  1. Sunday June 14 was my first trip to the park and I got there right when it opened (10:30) and left at 4:30. The lines I heard are short so I took my time and the whole day and I waited at a max of 5 minutes, but most of the time I either walked on or waited for one train and I really enjoyed that. I got on 26 rides (including a lot of rerides), watched a stunt show, ate at Johnny Rockets, got fried oreos as my dessert, picked up a nice t-shirt, and then left because storm clouds were approaching. Here are my opinions of the rides I rode: Bourbon Street Fireball (2x): This was my first ride of the day and it was a very fun and enjoyable ride! It was very smooth and had some great hangtime, it is a nice addition to the park since they only have one other thrill ride. 7/10 Voodoo Drop (2x): As I look at this drop tower I see how small it really is, but I know Intamin makes pretty good drop towers so I decided that it is worth a try. It is small, but the drop was pretty fun and I got some good views so I went on again, but it is my least favorite drop tower because it just can't compete with these great drop towers we have today. 6/10 Wild One (3x): I have heard so many great things about this classic woodie, and I was so excited to ride it! I got to ride it front row, second row, and back row, and my favorite was front row with second row close behind. This ride gave some floater airtime, and some ejector air in the front which is a total thumbs up. The ride is pretty short and kinda shaky, but it is from 1917 so I can see why. The best part to me was the final helix and the head-chopping effect you get with the old Skull Mountain. 7.5/10 Joker's Jinx (3x): First, I would say that this ride needs a re-painting on the tracks because it looks like an abandon ride you would see at SFNO ( I see that they repainted the supports which looked nice). The ride itself was awesome, the launch was fast, indoors, and LOUD and every seat on this ride gives you a different experience and I personally like the back row since you whip through the inversions like crazy, but the front and middle were good too. This ride was fairly smooth and was my second favorite ride at the park. 8/10 Superman Ride of Steel (4x): This ride needs to get more respect because this is one of my favorite coasters I have ridden and it gives you an amazing experience. The front is the best, but the back isn't bad either, but it does have some shaking, but Intamins do that, I have ridden Skyrush at Hershey and it rattles like crazy in the back. The first drop on Superman is good, but nothing too special. That curve at the bottom is insane with lots of G's, and the second hill has a good mix of both floater and ejector air. The helix is very good and the straight away doesn't take anything from the ride like others complain about. The third hill is one of the best parts of the ride with crazy ejector airtime and the helix after that is just decent because it gets pretty slow at the end. The final bunny hills are great with more ejector air and overall it was a great experience! 9.5/10 Batwing (2x): My first Vekoma flyer ever and it is so different compared to the B&M flyers that I am used to. The restraints on this coaster are uncomfortable and it makes it hard to breathe. The ride itself is fun and some elements are fairly intense for a flying coaster, especially the vertical loop. It has a couple of moments when it rattles, but other then that it is smooth. This is a good flying coaster, but it is no B&M. 7/10 Roar (2x): I love wooden coasters even if they are rough, this one was a little too rough for me and was really shaky. The landscaping around this coaster was terrible with grass and weeds in between all the wood, it really needs to get more love from SFA. It had some fun moments and so good bank turns, but nothing special. It is one of the worst wooden coasters that I have ridden, but like I said I love wooden coasters so the ride itself isn't terrible its just not good either. 5/10 Apocalypse (2x): This ride has awesome theming and very cool looking colors, but the best part of the ride is probably the soundtrack they play. The ride has the most head-banging I have ever witness (so far) on a coaster and the only parts of the ride that are smooth are the drop and the vertical loop, after that you'll be trying to save yourself from the OTSR. Hopefully in the future Six Flags does what Cedar Point did with Mantis and put floorless trains on it. 4/10 Mind Eraser (1x): We have a winner for the roughest coaster ever, it is even rougher then Apocalypse. I knew this ride was going to be one of the worst coaster I ridden so I had to go to the front row to even survive and I was suprised at first with a good drop and a pretty intense and weird element, but it hurts after that. If only this was Batman the Ride then I would have more good stuff to say, but it is a Vekoma slc. 3.5/10 Ragin Cajun (1x): This is a nice, fun, and long ride with some nice pops of airtime after the biggest drop, and on the tiny drop at the very end. It isn't as good as the Tickler in Coney Island because it doesn't spin the entire ride, but it is way better then your typical wild mouse coaster. The only reason why it doesn't get a higher score is because it is a family coaster and that really isn't what I am into, but I love spinning so I had to take a ride! 5.5/10 Renegade Rapids (2x): This is a a pretty good rapids ride with a lot of waves and a very cool abandon cabin. It wasn't as good as some other rapids rides that I have ridden, but it sure isn't the worst! 6/10 I also rode the bumper cars and the French Quarter Flyers which were both very fun rides. My overall day at the park was very good and exceeded my expectations and I enjoyed it enough that I might drive drown here again next summer for some more Superman. I highly recommend anyone who is in the area to check it out.
