I can't play your video PaTim. But I could for sure see them doing some themeing not only on the woodies but in the older sections of the park. PGAV has done amazing work at Holiday World ever since that relationship started. And every season it seems HW has been using them for more and more. It seems the two companies work well together. It's like they understand each other and know and "get" what they are going for. -

What strikes my fancy is that we were told straight up that the 2016 announcement would not be a big deal at all. But considering the type of work that they are hinting at on all three woodies, that's a pretty big announcement. No not a new ride, but still more than what I expected. I have no concerns whatsoever about whatever they decide to do to the woodies. HW knows what they are doing when it comes to coasters. It's just in their blood. I don't think HW even has the ability to mess up a coaster, lol. They have my full faith and confidence..... And my intrigue and excitement as well! I would be worried if it were a different park though...Like a Six Flags or something, lol. -

Their Halloween event really is stellar. First time I went I was worried that for the price there wouldn't be much, but after the fact I learned 29.99 is really a GREAT value! Like mentioned above they have so many cool things going on that its VERY easy to let your time fly by way to quick. If you go keep an eye on the time and what you want to make sure you do when there. HW has absolutely NAILED this event every year since they started it and every year it gets even more awesome. EDIT TO ADD: HW does events in general like no other! They go all out. -

Wow, that is a bummer. I would hope people would understand why such rules exist and follow them. I certainly understand why such rules are there and I GREATLY appreciate it! -

Thanks for the insight/help! For whatever reason I can't seem to get the video to load. Any ideas? EDIT: got it to work. I wonder since this is a big name artist that I'm sure uses a production company, if they didn't have permission and special equipment involved to shoot those parts of the video. I could see HW(or the other parks in the video) being sworn by contract to not reveal it was their park in the video. Also I believe copyright would maybe prevent them from sharing the video themselves through social media. Just an idea. I just don't see an artist as big as this doing something illegal to shoot a small piece of their video and risk the repercussions. Just a thought. -

I mean... I don't have the strongest stomach for rides. I know I have limits. But I ride as much as I can handle and I love them. Am I not allowed to be an enthusiast? I'm not following. I wouldn't worry about that. I had a STROKE so I have new limits as well, however I was still able to ride all of the coasters at HW this year. Of course I consider myself more of a Holiday World enthusiast, lol. -

Robb Alvey - COMPLETELY off subject but since your here I wanted to tell you how much I appreciate and enjoy the site! I seen you several times at the Thunderbird Media preview but was too star struck to say hi, lol. Plus you were having such fun I didn't want to butt in. Thank you for what you do though! It's greatly appreciated! -

I really didn't expect another big announcement this year. I'm going to assume that improvements will be to infrastructure and the such to help keep people cool and comfortable, and manage traffic inside the park better given what I'm going to guess was a large increase in admissions this season. Even though I'm not expecting a big announcement at all, I'm still very very interested in what the plans are for next season. Any thoughts I throw out about major projects would be something I would see them doing within the next 5 years. -

I think your right, but man I would hate for them to loose that picnic grove. It really is quite awesome having that in the middle of the park...errrr what was at one time the middle of the park. -

Thunderbird has two trains, and 20 seats per train. So it's far from high capacity, but a short ride duration and AWESOME operations keep things moving. Most parks' stated capacities are rarely achieved, but I wouldn't be surprised to hear that Thunderbird's actual capacity is pretty close to its theoretical. I visited the park a couple weeks after it opened this season. During my 10 rides of Thunderbird, I observed multiple staff members and a couple other "official" looking guys (I wanted to think they were from B&M but I couldn't quite decide) closely watching the loading/dispatching/unloading operations and taking note. Each time I rode, it appeared they did something slightly different in the process to try to achieve the highest capacity possible. I wish all parks were this invested in their guests' experiences. They were taking notice of their loading and unloading at the media preview as well. Now when I watch how fast they dispatch trains, it's crazy! They have learned VERY VERY quickly how to efficiently run this amazing monster. -

I would agree 100%! Although it's strange to me when people talk about all this happening more recently in history. I'm somewhat of a local and I grew up with this park. They have been doing all kinds of things to develop and get themselves to this point. This is by no means a "new" occurrence for the park. It's just becoming more accelerated as they grow.... It's happening very organically rather than rushed, un-calculated, and generically. I think Thunderbird has been a WAY bigger success than even they dreamed themselves, thus causing park development to accelerate and even a greater pace... Although still organically. -

Wow. I'm surprised they gave away as many hints in that article as they did. I mean they actually mentioned a theater, the high probability of additional wooden and steel coasters. They even mentioned wanting to become a destination, which kind of goes back to the old trademark for "Holiday World" hotel. Otherwise, I LOVED this article. I have had the feeling that the Thunderbird project really was partly about the grieving process and the changes and turmoil and being done with all that. These girls, and Matt, really are filling Wills shoes VERY VERY WELL. They mentioned being the next generation and being a lot to take on. But to me it seems the girls and Matt have already proven to themselves and everyone they can fill Wills shoes very very well. I got to chat with all three of them at the Media Day. They are so so much like their father! And Matt is just as genuine, smart, funny, friendly, and amazing as Will was. This "next generation" is going to take this park so so far, with having Wills vision as a backbone. I'm sure they will do something's a bit different, put their own personality on things a bit. But they can all rest assured that Will is looking down with huge smiles and lots of pride in the leadership team and what they have done and will continue to do. -

It depends on the ride I think if the bins are locked or not. I know Thunderbirds bins aren't but aren't The Voyages still locked? Either way, I took a really nice camera once and I didn't just want to throw it in the bin. The ride op was very very kind and thoughtful enough to ask if I'd rather them put it behind the control booth. I don't know that they are really SUPPOSED to do that, but its the kind of things their ride ops to do make things great for the guests. You might give it a try. It may or may not work. -

Ok first, all the third water coaster ideas are flipping amazing!!!! And it would all make sense with the old PP area. Also, the season pass platinum thing sounds AMAZING. That's prolly what I'll buy next year. The one bring a friend free per month will get used every month by me. -

Whoa... I could SO see Holiday World adding this. They would easily have the top 3 water coasters. Looks like it would have awesome capacity as well... And a third water coaster would be welcome to maybe lessen the load on the other two. I could see them placing this in that very very odd area where splashin Safari meets thanksgiving. (Aka where Hyena falls and the old PP is. EDIT: it could even go back into the woods and interact with The Voyage and Thunderbird. Imagine how awesome that would be! -

Did you read what I wrote? It's not saying anything, it's gibberish. Paula was not trying to start a new round of speculation, she was just pointing out that she THOUGHT we would take something as a clue when we didn't. I DID read what you wrote, but Paula ended with something to the effect of - I'll give you guys one last chance. Then posted the song again....as if she was giving us one last chance to catch something before she spilled the beans. -

Ok so update: I know it's incredibly sad for me to admit to this but I've played back the song at both various slower and faster speeds and can't make heads or tails of it. I'm gonna see if I can't figure out a way to play it in reverse maybe. Either way, it is entertaining and interesting to listen to how different it sounds at various speeds. You also notice just exactly how much lightning and crashing sounds are in the song too. I mean I always knew it was there of course, but when you slow the song down you can REALLY hear that thunder roar! EDIT: I bet I'm the laughing stock of the offices there at HW tomorrow, lol.
