  1. I think what he was referring to was the Platinum pass from Busch Gardens Williamsburg. When the new pass launched they called it premier and then they changed it again and considered the old Premier as Platinum. Only BGW did this. The other parks did not do this so it creates a lot of confusion at the other SeaWorld Parks. Yes I was. I think that's where things become more vague and confusing. I think they grandfather claused us into being able to get certain perks, I've always gotten preferred parking unless it was filled for the day already. The reserved seating it depends on the employee but I don't always bother with it anyway if seats are available elsewhere. The re-rides we only use when the queue is empty simply so we don't have to walk all the way around again. I'm not a big fan of that system so when there's a full queue we don't bother. Maybe we were able to get the free SeaWorld ornament because our account showed we never picked up the one at Williamsburg. We hadn't asked about it, the lady at the register asked if we wanted to redeem it after scanning the pass for a discount for an item we were purchasing. Like I said I just wish they had an app and membership portal that were better than they are and made things easier to know what I'm supposed to be getting. We love all the parks and this small issue is the only bad thing I have to say about the parks.
  2. I had the two water parks as part of my plan under the old platinum plan and under the premium plan for Williamsburg so that aspect never changed for me. My issue is that since my pass says premium, which was the highest tier at that time but I'm grandfathered into a lot of current platinum perks, that it confuses some of the employees since premium is no longer the highest tier. I have trouble at reserved seating / re-ride privileges sometimes because of it. It's not a deal breaker or anything crazy to me. They just should have left premium as the highest tier and named the other new tiers whatever else.
  3. I wasn't sure if I should post this here or Williamsburg but I really feel like SeaWorld/Busch made the season passes way too confusing when they switched everything from Platinum to Premier back to Platinum for the highest tiers. We had the Platinum passes for Williamsburg that got us access and benefits at all of the parks and upgraded when they changed everything over a few years ago to Premier being the highest tier since it was only $1 more a month for us at the time, $19 to $20. The year after they switched back to Platinum being the highest and have Premier is now a lower tier though technically our passes are still platinum. Our benefits still work at the other parks, including SeaWorld so there's no problems there but when it comes to reserved seating at shows and the stay on a ride for an extra lap pass I've run into issues with employees thinking we have a lower tier pass. They also really need to do an overhaul of their app so it just isn't basically a link to their website. When it comes to benefits we are only supposed to get bigger perks at Williamsburg but when we purchased an item today in the store the employee asked if we wanted to redeem our ornament voucher, something I thought we could only do in Williamsburg. We redeemed it and the ornament is very nice, mainly redeemed it because even though Williamsburg is our "home" park we don't live very close to there and won't be making it down there before the Xmas town ends. All that being said I absolutely love SeaWorld Orlando. The Xmas stuff was fantastic, especially all the holiday versions of the shows. The figure skating show at the end of the night was very well done too. Sesame Street land seems to be a huge too and is really done well, the huge nutcracker character statues outside the land entrances were really nice. The lights everywhere in the park were really beautiful, including the tree show. Mako is still an absolutely blast of a ride and we finally got on Infinity Falls and I don't think we would make that an every trip ride because we got absolutely soaked lol I really wish these rides were in a water park. The elevator to the drop was really cool and the drop itself was so much fun. They got a lot of construction done on the new coaster since I had been there last too. Overall it was an amazing time, I just wish they would make an app that's actually useful and not have made the tiers more confusing for employees and pass holders than they ever needed to be.
  4. I like some of the mini golf places, there's a pirate themed and a Congo themed one that are both pretty fun.
  5. Saw an ad on a few digital billboards for the park on the Turnpike yesterday. Haven't seen them previously. Said WOW with some green slime on it and then the name of the park.
  6. Just from my personal experience of talking to locals about this place is that a lot of the negativity stems from people who are upset with the huge tax breaks this place received and that they think it will be a waste of tax payer money in the long run. I'll go check out the theme and water parks eventually but I don't know a single person who is interested in going to this place that lives around here. I find it interesting how polarizing this place has been for years.
  7. They might not have had them originally or maybe it depends on which park you go to but for the ones I've been on the Justice League gun blasters have a color on the gun itself and then right below the gun holder there's a sticker saying which color yours is as well.
  8. Iron Reef was way better than I was expecting and I enjoyed it but this new update looks great too. This will probably be a huge hit with the younger kids at the parks. Would be cool if they add some new animatronics to it.
  9. Absolutely loving the report so far. I enjoyed Japan way more than I ever expected and can't wait to go back. I'd like to go back sooner but since I can't fit a trip in time wise anyway I'm gonna try to plan a trip after the new rides and areas open up in Disney.
