  1. I think it is inevitable that Americana will receive more attractions in the future as that is where a majority of the accessible expansion pads are located. The infrastructure is basically already laid so it make sense to utilize that. With that being said, if I had a say, Europa would be the next area to receive an upgrade: NOTE THAT THIS WOULD BE DONE OVER TWO YEARS YEAR ONE (2016): 1. I would move the Le Taxi Tour to over by WindseekerHawk and have it wind around that area and perhaps back behind Patriot a little. The queue area and load station would be where Rockin' Reeler was located (the strange brick patio circle next to Patriot's Landing). Area where Le Taxi Tour was would be razed and fenced in for 2016 Season 2. Move Le Carrousel to Planet Snoopy. It is really a kiddie version of a carousel any way and it would receive more ridership up there and give that area a "new" ride. 3. Using the area where Bounce-a-Roos, former Le Grand Prix Remote Cars, and Le Carrousel -- put in a Disk-O coaster. I am thinking that the hump could go over the midway there at the train crossing and then the spike. The midway might have to be angled some to help with clearance of the track. 4, Open up the entire floor of Autobahn Bumper Cars again 5. Where the drink stand is near Autobahn - and that entire flat area behind it and next to it - put in a set of Flyers. Queue could be over by Autobahn. YEAR TWO (2017): 1. A B&M coaster where Le Taxi Tour was located. I don't really care on what variety. This would help bring people back into Europa and then they would be able to shut down Forum Road again, where there is currently no where to eat or anything really other than the Forum which is only used for the Extreme Sports Show (that would be next area to rip out and put stuff in. Thoughts?
  2. Both are doing well this year. They removed the extremely slow female head ride op from OR late last season and that immediately sped things up (last I heard she had been banished to being part of the train robbery). Powder Keg does well when there is no rain. When there is rain they have to literally dry the transfer track area by hand so that it can get traction going up the hill. The new SOP of holding back the line at the "Duds" stairway helps alleviate overcrowding at the station. The worst load times in the park are still in Grand Expo with the Wave Carousel and Electrospin being the worst.
  3. You don't think it was just a coincidence that the road by WindseekerHawk ends in a wall, do you? They'll probably take out some of the game buildings between the old Lumberjack Snacks building and Joe Cool Arcade. Regarding expanding Planet Snoopy, you have the entire hill where the queue for Scrambler was (along with that ride pad). You can also build on the hill behind Camp Bus or even remove Boo Hill haunt house.
  4. Operations is not the Boss of Bosses or whatever you called him. Yes you may have talked to him. Yes he may have said something. No you have no idea who I am or whether or not I am connected to the park. Again, I call your bluff, your "insider news" is bogus.
  5. Interesting considering the park's GM is named Frank Wilburn not David Bywater (he is just in charge of operations). You'll have to forgive me for calling BS on your "insider" status. Also the CFEC executive staff have been doing audits at each park so the fact you saw a manager from HQ is moot.
  6. Bigger as in spread out and taller. My mistake for not explaining that earlier - I thought it was overly obvious but apparently I'm more familiar with the two than other posters in this particular thread.
  7. Well considering they took the trim off the first drop, it has been allowed to go full speed through the first section since it reopened. The trim is now right before the end of the reprofiled sections.
  8. Sounds like just one flat ride for next year and a Haunt re theme. Maybe Blood Shed will get redone (my least favorite)
  9. Please note I said "SIZE OF TALON" not "LAYOUT OF TALON". Big difference. Also, while similar, Patriot is bigger than Talon.
  10. 2016 is out of the question (as numerous posters have tried to tell the foamers) and honestly IMHO 2017 is as well.
  11. Yeah there is a major pothole during the helix. I don't think Timber Wolf is boring. Sure there are more innovative layouts out there, but that doesn't make it boring.
  12. I honestly think that whenever Valleyfair finally gets a coaster it will be a B&M inverted around the same size as Talon. I don't think it will be any bigger than that due to room.
  13. This is the first time that Timber Wolf has been re profiled to this extent. It's also being done by GCI this time. Definitely cannot go off past experience this time.
  14. Well it and Switchback both opened (or still haven't) later than they should have and so they missed out on the Soring Break traffic. I don't get why Batman wasn't open at the start of the season. It's not like winters are bad that far south.
  15. I didn't notice the vibration in the new section, but train still gallopes through the helix and at the end. It might be time to look into new trains here soon.
  16. If I was a betting man, this would be my guess. I know of one particular poster who bugs the heck out of him every time he sees Dave at the park. Like almost stalker level. With the being said, does it surprise anyone that things are going slower than the foamers expected? I'm not shocked in the least, this is Valleyfair we're talking about.
  17. To me it sounded like Dave was just annoyed by the poster. I didn't read "not approved" in the post.
  18. Timber Wolf still has a lot of jostling, especially in the final section of the ride. The parts that they repaved this year are actually fairly smooth and rocks much less than it did before. I always prefer front seat on Prowler myself, and typically do car 3 on Mamba when I'm on it. Well imagine that, they only retracked the first drop, Bob Turn and the 2nd drop. That section with its retrack and reprofiling is very smooth. Those sections show the greatness that is to come.
  19. I can't say this for a certainty, but I believe names are trademarked along ride types. Since that was not a roller coaster, and this is, it is okay for both to utilize the same name. If that is incorrect, somebody who is more familiar with Trademark Law can pitch in, and clarify! No that's incorrect. It's by industry.
  20. The problem with WoF's entrance is that it was never originally designed to be the main entrance, but instead was the secondary entrance that was only used on extremely busy days. When Cedar Fair bought the park, they did away with the grand main entrance and instead made this gate the only entrance. I don't think a coaster over this gate would work. There really is not as much space on either side as you would think.
  21. I take it that Adventureland (Iowa) didn't trademark the name Storm Chaser?
  22. I think a coaster plaza, much like they did with Fury, would be a great way to revitalize that area. (Note I am not saying the park needs a Giga)
  23. Well considering how extensive this refurb/retrack is, I'd say quite a few.
