^^ It is a Sunday so I would expect many of the workers to have the day off. -

^I really hope this is for real, opening tomorrow that is. Going to be there next weekend and while we can always go back this year I've been waiting for Lightning Rod since what? Last Spring? -

^^Trust me, I'm sorry if I came as such a person. I truly did not mean to. It is just a bit unnerving that the park has not released any further information. -

Please Pete, answer me this question. Why is LR not opening this weekend? Didn't RMC give the park control of the roller coaster a couple of weeks ago? Have you not been awarded a state certification yet, or what? Just please, all I and many many others on this site want is more of an answer than we should get ready for a bonfire! -
What's your closest coaster?
Firechaser replied to FishyFish's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
2 hours to Carowinds, but we have season passes to Dollywood which is a 4 hour drive. So, I'm not close to a park, but atleast I have two within a manageable distance. -

We just booked a stay on May 20-22 because they were running a special, but everyone in my family that has been swears up and down that it is the best resort that they have stayed at. You can't beat the free Timsavers and free transportation either! -

Will they have to replace the whole launch system or will it just require some extra tweaking? Hopefully it is option number two! -

Maybe the park and RMC will release some news before long. I mean, bad news is better than no news, right? -

I don't remember where I saw it, but there is an article online where Bill Owens told the directions to the old Parton homeplace. Edit: here it is, http://articles.chicagotribune.com/1986-09-07/travel/8603060993_1_creek-bridge-miles-louis-owens It is from 1986, though. -
Getting Too Old To Ride...
Firechaser replied to Rider51's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I know that age affects everyone differently. My Grandma will still ride almost any roller coaster but she gave up on spinning rides along time ago. Also, my great-aunt rode Mystery Mine and loved it when she was 76 while my mom rode it once at age 42 and about got sick! -
Best Family Coaster

How is the lift entry painful? It is probably one of the smoothest rides I have ever been on. -

Themepark Question

Dollywood has 28 rides not 27, plus there are 4 water rides not three. -

All of your pictures were excellent but that first one was spectacular with Intimidator and Afterburn in the background! -
This is my main issue with CGA, and why I feel SFDK is a much better park. Flight Deck, Vortex, and Demon are all incredibly short. Personally, I feel like adding the water park was a horrible move back in the day. I feel like a water park and an amusement park are activities for 2 separate days, and that spaxe could be (and was) used for another top notch coaster. Are there any other parks in the world that have them in the same gate? Almost all Cedar Fair parks have a free water park... Carowinds, Kings Dominion, Kings Island, Michigan's Adventure, Worlds Of Fun, Valley Fair, Canada's Wonderland and Dorney Park. If I am at say Carowinds, and I have the time I will go to the water park to ride a couple of slides. Plus water parks cut down on ride wait times during the summer!
