That rock work is seriously amazing. I just can't wrap my mind about how much there is. It doesn't seem possible that they could make THAT much and still have it look good... I'm done gushing now. I'm major envious of you guys getting to meet Tory. Mythbusters filmed at SFDK twice while I worked there and I didn't get to meet them either time. Would have been cool to meet Chip Foose as well, though I'm not as big of a fan.

Theme Park Review's Italy 2012 Tour!
Double0Kevin replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Ahh! They have Cars too!? But now the DLR fanboys can't brag about being the only ones! Dammit! -
Great update, looks like a lot of fun. I wish all parks did open bars for media events! I can't wait to get to DLR to check out all the new stuff. I've always wanted to get on Test Track so I'm looking forward to at least getting a similar experience on RSR. The rock work has got to be one of the most impressive things I've seen built any where(well, in line with some of the stuff I've seen at DisneySea in photos). That alone makes me want to check out the land.

Secret Dangers of Amusement Parks?
Double0Kevin replied to chickenbowl's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Thats it! Yahoo convinced me, theme parks are death traps and I need to find a new hobby. I guess I will have to deactivate my account now. THANKS YAHOO! -
^^ I was just thinking today about when they would be planning to fire up Superman again. Good to hear they are prepping it. I hope that it's running when I'm there for Media Day, I still haven't had a chance to ride it backwards. I'm guessing it might be down to allow for the focus to be on Lex though.

Yeah, in years past SFDK was either 2nd (behind SFGAdv) or 3rd (Behind SFGAdv and SFMM) in SP sales. They typically do 200,000+ so if people are descending on the park for a special preview, it could be busier than a normal day. I assume they will just close off the plaza where the construction fences currently are and check wristbands, or they will check at the portal. Usually the park is pretty good about only letting the people that are supposed to be there in. I wouldn't expect the preview to have small lines though. People are anxious, I've heard tons of guests talking about it around the park whenever I'm there. They really want to ride.

I'm... ok with that. My mission in life is to inspire hate. Muahahaha, mission acomplished. When is media day for Lex? Are they doing it the morning of the 30th, or the day before on the 29th? I've just been assuming they are going to do the 29th and maybe a season pass preview after like SFA did for Apocalypse and SFDK is doing for Superman. But SFMM like to be a rebel so I don't know.

Usually it's 3 full limbs. Sounds like he's only got 2 full limbs. SFOT was right to do this, you just can't gamble with someone's safety even if the odds of something happening are 1 in a million. Just because the guy really wanted to ride a ride doesn't suddenly make it ok. Good for SFOT sticking to their guns(not that everyone in Texas has guns).

What is the most G-Force you have pulled?
Double0Kevin replied to XYZ's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
^ That's pretty cool, makes sense with the xyz axises. -
I think the confusion came from people hearing the 2013 announcement on the 27th, and then me saying that would be good timing because they could talk about it more with media 2 days later at media day. I think people got confused and thought I was saying that everything was the same day one the 27th. So just to be clear for everyone, Media day is not on the 27th, extremely slim chance an announcement will be made on the 27th... maybe, don't hold your breath.

Positive - Zonga @ 6+ Gs Negative - Probably Maverick has the most ejector. TTD longest sustained Lateral - Probably not the most, but The Beast's double helix left the biggest impression on me. I305's transitions give a good jolt too. -
I haven't been on it yet so I can't say for certain, but RSR reminds me kinda of Superman at SFA. I say this meaning that every video I ever watched made the ride look incredibly boring, yet when I rode it, it was pretty damn awesome. We are spoiled with YouTube, but watching a video will never compare to actually riding something.

Thanks for the pics AngryGumball! Love to see "wood'! Regarding The Nick Central post you had, that was back in 2003 when they redid Splat City into Nick Central, then of course Planet Snoopy in 2010. When JMA almost bought CGA last year I was afraid Planet Snoopy was gonna be redone again, seemed like that area gets more action than anywhere else from Smurf Woods to Nickelodeon Splat City to Nick Central to Planet Snoopy, lol. Anyways, 2013 can't come soon enough! Awkward... I don't remember making that comment about Splat City.

Let's let it go guys. The support is attached and the ride is opening for media and SP previews on the 22nd, public on the 23rd. Let's all rejoice that we are almost there. Speaking of being almost there, anyone been around the park and seen it test yet? I assume it's got to have started already or start within the next day or 2. I'm interested to see the speed through the barrel roll since the brake before it in the concept video isn't actually on the ride.

It will be interesting to see. I was just speculating. I honestly have no clue what the final outcome will be as far as how they will be operated. I was just talking to some people I know within Six Flags a few days ago about it and had heard the alternating operation rumor. Whether that is correct I guess we will have to wait and see.
