  1. I can say without a doubt, my backrow ride on The Beast at night was the single greatest ride on a rollercoaster I have ever had. It instantly reminded me why I loved them so much and why I drove around the country for them. I would drive another 8 hours just for that ride again.
  2. Mine is pretty simple. I hardly ever reride stuff, so if it compels me to jump back in line over and over I know we got a winner
  3. Yeah, with my platinum pass my Carowinds trips go as such usually. 1. Intimidator 2. Afterburn 3. Fury 4. Fury 5. Fury 6. Fury 7. Mine train 8. Fury 9. Fury 10. Fury 11. Fury 120 Fury
  4. Man, I had my fingers crossed for a world class hyper, but I can tell it's hard for Robb in that video to be too excited about it
  5. Okay that was deserved. Doesn't make mystery Mine or Wild Eagle any less basic
  6. The one thing that baffles me on this forum since I've been here is the neverending: "Hey guys I'm going to such and such park in 3 months, how will the lines and crowds be hour by hour?
  7. Holy shit. I rode it last weekend and it was going noticeably slower than that.
  8. To the point of them redesigning the train, to me Banshee didn't "feel" like a B&M invert. From the weird trains, no pre drop, a strange awkward slow inline twist..... I just had no desire to ride it a second time; whereas raptor, montu and alpengeist are some of my favorite coasters on planet earth.
  9. I rode millenium force as a single rider next to this typical ACER dude. THE ENTIRE RIDE he was doing on board commentary as if we were filming for discovery channel. "Okay we are going up the 310 foot lift!" "And the first overbank!" He even shouted out "airtime!!!" Over the hills. I wanted to strangle him
  10. I think there's a distinct difference between arrow rough where you slam into a non heartlined turn, and the crazy vibration you feel on some B&Ms when you rest your head on the headrest.
  11. I must say, theres only two things that really annoy me to the point of not enjoying my visit: 1. Insanely overcrowded parks. Yeah Yeah, I get it...theme parks will be crowded. But when every ride is over an hour wait including food (cough cough kingsisland cough) and there isn't any room to maneuver down the pathway, I just get frustrated and it will ruin a trip. 2. Socially retarded coaster enthusiasts. Aka (that guy). I have never been one to correct GP on stats, interrupt conversations with pro tips or interesting facts so I guess when I see a dude wearing a fanny pack do it, it's still shocking to me. Now, I am obsessed with rolleroasters and have been for over 20 years. When I see THAT guy in line, and notice that he sees my Beast hoodie or Fury 325 beanie or what have you, I silently beg him not to start talking to me. I
  12. I must say, I never even knew rattling was a thing UNTIL I rode Banshee. I remember coming through the first drop and thinking, "oh, that's what they mean." Thing is pretty rough
  13. Yeah I am actually doing bsuch gardens williamsburg the next day. Thanks for the honesty!
  14. This may be common knowledge but I think it's awesome that the first half of scorcher is basically hulks mid section, and the second half is a carbon copy of Rogarous finale.
  15. Yeah, I rode The Beast at night for the first time last month and it was a life changing experience. And I've ridden voyage a ton.
  16. I just feel really lucky I got my ride in a few days ago. When I was 3 trains away from riding I was just holding my breath, whispering to myself: "pleeeeeeeease don't break down."
  17. Let's be friends again. Banshee is half the ride the classic b@ms are (raptor, montu, alpie). It's one slow inversion after another and two turns.
  18. Wow, are you me?! We have the, exact same opinions on Carowinds and dollywood
  19. This is actually a good point. On other RMCs, the zero g rolls or stalls are fun elements that provide a nice breather from the more intense hills. The rolls themselves are NOT "intense" force wise - by design. They're just fun and floaty. Lightning Rod is actually MORE intense because it lacks these elements. There is absolutely no chance to catch your breath. There's no moment of "zero G" because it's all negative G - up to -1.0 according to the safety spiel and I believe it. Perhaps DefeatestNation had unrealistic expectations for his or her first RMC. But I can honestly say that it's the most intense RMC in the country (except for the other two 2016 ones, which I have not yet ridden), and part of that is because it lacks inversions. While fun, they are typically one of the least intense parts of their rides. I really want to move past this but yeah, maybe my expectations were too high. But see it from my point of view...without the feel of a woodie (shaking around), and the height of a hyper or giga, or without a crazy RMC inversion, I think you are just left with a super smooth steel coaster that isn't that tall. Like I said, great ride, just not that incredible.
  20. It goes both ways. If you go to a message full of sports fans of a certain team, tell the fans how overrated their team is, you should expect to receive some form of backlash. You have also been all over the place with your posts as well. First you say this: And then you say this: And then it is backing to being great: This one is strange because you don't know what a signature RMC stall or corked roll feels like yet that is what kept it from being "in the stratosphere". And then finally this: If you want your opinion to be respected, try to be a little more consistent in it. I reread my posts and I think I remained pretty consistent. Not the best ride ever, but pretty great. And oh yeah, I think it could use an inversion or two. Nothing really earth shattering here,my man
  21. I'm just really baffled why in this thread it's treason to badmouth a rollercoaster? Everyone has different likes and dislikes about coasters. Hell, I think gatekeeper is awesome, but the whole thread doesn't whine and cry about the opinions. Jeez.
