Count me in on the Spain trip - just need to find $150. But a quick question: Why Isla Magica?

Storms are cool. I have experienced a huge thunder storm in Torquay (England) last year with lightning hitting random places for about 6 hours. It was crazy but very good to watch and listen to. I have never experienced a tornado or hurricane though have felt strong winds and its fun. Though I think if a hurricane or tornado came along I would not be laughing so much. In terms of death per year, a heat wave causes the most so should we be afraid of these more than storms? (reference: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Heat_wave)

Really? I am gay, and in my searching threw various family trees projects, and living very close to my family, I know that I am the only gay person in my line of family that I know of. Well, there is no one else gay in my family, except for me but that does not automatically make it a non genetic thing. I am also the only member of my family with hyperoxaluria Type 1 and that is most definitely, 100% genetic.

Ex gay camps, or whatever you want to call them, are there for a reason: to change homosexuals into being heterosexuals. Peoples sexuality is, in my view, genetic, and there is a lot of scientific evidence that backs this. I was at EuroPride (London) last weekend, at at Regent Street were members of the Christian Voice political party, with placards saying how homosexuality is a sin, etc etc... and, maybe, it is - I have not read the bible and I am certainly not going to in any hurry. But even if it is, what business is it of theirs to say this? It feels like that if its printed, it must be law, and everyone, Chrstian or otherwise, must abide by this law! However, when someone is perceived to be different from the normal (whatever that might be) there will always be people protesting this. I get a lot of ignorant people telling me how evil my religion is, (Satanism) without first reading, or even attempting to understand what its about. Hopefully the ex-gay camps are stopped, because you are effectively converting someone into what they are not, but that that is discriminating againt those who belief this to be a way forward (read: religion used in the wrong context). To me it is discrimination against gay people for telling them you cannot be this way which can do a lot of damage, and perhaps make the person take their own life, especially younger people (under 16).

LOL! I so completely agree with you. If your with someone, your having a nice chat, and the smelly person infront moves and you get a huge whiff of B.O.! Its just ... eww! Out of the choices I'd say expensive, over priced food that is otherwise crap along with expensive overpriced tickets. Queue jumpers also annoy me - if caught they should not only be not a loud to ride, but ejected from the park for making peoples visit unpleasent.

High definition (HD) is cool because it is a lot clearer. However, in my opinion, I would not get anything Sony and HD. The reason for this is that Sony want to control HD content which includes the number of devices it plays on. If you try to play HD content on a device that does not have HDCP encryption then the image is downasampled to DVD quality. I do not know how this effects HD content shot with a HD capable video camera mainly because I do not own one. As to whether the content is downsampled, attempt to play normally or not at all is not something I know but my guess is that it would be downsampled. HDCP encryption is only on newer HD devices and most new HDTVs come with this technology built in. Basically, it is to stop the copying of the video sample as it is tranferred from device to device (in this case, the video camera to HDTV or other display device). If HDCP is not present, this is when the movie sample is downsampled. According to various people the content may not play at all. I won't talk about HDCP much further because there is plenty of documentation on this but it is the main block stopping me from embracing HD technology, including HD capable video cameras.

Eurostar. I do not know if this is underrated or not talked about to much, but is one hell of a ride. Basically, Eurostar is an inverted coaster designed by Oscar Brusch and manufactured by Intamin and uses 4 abreast seating. The inversions are: vertical loop, inline twist, corkscrew, corkscrew. The ride itself is a little rough, though refurbishment has made is better now, and is very, very intense. The ride also travels around German fairs... Goudurix, Parc Astrix. Simply put, this thing = pain. Went on twice and hopefuly I'll never have to go on it again. Its the first four inversions that kill you, particularly at the front. How does Nemesis (Alton Towers) rate when compared to other coasters like Montu, Alpengeist, Silver Bullet etc... Been on Nemesis probably over a hundred times, so Im kinda biased when I say how great it is. O, lets make this two questions ! Will you be returning to Alton Towers ?
