost in the range of $50-60 Million. The only actual ride details he has found out is that the ride will end "with the shuttle payload bay doors opening for a magnificent view of the earth..." as he put it. In the next month or two I will get to tour the construction site with my dad and some of the people working on the ride. I will be sure to post a TR and hopefully some construction pics (if they let me take any...) Personally, from what I have heard so far I am not expecting anything too great but $60 Million is a lot for a motion simulator. I'll guess I'll just have to wait and see...
  3. I've seen the video and it doesn't really seem like all that big of a deal to me. It looks like it could have been possible for the kid to have done something behind tigger's back before he got hit. Which, by the way, he didn't even hit the kid hard enough to leave a bruise. Either way, if I was a castmember I would be sure to not do anything that anyone could say anything about...What tigger did was not a good idea even if the kid did something to him. People are very overreactive these days...
  4. Here's the pics from the trip. I took a lot more than I am posting but these were the only ones that turned out. Entrance to Screamhouse. Those 2 people were the only other people in the house with us... This is everyone in Amityville just after they let us in! Get back here early! Albert snapped this pic whole I was on it : ) Hulk from across the lake. You too can come to IOA and pay $12 for this! Incredible Hulk goodness. ...then Albert's all "Dammit, we have to wait in ANOTHER line!?" Albert's all "yay, we're about to get our IOA tickets..." In case you forgot where HHN was...
  5. Wel, I'll start off by saying that I enjoyed this year's event much more than last years, mostly because this year I had an express pass (and last year I only got to do 5 things) The event as a whole was very good, although I do wish that they had used at least part of IOA. It was more crowded than I though it would be for a Sunday night, but it didn't really matter because we had express passes. We never had to wait more than 15 minutes (usually less than that) for the houses with one exception (more on that later.) Anyways, our night went something like this... Albert and I arrived at IOA to do the Florida resident stay and scream thing at about 3:15. We had not yet bought our tickets to IOA, so we got in the regular ticket line we waited about 15 minutes only to be told that you have to buy those tickets at guest services. We went over and waited in the hardly moving guest services line for another 30 minutes...I wasn't really thrilled about this. Lesson learned, if you're a Florida resident and coming in to IOA, go directly to the guest services line and arrive at about 3 or 3:15. They actually were letting people in the park at around 3:30, but we didn't get in until 4:15. After we did all that fun stuff, we headed streight to Spiderman which had about a 15 minute wait. We did that then headed over to the High in the Sky Suess Trolley or whatever it's called. it had a 20 minute wait, and we decided not to do that. We then went and got dinner and rode the flying unicorn, and I rode the Fire dragon (Albert isn't real big on tall, fast, intimidating looking rides...) Finally, at about 6, we headed over to the stay and scream area. They let us in to HHN at 6:15 and the houses opend up about 5 minutes later. We ran all the way to the back of the park and did Dungeon of Terror and Men in Black twice all before 6:45. from there we walked through some scare zones (with no scareactors :?), did Earthquake with no wait and caught the first Bill and Ted. We did the rest of the houses after Bill and Ted, as well as a few other things... Anyways, here's my house rankings SPOILER ALERT!!!! OMG!!! Dungeon of Terror: I really liked this house. Not because it seemed cheesily put together and lacked a good theme, but because we were practically the only ones in it when we did it. All the scareactors targeted us, even followed us around the house at some points...we had some real good scares in here. The best part was when the girl who was behind me got nabbed by one of the scareactors and disapppeared. From that point on I had this weird hillbilly zombie guy follow me. Creepy! People Under the Stairs: My least favorite house of the night. I was really looking forward to this one too, since terror mines was my favorite house from last year. The headlamp thing did absolutely nothing to enhance the house (they were passing them out to 1 person out of every 25) There was a good amount of scareactors in there but the house itself just seemed really crappy. This was the kind of house I might expect from someone in my neighborhood, not from Universal. Psychopath: This one was alright, with a few good scares. There was a good amount of scareactors in this house too. The eyeball room definately got me... Run: This was a pretty good house. Really detailed and really gory with some good special effects...Be prepared to get wet. I'm pretty sure I saw Eddie at the end with his Chainsaw... All Night Die-In: My favorite house of the night. I had some really good scares in this one. I liked how it went from scene to scene. The last scene was also really cool. Screamhouse: Another very good house. Probably the most detailed out of all of the houses this year. The only thing I didn't like about this one was that the Caretaker was in practically every room. It seemed kind of unreal to see him one second and then see him again in a different spot only a second later. He did have some good hiding places, though... Psychoscarepy: My second favorite house of the night. This one made me laugh and scream. The blackout effect was cool too. Jack was in here twice... Pictures coming soon...
  6. Well, I leave to go to HHN 16 in about 30 minutes... Really looking forward to this year's event. If you see a guy with a blue gold tone shirt walking around, that's me...I'll be with one friend. I hope to get some good pictures, I'll definately post them.
