  1. That gondola is looking fantastic! I can't wait to see it on the tower!
  2. Intamin can make a good looking ride, look at Intimidator 305 and tell me it doesn't look fantastic.
  3. I have experienced a similar situation at the Indiana Beach S&S tower (Which if you have been at Indiana Beach you know the true power of that thing, so that was terrifying). The thing moved a little, and then the operator came around and pushed down the restraints. I find it hard to imagine that they would allow the restraint to go that far up and still run the ride.
  4. But you're terribly mistaken! Unless a park gets a $20 million B&M, it is extremely neglected! This is what this thread turns in to every once in a while.
  5. I've never heard Magnum's airtime described as "gentle" before. I've heard it described as borderline-uncomfortable jolts of airtime that try to launch you into Lake Erie. That said, I've never ridden it for myself (I need to get to Cedar Point, and soon!).
  6. Lucky people. I've always wanted to walk down the lift hill.
  7. I'm really looking forward to the trip reports, especially of the backstage tours!
  8. That must have been put through some sort of filter, I don't remember them being the dark. I think it is just a weird picture (Fun fact: I'm on that train, but I'm in the very back row so you can't see me!) I probably won't be able to go to the park on closing day this year, but if by chance I could go, it would be nice to meet some of you. I would be in for meeting at the park for a couple of hours to hit some rides. It doesn't have to be the last day either. Any Haunt weekend works too. Also either of the two weekends in between Labor Day and the start of Haunt are usually nice and not a lot of traffic in the park. Anyone up for any of those times? I prefer Sundays, because less people are there (There's no Haunt on Sundays, only Snoopy's thing ). Pretty much any Sunday should work for me. I'd love to see this happen!
  9. This is probably my favorite part of the park to just walk through. Lots of shade, and lots of foilage. By the way, has anyone else realized that the Corkscrew pond looks a lot cleaner? I think they added a fountain this year, as well.
  10. Do not miss the Doubleshot tower. It is still some of the strongest airtime I've ever experienced! I enjoyed the paratroopers and swings since they are over the water, making for an interesting ride experience. Den of Lost Thieves is a great dark ride, and they also have flyers (How can you not have fun on a flyer?). Also, there's a Skyride.
  11. Hey! I was there! Renegade filming wasnanton of fun. Does anyone know who did the filming of that?
  12. I probably won't be able to go to the park on closing day this year, but if by chance I could go, it would be nice to meet some of you. I would love to meet some of the faces behind these posts! Count me in as a maybe. It depends if anything pops and up, and which members decide to go. I don't think anyone will know if they can go until later in the year.
  13. I count five, how about everyone else? Great report!
  14. As someone who's been with TPR almost since its founding, allow me to say very sincerely that I hope this never happens. It's a real shame that some idiots made you guys felt driven to do that with the trips. It'll be a shame if that happens with these kinds of events as well. It makes me sad that I was ultimately unable to participate in the TPR tours while they were going on. Now that my life is more stable than it was a couple years ago, I would have loved to take some of my vacation days and have a blast on a TPR tour. I also find it a shame that things turned out that way. I haven't been here for that long but I also was really looking forward to doing a TPR trip very soon. In fact, I have been saving some money for a few years now with the intention of doing so and now because of things like this I won't be able to. I don't want to say we will never do them again, but after ten years of putting on tours, and people getting worse and worse each year, we just needed a break. And trust me, if we start them up again, there WILL be some sort of "application" process and we will choose who goes and who doesn't. I can't see us ever doing an "open enrollment" type of thing ever again. How on Earth could someone not just be having a blast on a TPR Tour, even if a couple rides are down? Heck, I've read reports from trips where it rained at Cedar Point while they were there, and the power was out at Hotel Breakers when they got there, and they all seemed to be having an awesome time! Or in 2013 when Iron Rattler and New Texas Giant were down? I would think that the tour that Robb and Elissa put together is a far more enjoyable and memorable experience then riding a wooden coaster famous for being rough. The fact that Robb and Elissa are losing money for this event, and people are complaining about something that is beyond their control just makes me angry. And it isn't like they aren't doing anything about Ghostrider's closure, they are offering an exclusive behind the scenes tour for participants. I don't usually rant on forums, but people complaining about your events to the point where they had to stop doing open tours just really ticks me off. It almost seems like people forgot about the 4 HOURS of Xcelerator ERT they are getting. I can't imagine what would happen if Xcelerator went down.
  15. Other parks in the chain added them, and with VF used to have them, so it would work great in Route 76. No facts, just an idea that seems very possible.
  16. I must have missed something. I know Kings Dominion is getting Delirium, what is the other park?
  17. I just had a fantastic day at the park! Thank you valleyfairfanatic for notifying me that the commercial shoot was happening! I got at least 10 rides on Wild Thing, and I got 4 on Power Tower! I'm ready to do it again tomorrow at Renegade at Extreme Swing! Any other TPR members going tomorrow for the commercial shoot?
  18. Totally disagree with that last part. That drop tower is messing with how frequently trains can be dispatched. I think that's a New Jersey regulated issue but I wouldn't want to risk that with Dragster. Well if TTD Could run normally without the issues that KK has, then I would like to see a drop tower added to TTD. If it would end up with the KK issues, then NO! I would NEVER want that to happen! Isn't there a drop tower right across the path from Dragster?
  19. Looks like a fantastic addition, a major upgrade from Shockwave!
  20. Yep, I love single-position lap bars! One of the reasons I loved Cornball Express was because of the restraints! Also, I love how High Roller at VF is a single position lap-bar. I don't think that many corporate parks still use those. The world needs more buzz bars.
  21. Excalibur - 1 Cosmic Coaster - 1 Steel Venom - 1 depends on crowds High Roller ~ 1 (most common) or 2 Corkscrew ~ 1 (most common) or 2 Renegade ~ 1 or 2 (crap shoot - never know) Wild Thing - 2 (rare 3) Mad Mouse (varies) Yeah I'd say "mostly 1 train" is pretty accurate Well, of my visits this year, Excalibur only has one train on the track, and it doesn't get a line long enough to warrant adding another train. Cosmic Coaster and Steel Venom can only run one train, and I have seen High Roller, Corkscrew, Renegade, and Wild Thing run two trains nearly every single time I've been there. So, all the coaster that are able to run two trains (Except Excalibur) run two trains the majority of the time. I will say that they didn't do many two train operations on Corkscrew and High Roller last year, but they have been consistently running two trains this year (From my experience). I don't know, maybe I'm just lucky?
  22. Power Tower is fun. I'm not sure where you heard that most coasters run 1 train, because VF runs 2 trains on most of their rides.
