  1. I wonder if the ride "Wildcatter" at Six Flags Over Texas did the same upgrade. The ride was the first freefall to be installed which makes me wonder if the upgrade was installed because CPs freefall ride didn't sell while the same ride at SFOT did! -Andrew
  2. Thank you for all your answers... and I also didn;t know that they had all the support changes planned out. That makes everything seem right. I believe that the ride will look really cool right next to PMBO. -Andrew
  3. It amazes me how crowded with rides this park is... yet can someone explain to me how they can plan a ride and have problems with it fitting... I thought they took EXTREMELY detailed measurements. Also, how would they change PMBO... and for that matter, can someone tell me what exactly was done and why to on the first reprofile. (Just a little curious) -Andrew
  4. ^ Thank you! But, in all honesty, I've only really noticed the age thing recently... but it is no big deal. I can see all the reasons why it is to be expected. Basically, it's not that big of a problem as I have only seen it on a couple on the topics out of the many on this site everyday... so... hooray! I do greatly respect this forum as everyone on it seems very intelligent and it is one of the few places where people of all ages can talk about a common love. ( Go integration!!??!!) -Andrew
  5. Okay... I was not trying to start an "ageism war" or whatever it is. All I wanted to add was that a person's age should not reflect how the person is viewed... which I have seen a lot recently on the boards. I would like to say, however, that I completely respect your trying to keep these boards professional... which is something you don;t see too much online... so I respect your opinions. -Andrew
  6. I would just like to say something here. While I understand the recent increase in younger aged posters (myself included,) I am a bit annoyed by some of the older members responding to a post with "well... its a 14 year old... what do you expect" OR "get over it... you are just a whiney 13 year old". I think that is just as bad as poor grammar posts. Peoples opinions of a topic shouldn't change depending on who posts it or who makes a comment. Thats just my stuff there! -Andrew *Side note... why did RCPro close... if anyone knows*
  7. Thanks for the picture... as i was saying... the colors do look really good on the new coaster... just weird for the name! ... and wow... i didn't realize that this topic had gotten so large! -Andrew
  8. Again... I am sorry that I do not have pictures... but I can tell you that the new color scheme actually looks great. The colors really make the coaster look attracive. They just stand out because of the old light blue... but it will look amazing when done.
  9. ^ HAHA... yeah... um.. I'm don't think so... but probably half the people who have posted on this topic probably think I ride a horse to school! But... yeah... thats basically what we do down here!
  10. ^ Okay... I'm not trying to complain... sorry if I sound really bi*chy about it... I just wanted to voice my opinion. Also, yeah... in Plano, and the dallas area, there are more shops per square capita than anywhere else... you can see one mall from the other... so I can go to the mall... thats about it... that and the movies!
  11. ^^ I do see your point about how red could fit... and honestly... it seems logical. It is just weird because both installs has been solid blue and the change seems weird. Maybe shapiro is trying to make the two seem different!
  12. ^ I doubt it... that would be a pretty expensive primer coat for the entire track. Okay... peopel have been getting pretty heated over the re-theme... so here is my reasoning behind NOT re-themeing the ride, and it has nothing to do with the color. Mr. Freeze at SFOT has its entire que line inside of an "abandoned ice-cream warehouse." If the ride were to be rethemed... it wouldn't be a simple name change. It would cost the park alot more money to retheme the ride than just to re-paint it, Now, I don't agree with the colors, but I don;t agree with a re-theme either.
  13. ^ Well... I see your point, but with Batman... the ride can be yellow, black, or even dark purple and still go well with the Batman theme. Mr. Freeze on the other hand, to many people, can only be seen as a blue or possibly even a black coaster. Red which brings a feeling of heat wont work well. -Andrew
  14. ^ Oh... my mistake... its kind of hard to tell the exact color. I agree wiht some of the things being said. The ride really does need new paint. You can see the metal in some parts... but the colors just dont seem right, however they are a good combo of colors... just not Mr. FREEZE (cold) (blue)
  15. ^^ Again... i doubt a name change. Batman: The Ride ir right next to Mr. Freeze and I highly doubt a new theme due to the existing mr freeze building in whith the entire que line resides. It would be interesting to see Six Flags try to turn an abandoned Ice Cream wareehouse into... not that! ^ It is not entirely done being painted. They currently have the last half of the top hat painted and some supports in the lower area that can really only bee seen above. But again, I doubt a name change... I just hope that it all looks good in the future when it's done! Mr. Freeze.bmp New Mr. Freeze!
  16. ^ I doubt it as Superman: Tower of Power is right down the path. The theme is probably going to stay the same. I just think it is going to be like when they painted Shockwave from blue to green... except for this will make more of an impact as it is one of the firt things you see when driving in... at least from Dallas. -Andrew
  17. Mr. Freeze at Six Flags over Texas, after being down almost the entire summer season due to the chain wide shut down of Premier Rides... is going to re open next season... ... with RED track and dark blue supports! I'm sorry... but how can a ride with a Mr. Freeze theme be red... that makes no sense. *Sorry I have no pictures... I was at the park today but forgot a camera* -Andrew
  18. I would just like to see why some people want these rides gone? I mean, I completely respect your opinion... but i just want to hear something besides "not thrilling or short." Personally, I love these rides.
  19. I searched on this site to see if someone had already posted this... and I didnt find anyone so... www.screamscape.com/html/industry_news.htm#SixFlags That is the link to the Screamscape article that talks about the removal. As for me... I am very dissapointed in Six Flags. I'm sure that costs must be very expensive... but it still is the only freefall type ride to give me that true feeling. Why Six Flags... You and your new family approach to things! -Andrew
  20. I don't know... I'm pretty sure Dr Pepper is where its at!!! Too bad no parks actually carry my favorite drink. So I have to settle for coke.
  21. ^ I agree with most of whay you said about the people not remembering the "show" they saw... but the rides they rode. Also... I too think it is ironic how they want families to stay... but they do the show at LATE hours of the night. However, I would like to point out that this show will be taking place on a stace in a large ampitheater... that was designed to host concerts. Unless the stage will be majorly modified... the show could lack in many ways. On another note... I believe that the reason some people, including myself, are a bit annoyed is because SFOT already has plenty of shows that run during the main season. Adding this show, really doesn't add all that much. But the park at night will be pretty cool to look at... if it isnt some half worked job!
  22. Well... after thinking about the in park lights. I hope they actually have a large budget for that part of the experience. I mean, I hope its not like... hooray, all the lights now are black lights... with strobe lights hanging in random places!!!
  23. At first when I read the article... i was pretty upset and annoyed. However, we do get some good out of it. 1. The park at night will look pretty cool with all of the lights everywhere. 2. With everyone piled in the large Music Mill... hellz yeah, no lines. 3. 11:00... nuff said. Of course... SFOT is in the need of a new roller coaster. Out line up... while amazing to many... is lacking in some areas. The park has no mega-loopers from B&M or Intamin. SFOT... in my opinion... is one of the parks that actually does a great job of attracting families. But I think that SFI my be trying to push the family aspect a bit too much. SFI is one of the few chains that have many locations that cater to teens. Yes, Cedar Fair is in that markes somewhat... but their parks are not in as many locations as SFI parks. Basically... the move is a good addition... but... we do need a new thrill ride. Some of those 9 (one is a fountaion) new rides were nothing more than a marry go round that you would find outside of a supermarket (but... with boots!) -Andrew
