  1. I think Hurler's good as gone, one way or another. It's not a ride that KD feels like needs saving or has potential to be popular. It's nothing like Ghostrider.
  2. Then what would you like to discuss? Actually, they do follow the ground level layout, the path, quite close as that is the reason they generally only have to add support structure to support the new elements. I haven't seen one where they added sections to the layout that deviated from what the coaster was originally. Also, historically, RMC converted coasters have resulted in shorter layouts with Steel medusa and joker being the only two that had the least impact in the length only loosing about 100ft or so of the original layout. Look, im all for RMC working their magic at KD. I just personally think it would be better executed on a new coaster and hurler stay the same with a complete restoration a la ghostrider. https://youtu.be/Td7UQHADGgc
  3. You guys realize that RMC never uses the exact layout of the old ride, right? They greatly modify the shape. I can see them adding a bit of track to this. So basically... 105 ft tall Dive over drop 2 more inversions 55 MPH 3000-3500 ft
  4. I think the notion that Hurler can't be turned into an RMC is BS.
  5. Have you ever heard of a correct hint? Dude, I'm 3 years younger than you and even I understand that might be a red herring. What makes you think it's a red herring?
  6. KD already hinted that they were going to replace Hurler so retracking it goes out the window.
  7. Take a look at the old NE Cyclone's layout. Then take a look at Wicked Cyclone. No it wouldn't be pointless.
  8. That's my prediction: RMC Hurler, new enterprise, and winterfest.
  9. Putting two and two (and two) together, I think Hurler is getting RMC'd for 2017. In the video the guy gave three hints: 1. GCI will not be coming up to Kings Dominion 2. Mentioned red (a prominent color of RMC track) 3. Said "maybe you'll ride its replacement" when asked about Hurler. Now of course I could be wrong but this is my prediction. Hey! I've maintained this prediction all along, even when most people wrote it off! Keep the faith! RMC for Hurler, 2017!!! (And RMC Streak for CP in 2018!) Yeah I think Hurler will be the guinea pig for Cedar Fair's RMCs.

  11. So honestly, what do you think KD is getting next year based off the Facebook vid?
  12. ^ Sorry I read this and everything else you said just got drowned out after. Why does everyone dislike his channel so much? I love his channel Because hes a kid that half the time makes no sense. He looks at maps and grades them on park layout. He looks at a parks stats and grades them without ever visiting them. He doesn't do that anymore.
  13. These statements are both true, and not mutually exclusive! For the market it's in, and the size of the park, I am surprised KD has been pushed to the backburner coaster-wise as much as it has. But yes, Worlds of Fun, Dorney Park, Valleyfair, and especially Michigan's Adventure, all are much more "in need" of a new coaster than KD. Count me in as somebody who still thinks we're going to see Hurler RMC'd, and also somebody who believes that there is NO layout on a wooden coaster so bad, that it couldn't be made better by RMC! To me, KD seems like the perfect "tester" park for CF's first RMC - though I believe their second is already planned, and will follow along a year later at CP! Yeah I think Hurler will be RMC'd as well because of the woody terrain it's near and the fact that it's a perfect fit at the park. Not sure if it will come in 2017 or 2018 but something to keep in mind.
  14. I have a bold prediction to make: Hurler will not only stay closed in 2017, but will be RMC'd in 2018 with an extended layout to interact with Grizzly. This is a huge possibility with Iron Mean Streak a reality in 2017. The one huge asset of an Iron Hurler is that it can be secluded in the woods, adding on to an already incredible ride.
  15. Here's a question I have: Would you rather have an RMC'd Hurler or a totally new coaster in its spot? Please no snarky/sarcastic responses. Just give a sincere answer.
  16. They won't be able to fit a decent sized GCI in that area.
  17. Nah, Hurler can still be torn the hell down. It wouldn't surprise me at all with zero work being done even at this point and rumors that they don't know what to do with it.
  18. Awesome! Now all I need is an announcement of Hurler being turned into firewood and my two arch nemesises in the form of coasters are gone! But seriously, Cedar Point would be making a huge mistake by not RMC'ing this ride.
  19. I'm actually pretty jealous KI gets this amazing GCI meanwhile KD is stuck with Hurler.
  20. So ungrateful over at Facebook. Kings Dominions fans would be bowing down to Cedar Fair to get this coaster.
  21. You're kidding... right? If not then please do head on over to any six flags thread... preferably Six Flags America. Duh. SFA is trash and doesn't have anything compared to this.