  2. That's what I thought since it is only 5 acres, but they know how to cram stuff in and I heard that Zamperla was thinking about a waterpark. It doesn't sound like it could happen, but Zamperla has done some really interesting and creative ideas these last 5 years.
  3. Isn't the land next to Thunderbolt the area that is rumored by Screamscape to be the up-coming waterpark. Maybe that's why there is construction going on there because that is pretty early to start construction, especially for Luna Park. I wouldn't think it would be parking with the expanding opportunities Zamperla has and they expect you to find a parking space somewhere in the city. A waterpark to me is a bad idea with how gross the beach gets in the summer, and in the new land they could put more fun new innovations that Zampela gets, like the new Windstarz attraction that's coming soon!
  4. Some interesting news from Screamscape today. They said that SFDK is partnering with RMC to redo there better version of Roar. That might just mean that SFA is on the to do list with there Roar!
  5. Thank you for the information, I love it when parks don't get long lines, it makes you not as rushed or as worried while your at the park. It seems to be a pretty good park with an average coaster selection with Superman, Batwing, and Joker's Jinx. I wish they had a Batman clone here instead of a Mind Eraser, but you can't have everything. Is Wild One as good as people say it is because I here a lot of good things about this classic woodie, I saw the pov and it looked like it had a lot of airtime
  6. I wasn't planning on going to this park until next year, but a little change in plans and now I am most likely going to the park this Sunday! I remember someone saying the lines here aren't long, is that still the case? If it has changed can someone tell me what rides to hit first and what rides to leave until the end of the day.
  7. I wonder why Possessed was so rough that day, maybe I am just used to launch coasters because compared to other launches I call Possessed to be pretty smooth compared to other big launch coasters in the area like Stormrunner, which has so much head-banging in the last half of the ride unless you push yourself into the seat, and Kingda Ka which has a very bumpy launch. I agree that Thunderhawk isn't as rough as Wildcat, but for others that are older then me I would feel like it would take a beating on them, like it does to other parents I see on the trains.
  8. Talon is the smoothest and my personal favorite at the park, Steel Force and Possessed are also smooth. Hydra is mostly a smooth ride with just some minor rattling. Stinger is pretty smooth too, especially if you ride in the front and Thunderhawk is pretty brutal, but the airtime in the front is pretty good and still worth a try.
  9. I rode Stinger for the first time a few days ago, one word describes it, "ouch." I thought everybody was just overstating how much it beats you up, nope, on the return trip, coming out of the loop, the whole car sucker punches you right in the temple ( is a good example of this. Keep an eye on the restraints, whenever they shake or move around a lot, they're coming in contact with your head) I'm tempted to ride it again sitting in a different car, but considering how much it beat me up the first time, I'm not exactly in a hurry to give it another shot. You probably didn't ride it in the front row if you experience that much head-banging, I also ride the other rows sometimes and you do get some head-banging, but nothing to ruin the ride. I am used to rough rides though and don't mind going on them. I consider Stinger to be quite smooth and very forceful.
  10. From 10-5 P.M. the park Is dead with most lines as walk-ons, but when that waterpark closes you'll experience most major roller coasters in the middle of the switchbacks even with high capacity rides like Hyrda, Talon, and especially Steel Force. This past Saturday the park had very short lines like everyone said already, but I went at night and it was very crowded; Posessed and Stinger's line was unbelieveable with both of the lines in the middle of there switchbacks. Hyrda had a line up to the second switchback and I don't even want to talk about Steel Force's line. Talon's line was surprisingly very short with only about a 5 minute wait and rides like Enterprise and Meteor had a 10 minute wait. For me, as a season pass holder was, eat smoked chicken and baked beans, walk around and see if any lines were short, and then get on my favorite ride, Talon. Going back Friday morning ( 7th visit for the season) so I can have a usual relaxing day at Dorney and the Smokehouse Barbecue!
  11. Stinger is most likely going to be open by tomorrow, like it did when it got stuck on opening day and reopened the next day. A tip is to ride Stinger in the front row where you are facing up the lift hill first, you will get much less head banging and more forces!