  10. Lol that's exactly why I would never pay to go this weekend. I read in a few places that it was never sold out for this weekend and instead there are workers just giving out free wrist bands for this weekend but I only saw that on a few comments so not sure how true it is.
  11. Agreed, coasters look great. I'll go eventually but I'd rather wait for the water park to be open as well as everything else so I probably won't bother until next year. I'm more waiting for info on season passes for both, if they have any before I go as well.
  12. North Jersey / The record sent a reporter there today so you can follow along on their Instagram story, I'm really curious to see how everything goes today. Apparently took her 30 mins to park simply because there weren't any signs / nobody knew where they could park https://instagram.com/northjerseynews?igshid=1n9dlesb8t36
  13. Yup... https://www.nj.com/news/2019/10/american-dream-mall-cleared-by-state-to-open-friday-morning.html The American Dream mall in the Meadowlands has been given a state okay to open Friday. After a long day of mounting concerns over whether it would be allowed to open as planned, the state Department of Community Affairs said it had issued a temporary certificate of occupancy, or TCO, to the huge entertainment complex in the Meadowlands. Without a certificate of occupancy, American Dream would have been forced to remain closed to the public. “The TCO ensures that the facility is safe to open and safe for people to occupy,” said DCA spokeswoman Gina Trish. “It will last for 90 days and can be renewed.” Trish said once all regulations are met under the New Jersey Uniform Construction Code, the facility will be issued a permanent certificate of occupancy.
  14. Just to add more drama since this place hasn't had enough lol, I'm sure they will get one though since the article does mention that other places have been granted a temporary one last minute. https://www.nj.com/news/2019/10/2-days-before-its-opening-american-dream-still-has-no-certificate-of-occupancy.html Less than 48 hours before the much-anticipated ribbon cutting for American Dream, the state has yet to issue a certificate of occupancy that would allow the long-delayed amusement and retail complex to open on Friday. The state Department of Community Affairs (DCA) on Wednesday said it is still reviewing the permits of the sprawling entertainment venue and has not signed off on all the inspections. “The American Dream facility does not have a certificate of occupancy at the present time,” DCA spokeswoman Lisa Ryan confirmed. “Inspection teams from DCA’s Division of Codes and Standards are at American Dream every day conducting inspections to make sure it is fully complying with all applicable fire, life safety, and building regulations required under the NJ Uniform Construction Code.” Ryan said the division conducts inspections upon receiving requests from the American Dream developer, adding that the division was up to date on all permit applications it has received, and “continues to work with the developer to schedule and perform inspections as quickly as possible.” The facility needs a certificate of occupancy to open. DCA officials would not say whether the lack of approval would affect Friday’s planned opening, but an administration official late Wednesday said only “that’s the plan.” A spokeswoman for American Dream did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Last minute permitting issues on major construction projects such as American Dream have been seen before. The Prudential Center arena in Newark operated under a temporary certificate of occupancy when the building first opened in October 2007, which had to be renewed at regular intervals. But because of questions over the facility’s smoke evacuation system, the arena was required to pay firefighters to stand at stairwells during events for months. In 2012, the opening of the Steel Pier in Atlantic City had to be delayed several days because the necessary paperwork allowing the operation of six of the eight new attractions had not been completed by the state. And in 2014, the opening of the Six Flags ride Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom was delayed because its permit was held up for review by the state Department of Community Affairs’ Carnival-Amusement Ride Safety Unit.
  15. Guess he hasn't heard of Mystic Timbers at Kings Island or he would be suing them too lol
  16. Pretty sure Cedar Fair has a 10-15 min wait in between on the paper cup plan, I can't remember exactly cause I don't even get the refills that quickly lol
  17. I can't recall anything else that so many locals openly hate and have disdain for in terms of a business/project like this one gets. I think this whole thing needs more tourist support than local support to keep it open but I'm not sure how many people are going to use part of their NYC vacation to get on NJ transit to get there. It's definitely going to be interesting to follow. I'll probably make it out to theme park and water park whenever that opens at some point but I really don't have any interest in anything else at the place.
  18. I was just there the other day and was wondering what they were going to put there but this sounds like a great addition even though I've never seen any of the movies either.
