  1. I really can't wait to see (and ride of course) the finished product. I totally did not notice the boulder theming behind the trains. Now I'm taking this very very lightly but someone mentioned on the CGA Facebook about LEDS in the wheels. Now that would be pretty sweet to see 'sparking' wheels at night and see the tunnel flicker as you take the tunnel
  2. *drool* Now I'm anxious to see the front grille with gold striker logo
  3. Avoided: a 2-hour queue for an SLC...running just a single train and offering double laps. I'm glad we decided against queuing up once we saw the full queue.
  4. Gold Striker wheel via Instagram. Full reveal later today...be excited!!! And Fast lane is unlimited use on any of the rides. You can get in line at any time rather than checking in at a given time.Fast Lane consists of 2 seperate queues that merge at the station. It's pretty seemless/smooth from what I've seen.
  5. Awesome! Now we can kick back and watch this thing shoot up in no time!
  6. I noticed from when I went back in 2006 to when I recently went, barriers were added to the dolphin pool making it next to impossible to touch them. Not sure if you have to pay to touch them now or not...something I'll have to get a better look at next time I visit.
  7. Ah, TF2-ing! It's been quite a while since I played, but would play every weekend, often joining RJVader for some games and of course mic spamming antics (Left many puzzled when I played CGA's Toy Factory haunt maze theme...bizarre and catchy...or drove people insane blasting Its a Small World )...Anywho, my Steam User ID is paintballjunkie287.
  8. Venusaur...Pokemon Gen 1 (Man I miss those days, time to dig up my Gameboy Pocket and Pokemon Red!)
  9. . Inta-Mini...now what?
  10. Seeing how quick Coast Rider down at Knotts is going up, UT should pop up pretty quick. I almost want to describe it as assembling a large tent/building a shed vs building a house.
  11. YOLO. I'm only 5-6 hours away and having ridden a smaller Premier coaster recently built (Superman, SFDK...offers a nice mix of positives and ejector airtime...prett relentless little coaster!), I can imagine the intensity FT can offer. Plus I *may* be riding it this season, we shall see...
  12. (wow, I remember making this avatar way back in my early TPR membership years...god I feel old now )
  13. The part I find most intense, causing me to gray out on FD is the turnaround after the first inversion.
  14. In honor of FD's real anniversary today...get ready for full throttle thrills! (Word filter strikes again )
  15. Elementary school When was the last time you played a Pokemon game?
  16. ^Agreed. CGA seems to have come out with a bang for their opening day this year. All the past years I've been going since opening (2008- Present) opening day just came and went. The park was usually dead as well so this should help attendance-wise. I can say that SFDK's opening day appeared to have quite a turnout, maybe the same could happen for CGA...sans the double wait thing we all experienced last Saturday.
  17. Moving along (Slowly, due to paying more attention to detail and placement), here's a quick update for you all! Finally got Vortex's track laid out and placed in what seems the right spot (without being too close to buildings) A look down Orleans Place (or The Gauntlet for you Haunt fans) A brief look at Home Town Square (or Celebration Plaza) And the former Ice Cream Parlor and Gold Striker POV preview area And I'll end it with an overview of what I have laid out so far.
  18. Certainly twisty! I'm going to have to watch the POV/rendering of this ride again. I have a feeling that despite the lower height the coaster has, it's going to pack quite a punch!
  19. Speech class back in 2008. It sucked. When was the last time you went 1+ days without checking TPR or any coaster-related site?
  20. Not to mention (Sorry SFDK) the double rides thing is a bit more well thought out. Don't get me wrong; I did enjoy the double rides and really worked out well when crowds were light. But when crowds settle in (after 2 hours into being open) it begins to be a frustration.
  21. In honor of Flight Deck's 20th (Sorry to burst all of our bubbles including mine, but just heard from a source, including here, that FD's anniversary is actually tomorrow and not today...so I'll just toot my horn early ), I decided I'd share this back-side photo of FD and it's famous lake finale. I took this a couple weeks ago and forgot I had it on my other memory card Happy 20th! In other news, to add onto what Jeff posted on the previous page, more parking lot lines! Gotta love using the 49er's Stadium webcam/live view for our CGA needs Now that I can kind of see what's going on (thanks to more paint), it certainly looks like a tighter 'clench 'n squish' fit but having the parking area in smaller sections should help improve flow when everyone leaves. It just looks a little tight to try turning into the parking slot...top it off with them being set up at 90 degrees rather than diagonal parking. Glad my car has a tight-ish turning radius and is of a smaller width Oh, and check this out (On CGA's site): http://www.cagreatamerica.com/events/things-to-do/special-events/Opening-Weekend-2013 Should be a pretty lively opening weekend!
  22. I knew FD's 20th was coming up but forgot the date So yea, Happy 20th FD! I kind of feel like seeing GS's trains under wraps is much like a kid seeing an Xmas present. We can only see the shape of the package but can't see the details. Can't wait for CGA to unwrap and show off those sexy Millennium Flyer trains!
