Yes and no. I mean, we have to be some of the more widely traveled and there are major new rides that we still haven't hit! Next year we will finally get to Fury 325, we'll get to Dollywood again for Lightning Rod, etc. I haven't been out to ride Cannibal or Joker at SFDK yet. Elissa still needs to get on Iron Rattler and Thunderbird. I mean, heck, I still haven't been on one of the S&S free spin coasters outside of the prototype in Utah! So even thought 2017 won't have many "new" coasters, we are still going to hit a lot of 'new to us' coasters that have opened up over the last couple of years. Hit the nail right on the head. I'd love to make it out to some of these coasters next year that everyone raves about, like Fury 325, I305, NTaG, etc. Although I'm obviously not as well-travelled as you guys at 15, I have been to a decent amount of parks. Opening years are overrated anyway. Lines/crowds usually die down after

^ Getting deep But I do agree to an extent. I get what you're saying with Space Mountain. I have the same deal for Thunderbird at HW. I've probably ridden over 200 times by now, and I still love every single ride, coming off laughing and smiling. However, I can also see the other side. Like this year, tons of people flocked to Dollywood for LR. They probably didn't have plans originally to go specifically there. New coaster openings sometimes can decide on the parks that people go to. Using HW again, there was a massive spike in attendance last year because of Thunderbird. The thread on here also seemed more active. More people just tend to flock to the new rides, so it does kind of stink if you're stuck with the same rides from last year all over the country, not just at your home park, as you have no real definite "I know I for sure want to go to *park* for *new ride* this year". But that does also present the opportunity to try out new parks that you hadn't originally thought of going to, and maybe you'd fall in love. Kind of like what happened to Adventureland this year. For me personally, I had never even heard of it, now this year it seems like all this park gets is praise. So an "off year" can for sure have benefits. Overall, I can definitely see both sides of the argument. Like, who wouldn't love a brand new B&M or RMC?! But also, who doesn't love a few laps on Fury 325, Thunderbird, Maverick, or whatever else floats your boat! Awesome question Robb. This should bring up some good discussion I'd bet.

The problem with GL is that you can't really win. There are 2 ways to ride. One will make you want to flat out die, the other will give you a possibly decent ride. I liked Riddler alright too, so maybe your experience will be similar to mine, as I didn't TOTALLY hate GL. So anyway, the golden rule of standups: RELAX. They're called standups for a reason. Whenever you're having your restraint checked, make sure to squat a little bit. You shouldn't have your crotch really touching the bicycle seat at all once in full standing position. This will keep you from losing any chance you ever had at having children. Also, ride at least near the front. I did row 2 and got a "Hey, Bill's a liar, it's not that bad" ride Now the two pains, and reasons this ride won't ever be able to really be perfect. So, if you sit on the actual seat, say goodbye to children, you'll never see your genitals again. However, if you do it the "right" way, you'll get a not horrible ride. The problem is that it's a complete leg workout. Your legs will be jello since you were standing on them with extra force exerted on them. But honestly, it really only lasts until you get off of the ride. Hope you don't completely hate it! With Voyage at my home park, you learn some defensive riding skills, and standups are nothing

^^ I highly doubt it was that. Last week, it was operating while it, and everything else in the park, was 5 minutes or less. Today things are up to 40, according to the app wait times. So that wouldn't make much sense. -
This is all kinds of cringe. Gotta love his Star Spangled Banner. ( USA USA USA!) No one could've done that better. People are so weird. If you have nothing better to do than burn a shirt of a group that banned you, probably because you were being an idiot, like now, you should probably go get a job or something.

Storm Chaser took the edge over Lightning Run, for me personally. I loved them both, however. I rode with the "medium" wheels. Not the new crazy ones, but it was faster than that original POV. I just felt that SC was a more complete ride than LR. It had inversions, twisting airtime, and out of this world ejector. LR, however was just a bit much for me. It felt like riding a bull, just flinging you forwards, not riding a coaster with airtime. T3 needs to just burn to the ground. I didn't have any because I had longer shorts, but my sisters got off with marks on their thighs exactly imprinted in the shape of the restraint. Yeah no thanks. I can't even imagine the crazy headbanging on other SLCs. Thank God, this was the only one I've ridden, and yet I'm still scarred.

Hey everyone, My family and I are planning a trip out to Dollywood/Pigeon Forge on October 6-10, as we have school off through those dates. We (well, really I'm the only one that cares about the coasters ) are really looking to make the most of our time here. We'll probably only be spending one day at DW. Which day would be best for shortest lines? Anything that I need to do at a specific time in order to avoid lines? Thank you all in advance! -
^ I'm just gonna let you know now, as I notice you're new to the site: attitude on this website will get you nowhere. I'm not sure who you're employing, but I know through a mix of a college workload, I wouldn't even think about driving 70 minutes to a minimum wage/part time job. And I'm only in high school, with that being enough on my plate for now. Any person with the slightest bit of common sense wouldn't even consider a job like that, IMO, so I'm not too sure your experiences are exactly a great representation of what most people would do for a job like the ones offered at SF. But really, if you were to ask most any college student, they'd say "hell no!" to an offer like that, at least I'd think.