  19. We've just had better experiences with crowds on normal days and being able to get on mine train on fast pass and all the other major rides so waiting was very minimal. Considering the tickets were more money for this and that I've always read that these are less crowded it just didn't feel that way to me at all. I'm not a Disney hater at all, I enjoy the parks a lot. This was our 5th different Disney park of the year, we just had way better experiences in terms of crowds and rides at both the Tokyo parks and both Cali parks this year and Tokyo was really crowded then as well, even more people than last night. I just don't enjoy having to dodge people, strollers and electric scooters because the pathways are all jammed packed and a vast majority of the people are completely oblivious to anyone around them that they don't know. Trying to watch the shows and parades were wall to wall people. With there being less rides and shows open it just spilled more people out into the pathways. Also getting into the park was a mess and just understaffed, they really needed more people putting wrist bands on people. I thought the shows, decorations, fireworks and character meet and greets were all fantastic and top notch like mostly everything Disney does, I just didn't care for the crowd and just would prefer that when we go back that we fast pass our way through the day with minimal waits.
  20. Have to say for my first experience doing a special event at Disney I thought Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween was really over crowded. The event was sold out but it just really seemed like wall to wall people in the walkways. I'm guessing because of some rides not being open as well. It just really seemed like they over sold the event. I don't know if the season pass for the Halloween parties made the parks crowded or what but it really felt like more of a normal really busy park day. Ride wise I never saw dwarfs drop under 40 mins and space mountain was 30-40 mins all night. Haunted mansion was always around 30-40 and pirates was 15-35. The special costumes, parades and shows were all really well done but I can't say I thought it was a good value for $140 to spend 8 hours in the park nor would I recommend it to anyone. Would be nice if the park stayed open until 2am considering the cost and that the party doesn't really start till 7pm. Or at least start the event at 6pm and end it at 1am. I would have rather spent a full day in the park normally and worked my way through the day using fast pass and not waiting on lines. It's a shame because I've always heard amazing things about these parties from here and other places and the photos always looked great but I can't say I would do another one any time soon if I had to pay. The park itself does look amazing though and the meet and greets with the characters were absolutely fantastic, the staff that worked with them were wonderful as well. Can't say enough good things about the staff. I do have to say that after visiting the Disney Tokyo parks that it affects the way I see the parks here as well. It's amazing how everyone there sits down to watch the parades and how generally nice and courteous everyone is. You wouldn't see people leaving trash and all their candy wrappers on the ground in Tokyo like they did here.
  21. I've been wanting to go to Halloween Horror nights for a very long time now but I finally got to attend last night. The place was crowded but we still managed to do all 10 houses plus universal monsters a second time since that was my favorite and watch both shows and even had time to eat and drink in between without an express pass. All of the houses were absolutely incredible with the details and sets and costumes. Universal monsters was by far my favorite though with a combination of great scares and awesome sets and costumes. I don't care for the conga line type walk through myself but it's something I fully expected and understand. We definitely missed a few scares here and there because of the timing but it really doesn't detract from the night. I also understand the need for the security inside the mazes but I wish they would hid them a bit better to where they come out if only need be. The only thing that I thought was lacking were the scare zones. I can't compare it to past years but I was expecting a little bit more out of those. The actors that were in them though were great. Ride wise we didn't do much, we have annual passes now so we got there around 3 to process those and just get into one of the holding areas to avoid the lines outside. The only ride we went on was the new fast and the furious ride. Now the ride itself is fine but just really feels like they could have done so much more and since it's just an overlay of the old rides it's hard not to think about the old rides that were there like earthquake that had practical effects. We were on the fence about the fast passes, I didn't realize they only get you into each house once and for $179 plus tax I just couldn't justify it. That plus the cost of the ticket for the day and it's pushing $300 a person for one day. That's almost most than our annual passes at that point. If it was unlimited we probably would have sprung for it. I really don't care for waiting in long lines anymore but all of them were really manageable and the longest wait we had was stranger things at 70 mins. Overall a really great time and I'm definitely going to try to go again next year.
  22. Whatever happens, happens. I have passes to both and I like both companies for different reasons but the only thing I'm really thinking about is that at least if six flags buys them we could ride millennium force in freezing cold temperatures in December for holiday in the park lol
  23. I really like the logo, this ride looks so awesome. Florida 2020 is absolutely crazy with all this new rides coming next year. I really think I'll end up going to Florida way more now, I already love the parks down there but finally have more time to actually get down there more often.
  24. I had the same problem when I was in the area, the weather wasn't even really cold either, certainly not like anything in great adventure for holiday in the park lol I think they will draw good crowds during these new operating days. That water coaster looks awesome too, definitely want to make a trip out here soon. I just wish SeaWorld would get with the year round operations as well, even if it was just on the weekends.
  25. Whoa that thing looks wild, I'm not big on spinning rides sometimes but I'd definitely give this a shot to see how it is.