  12. I think we shouldn't of said that Stinger is running ok this year because it got stuck today on the second lift hill. I don't have anymore information then that, but let's just hope it's not something major (It probably isn't major because most of the mechanics are on the first lift hill). Also Steel Force got stuck on its lift hill today, but that happened a number of times last year, and it should be back up very quickly.
  13. I think we shouldn't of said that Stinger is running ok this year because it got stuck today on the second lift hill. I don't have anymore information then that, but let's just hope it's not something major (It probably isn't major because most of the mechanics are on the first lift hill).
  14. I guess I was that 20% then, but yet again the 80% was probably a lot of kids and families. I think why I didn't like it was it was so much cool looking in the video that I thought it was going to be one of the better family coasters around and I also just came off one of my favorites ever, Skyrush! Also a side note that it broke down last night and people were getting mad because of how long they waited to find out that the ride is stuck and also at night there are so many bugs in the lines that fly on to your hair so be prepared.
  15. A tip if you don't care about coaster credits, don't wait two hours for Laff Trakk. Yea it was alright and a little fun, but I wouldn't wait more then an hour for it for a first ride. I only waited 5 minutes, but after that I didn't even consider a reride.
  16. Went last night, but didn't even think about going on Laff Trakk because it had around a two hour line so I think it has bad capacity( I heard it was 2 hours all day and wasn't much movement in the line). I will be going on it today right at 10 to see if it would be worth that line.
  17. How are the lines going to be like this Sunday, and I thought Laff Trakk was opening up this weekend?
  18. I really didn't thing Mamba is as good as Wild thing or Steel Force because of the trim brakes that make the bunny hills have no airtime at all and has a little curve on the first drop there for less airtime as you are coming down. With Steel Force you get a straight drop, two tunnels, and lots of floater airtime(it even has an airtime hill on the helix). I haven't ridden Wild Thing, but how the pov looks it is probably better then Mamba and around the range of a Steel Force.
  19. I always think the same of why people think that this park has such bad shade/landscape, but there are so many areas especially in the back of the park that has many trees and flowers with a scenic creek running through it. If they expanded into the wooden area in the future I think more people will see how nice this park is.
  20. Wow, all of that retracking must be costing them a lot of money, but it is so cool that WoF takes the time to make rides smoother and more enjoyable! My home park, DP, doesn't take care of there classic wooden coaster, Thunderhawk, which is sad since its a very good ride with plenty of airtime, but it is just too rough.
  21. I feel like Cedar Fair in general doesn't put in as much of the way of coasters as they should do at the smaller parks, and even KD hasn't received a coaster since 2010 which by 2017 ( when they are rumored to get one) will be seven years and that's one of Cedar Fairs biggest parks! MIA is so much more mistreated then Valleyfair with not getting anything this year and last year a flying scooters ride, not to mention that there last coaster in 2008 was a relocated slc. Valleyfair might haven't received anything big since 2007, but they have made some big changes for everyone so that the whole family can enjoy a day at Valleyfair!
  22. I'm not sure how having two slide comples makes us have one of the best waterparks, but this next one does look great. I think they could of used the Snake Pit complex because it would of gave them much more variety with three great tube slides ( Constrictor type slides are amazing with so much intensity around the turns) and three unique drop slides. I don't think this waterpark is as good as KI, WoF, DP, KD, MIA, or Carowinds, but it does have some potential.
  23. There are so many Cedar Fair parks people are speculating to get a coaster in the near future that I don't know what's going to happen. In 2016 Cedar Point will most likely get the major investment yet again with the B&M dive machine that has been heavily rumored and I have a feeling DP will get something pretty major with maybe a GCI woodie or a good family coaster ( I have heard that DP bought new land to expand the park). 2017 is KD's year with some sort of monster B&M and then either VF, WoF, or MIA will also get something good that same year.
  24. That is a possibility to consider in the near future!
  25. That math is good, but Cedar Fair's past does not change. I totally agree that they could just put a roller coaster at those five parks that you mentioned if this was Six Flags, but Cedar Fair like to spread out there money to all the parks and give investments to everyone (usually). Cedar Fair usually doesn't get more then 2 coasters every year, look at this year, the only real coaster they got was Fury 325. In 2016 I see Cedar Fair installing a roller coaster at two of there parks and one being the B&M dive coaster going at Cedar Point and the other could go to WoF, MIA, or DP. IMO KD will get a coaster in 2017 and somehow I am thinking CW in 2018, then back to KI in 2019 so they focus on one big park a year and in the same year a smaller park.
