It just pisses me off because everyone expects parks to draw in mass crowds like Great Adventure or CP does. Dorney doesn't get 3 hr lines for coasters like some parks. When I spend 5 an a half hours out in the parking lot on a Saturday to help park cars, usually the park is busy. The other thing is, Saturdays when its "not busy" is because everyone is in the waterpark. And trust me, by 6 7 oclock , the par is packed and there are lines for coasters. Steele.force had like a hour or more wait the one day this year. And as I've never been to GA haunt, I've heard that theirs is not so good. Dorney can get crowds for haunt, because we had them this year, but go to asylum and you'll wait 1.5 hours for it. Go up to talon and it will be a walk on. Dorney is better known for their haunt, that's why coasters well be a walk on and haunt attractions will have all the lines. There were a hand full of times when they parked cars back by Steel Force, which only happens when the main lot and over flows fill up. There was a few times when there was three plan traffic coming into the park. Do we draw in 40,000-50,000 thousand people like GA or CP may do. Hell no. But we do draw in 20,000-30,000 thousand, which for Dorney, is CP or GA highest attendance.

Yup you all know way more than me. I forgot you all know everything about Dorney and the attendance the park gets. Sorry. My mistake.

The thing is Dorney does in fact get lines. When steel force is running all three trains filled to the max, there is a line. When talon and hydra go through almost half of its queue lines, its busy. When parking gets baxk behimd stinger and by steel force amd dino alive, its busy. Yes we don't get big as lines all the time like some other bigger parks do. Dorney had record attendance this year, and that was with adding flyers. Yes it would be nice to get a custom coaster in the park. Do I see it happening in the near future, I sure hope so.

The weather got us! The day we got there is was sunny and in the 80's. The two full days we were there it was mid 40's. It was so cold the one morning that Millie was closes for all of early entry because it was to cold to run it.

I used this calendar to plan my trip this past august. It's not updated for 2016. I went Friday August 28th and there was very little crowds, some of the major rides like Raptor and Gatekeeper were practically a walk on. MF and Maverick were <20 mins the whole day. I also went on Saturday and that was much more crowded. I would highly recommend the last week of august during the weekday as all Ohio schools were back in session. My first trip was in mid may. Right when they were open full time. The only crowds were school groups. A smart idea would to early entry and stay in the park till 12. And then go back into the park around 4 when the schools are leaving.

I agree with this. My first ever trip to CP we stayed on property. And coming through the gate by magnum was just blah. My second trip was only a day trip so we parked in the main lot. And the front entrance is just beautiful. I could actually spend most of.my time sitting there watching gatekeeper go by. Hence why this is my favorite photo I've taken!

Question..... Why is there so much hate from people with gatekeeper? The park saw its most successful opening weekend in the parks history, and was the number one ridden coaster at the park in 2013 with over 2.1 million. So i dont get all the hate from people on here....

It not so much they won't work, there's no point on having a modern train that can maneuver curvy, modern track designs more easily, but overkill for a 90+ year old figure-8 out-and-back coaster design. I have a feeling they'll go with the same 3-bench trains, but using the articulating chassis instead of the old fixed. Puts a lot less wear and tear on the track. Knowing Mike Fehnel though, they'll more than likely be keeping the single-position lap bars and not switch over to the ratcheting lap bars. Unknown whether or not they'll be keeping the headrests though. I've seen that the 360s are to heavy for the track.

Why is universal fighting this if its not about the competition? Just because of the height and stuff like that?

But but but but but but but.... On other news, was anyone at the park this past Friday? Were crowds busy? Might be going this coming Friday.

From what i heard, he has a sick family member back here in pa. There was no official reason given to why the switch. But i love the new trains! Yeah its not a new coaster for the park, but hey at least its something new

This is just stupid. The park is not at fault. The kid needs common sense. Right towards the end of the season at Dorney, some kids jumped the fence at stinger to get something, but luckily for them the ride was in the station, but had it been going, they would of been bye bye. People really need to learn how to use the thing inside their head called a brain every once in a while and follow rides safety rules. Because ill be damned that if a ride says to remain seated at all times, you should remain seated at all times.