  7. Me and a friend are going this Sunday... ^What about the stay and screamers? My friend and I will be at Islands of Adventure until HHN starts. What time have they been letting people into HHN from IOA, and where exactly is the stay and scream entrance? Also, what houses have been they been opening up first(for the stay and screamers)? It's our plan to get to the stay and scream area a little before they open it up, then head streight to the first houses that are opened up. We're probably going to save our express passes until later in the night when it gets more busy.
  8. 1-Millennium Force back row-nothing else like it (at least on what I've been on.) 2-Top Thrill Dragster front row-nuf' said! 3-Kraken back row-don't really know why. I just really like Kraken's first drop. I also like the first drop on Apollo's Chariot, although it's been a while since I went on it...
  9. It's breaking the record for tricking ridiculous amounts of people into thinking that it would be an aquatrax. I mean hey, it got me... I never thought it was an Aquatrax for a second. right....
  10. It's breaking the record for tricking ridiculous amounts of people into thinking that it would be an aquatrax. I mean hey, it got me...
  11. Holy crap! It's not an aquatrax! (asuming that that video is real, which it probably is.) OHHHH, this thread is going to break into chaos in the next 30 minutes... Anyways, this new ride looks really cool, with what looks like to be many airtime hills and some cool non-inversion elements. The theming looks cool too. I guess Screamscape was right when they said that this thing would be made up of small trains that would hold 12 people...
  12. ^LMAO! The fanboys would die of a heart failure if they delayed the announcement
  13. Yes, I posted that comparison on page 231... Keith "Yeah, I'd almost be willing to bet my left nut that that's an aquatrax car" Perez
  14. ^^^^^They do look very similar... Compare that poicture of the thing on the truck to the car in the picture of this. and this. The tarp on that truck looks very well like it could be holding an aquatrax car... -Keith "yeah, maybe now I finally do think it is an aquatrax" Perez
  15. It is supposedly going to be announced tommorow at some sort of press conference...I highly doubt that. Then again, they just have started putting in track pieces. Maybe they will announce this thing tomorrow... Who knows...
  16. ^very possible because it also seems as if the trains will seat 4 across, as on the Gerstlauer vertical drop coasters.
  17. Ahh, you mean this... I took it about a week ago (I just missed vertical construction ) It's a closer view. Kind of funny, isn't it?
  18. ^I'm not sure that an aquatrax car could take some of the abrupt turns in the track that this ride appears to have. There appears to be a few pieces that make a 90 degree or mor twist in less than 20 feet of track. I'm not sure if a single car aquatrax train could take that kind of a turn. Personally, I don't think this ride is going to be an aquatrax. Then again, this is all just speculation...
  19. Ha ha, kind of funny. I've been putting Theme Park Review videos on my mp3 player for well over a month now. I have this mp3 player and it plays Robb's and mostly everyone else's windows media videos at full quality without conversion. Keith "still doesn't like the iPod's copyright laws" Perez
  20. ^Sooooo...When would you expect the announcement to be made?
  21. No, I wasn't there yesterday. We went to Geauga Lake. The longest we waited for Millinennium Force while we were there was about thirty minutes. We went on it five times... I only rode one side of Gemni, but I did ride Jr. Gemni. Twice....
  22. I just got back from my Cedar Point trip (and stay at the Breakers Express) and have finally seen the construction for myself... Unfortunately, it led to more questions than answers... Since I haven't posted my 2 cents yet in this thread here it is: Looking closely at the track, there were a few 15-20 foot long sections of track that made a 90 degree twist...Other than these pieces, there weren't really any other pieces that seemed like they might be for inversions. (those 90 degree sections could be used for a top hat to or something like that, and not necessarily an inversion) The majority of the track looked mostly straight and curved...I don't think that there will be many turns in this ride (at least from the track that I saw.) Personally, I don't think that this ride willl break any inversion records. But the teaser sign "here we go again" leads me to believe that the coaster will break some kind of records...And, being CP, that is very possible. About the construction site: At first it seemed a lot smaller than I expected, then I rode the train. From the train it is easy to see that this ride will occupy a lot of land. And now, probably the biggest piece of information that I got... Walking through the Cedar Point Museum back by Skyhawk, I overheard a CP employee talking to someone about the old white water landing ride and what was to replace it...I jumped in on the conversation and asked the CP employee (this guy was well dressed and obviously knew about project 2007) about the new ride. He said that the last time he checked, there were more than 85 rumors as to what the new coaster would be. (he must have read this thread )I asked him when the announcement for the new ride was to take place and his response went something like this: So we probably have to wait a while longer... He also said that only around 30 people total actually know the details behind project 2007, and that these people are very high up in CP's management. So don't trust any dippin dots workers (or ride operators, for that matter). they don't know anything... I have some pictures I took of the track and of the construction site that I'll post as soon as I get them resized.
  23. Well, I just got back...and got all 26 credits! I really head a great time. I'll be posting a photo TR in the near future as soon as I can get all of my pictures resized and my dad's photos developed and scanned onto the computer...Coming soon...
  24. ^How do you know that? Where did you hear that from? That seems too soon. Then again, they did start construction very early for this coaster, so an early announcement would make sense. If that is the case then we only have to wait another 15 days...