Wow: Dinoconda looks insane! It looks much more intense than X2. It looks faster, flips more, and everything. In your opinion, which of those two is better! Anyway, awesome footage! I love it! -

I'm glad to hear that you would handle a situation like this like a human being. It was literally so tight on her, it wouldn't come up, even when she tried pulling it down. I know those restraints can be restrictive, but this woman went OFF. And no, sadly, she wasn't ejected from what I saw -

What a great couple of days. While today had much longer lines, there was much more to tell about. So, my two stories from today: First one, not exactly a story but anyway, we rode Diamondback when we got there, around 11:00. Wow, both the ride and its crew were HAULING. William from Diamondback, if you ever see this, God bless you, you're amazing. If any of you were watching this morning, and maybe even now, (I don't know, we ended on Banshee) they were dispatching around the time that the train in front hit the MCBR. William was on the mic, and he constantly repeated "Everyone in the station, see those brakes over there? We don't want a train to ever have to stop on those. If they do stop, that means a longer wait for you, so get on quickly, etc." This really did work, it increased the overall energy of riders, and promoted them to move much faster than normal. Yesterday, I know it was stacking every time, so this was a major improvement. Huge props to William, leading everyone, and the other ops, who were also running extremely quick. Second story happened on Banshee. We were waiting in line for the front when someone on the teal train barfed. They had to clean that one up, taking about 5-10 minutes. Well, they finally got it cleaned and dispatch. The blue train rolls in. A bigger lady, who had to be slammed into the seat with the full body weight of a man. So, he also has to push her restraint down to get it to release. Well, she gets up in a rage of fury, storming over to the operator room/door, pounding on the door, ready to kill someone. She screams "YOU F*CKER!", only to receive no response from that operator. So she storms down the stairs that lead up into that room, and stops the next worker. She screams in his face saying that she was having an asthma attack. She said that he "ignored her cry for help" and didn't let her out. She said goes on to say, to every op, and scream it, "You should be ashamed! All of you! Shame on you!" This also included backup from her smaller friend, saying things like "Yeah! Ashamed!" As both of them furiously wave and point their fingers at everyone. They finally quit, and leave. I'm pretty sure they harassed the picture people in the gift shop too, as we saw her outside of the station while we were being loaded. She was screaming something at people around the area. Probably telling people around not to ride, or something along those lines. Now, I get asthma and all that is very nerve wracking, and all, but what would you like him to do!? He obviously has to clean that up, and unless you would prefer barf all over everything, you might wanna stop. Also, they warn you about risks that you're taking by riding and when to avoid it if you have certain conditions. Gotta love GP people. This belongs in the GP thread I'd say. Maybe I'll post this story there too But there was a positive to this story. There were two ops together as my train pulled in. I heard him say "Shaaaaaaame!" and that honestly made my day So there was my #kibestday !! -
How has he not been banned yet?! Every forum I look in, he's there, driving everyone in it nuts. Grow up a little please. It's obnoxious. Oh, and whoever said Joker seems to run faster; I agree. I got on it after the main bit of downtime and holy crap that thing flies. It's one of the few rides that might me truly nervous.

I'm going to the park this weekend with a friend for my sister's soccer tournament. We'll be there both Saturday and Sunday. How crowded do you guys think it'll be? Would we need a fast lane? It's supposed to rain quite a bit Saturday so I'm hoping that might scare off crowds. -

I understand being entitled to an opinion, but my god you've got an unpopular one. I'm probably taking a troll bait by just writing all of this out, but anyway, I don't know how you can think Raptor and Rougarou are rough. Sure they've got their couple of jerks, but outside of that, not at all. I'd really hate to see what you think of an SLC But really though, what is a good ride for you? Because all the rides you've listed as meh-bad would crack lots of people's top 10, including mine. -

Sorry Mom I get it. Gotta keep the cleanest park's thread equally as clean -
I'm gonna say it right off the bat, I have no clue what could've been the issue. It could've been Velcro restraints, the metal bars/netting, etc. Speculation alone, in my opinion, isn't really a crime. But the problem is that there's people acting like experts on the situation. It's speculation. Your ideas. Definitely not proven facts like some are making it out to be. My personal opinion is that Velcro wouldn't be the best option for a restraint on such an extreme ride. Yeah I'm sure it worked for a while, but I feel like a little plastic clicker thing (no idea how to describe. Lol) would be a much safer and secure bet. But (watch this part, it'll blow some of your minds) I'm not sure, I haven't even ridden this, let alone designed it. There's my thoughts (not facts ) on the whole drama part of this. My prayers are definitely with Caleb's family and witnesses. That's such a traumatic event for anyone even remotely connected. It's scary stuff.

It doesn't bother me, so go ahead and come at me with all the sarcastic remarks you want. But I've just been noticing on other threads: are you trying to piss people off? There's always some rude remark or something it seems like, and it's 99% of the time completely unnecessary. But maybe that's just me. I don't know, you do you man. -

Major amen to that. Not only for guest satisfaction, which would definitely be higher, but for themselves too I'd say. It's will's baby and I'm sure they'd want to preserve that for him. With its current state, let's just say it's been better. Back to the guest satisfaction, for me personally it would be better than El Toro. I LOVE the layout, it's just too much with all the shuffling. I think a combination of better trains (fit for tight turns) and topper track/GCI Legend-type refurb (that thing is SMOOTH where they retracked, like the drop). Topper track would be better long-term I'm sure though. -

I looked up pictures of Giraffica, and I couldn't really find any distinct differences. It looks about the same height as well. As much as I'd love to see a Christmas expansion, I don't see it happening soon. I feel like it's just supposed to be there for shops/entrance stuff. I think Fourth of Julay is obviously more ride based. But I very well may be wrong. Heck I probably am, they could be converting it for all I know. I'm not sure which I see coming first: Christmas/4th of July expansion or a big coaster. I could see justification for both. Like for expansion, they need infrastructure, as someone said a few pages back. But maybe they need a steel coaster to increase attendance in order to afford that expansion. Holiday World has plenty of different options that they could go with at this point.
