  1. Everytime I see those girls talking I see and hear so much of their dad in them. I got to meet them at the Thunderbird media preview and they have his energy, heart, vision, and intelligence. So yea I too like when they are featured in videos and holiblog posts. I'm sure we will get to hear from them in the upcoming podcast too. And hopefully Matt as well. It's weird because he isn't technically a member of the Koch family, but meeting and interacting with him, you would never know the difference. They have a perfect storm of leadership, which is why this podcast excited me because it will be more opportunity to look in on that and see/hear the excitement and vision they have.
  2. I'm hoping for various interviews from various department heads in the podcast. I wouldn't expect a weekly podcast, because they do have secrets to keep, but I could easily see monthly podcasts having plenty of content. Think the Holiblog only with more information directed straight at fans/enthusiasts rather than the general public. The one thing I'm not sure about is who the heck on their staff has enough time for producing a podcast! I mean all the likely people are already extremely busy people.
  3. I guess I'm the only one excited about an official Holiday World podcast??
  4. Double down on The Legend!!! Also did anyone catch that they will be introducing a Holiday World podcast? That has me very excited!
  5. I just want everyone to keep this in mind as well... I forget where I read this, but whatever they are doing to The Legend is actually something Will had wanted to do himself. So it's gotta be some element or whatever that was around back then and not something that is new technology. EDIT: Paula do you see this? You are driving us all crazy!!! I hope you know that lol! Only you can help! Please send help for us!
  6. I think you all are on the right track (no pun intended) with the redoing of Halloween. My first thought was a head chopper added as well. When I go back to the blueprints that were behind one of the coaster cats from the wish list video, it almost appears as if the legend actually runs underneath itself near the station. Maybe I was looking at it wrong, but that would mean some realignment of the paths right there near The legend and Halloswings. Also, I too am wondering what is underneath the black plastic bag in this newest pic... Also if you look just the right right of the first drop of The Legend I can see a tall pole sticking up. I can't tell if it's just a light pole, or maybe a crane working near the first drop. Kind of hard to see and tell.
  7. Surly one of the more experienced peeps in this group could recognize these patterns? Has any other park done anything similar in the past? Or is this actually something unique to see happen?
  8. Doing some rewatching of the original "wish list" video. They DO indeed say "roller coaster tunnel" so we can be assured with that and jonskinny12's recollection that one of the coasters is getting an additional tunnel. I think someone mentioned the blueprint of The Legend being in the background of the video. I watched the video and paused it to take a look. Again, not being an engineer I'm not 100% sure what all we are looking at, but it looks to me that part of the course does indeed look different on that blueprint than what it has been. Of course, I could be wrong. Here is a screen shot I took of it. Also, going through old tweets I came to one that was posted with a picture. The text read basically points out that they were trying to figure where to put something. I have a screen shot of it with the text as well to share. Can anyone tell me where exactly in the park the pic was taken? Might be a clue of sorts to location.
  9. You and your... thinking... stuff! I think you're right. That phrase "Getting Closer, Interested" doesn't sound right- sounds more like they're deliberately pointing to GCI. You guys are on to something here!! I would be very pleased with a GCI retrack, this year I will be riding bot GhostRider and Legend, I'd prefer if both rides aren't rough. I don't know the engineering here, so I'll ask, but would a GCI retracking require the stakes that are in the ground?
  10. So I've watched this video a few times now and I am clueless. Apparently this is something that Will had always wanted to do to the Legend so I doubt the layout would change much. For the life of me I can't figure it out. Paula did REALLY good this time. EDIT TO ADD: I also wonder if they aren't adding a go-cart attraction of some type. They could use a tunnel on such a thing. She never ever said all that stuff was devoted to the coasters. The coasters themselves may just be getting slightly more than normal track work and the big thing would be the addition of the go-carts.
  11. Yup I was saying the EXACT same thing... Actually I think you and I were the ones having that conversation, lol.
  12. ^^^ I've been looking for the same around Frightful Falls AND Raging Rapids. I'd hate to loose either of them but both could use some updating as they are both aging.
  13. I was just thinking the same thing! Paula REALLY knows what she is doing there. Other companies would die to have her expertise. And the fact that they are doing anything this interesting at all after Thunderbird last year kinda blows me away. That family and their leadership is just phenomenal, inspiring, refreshing. What makes my anticipation even more so is the fact that they haven't said a specific day yet we would be hearing of what's going on. Which begs me to question why? There is something in this project I feel that will happen that will trigger us knowing exactly what is going on... Therefore they will have to tell us before that happens. Kind of like last year where they HAD to say when they did otherwise we would have seen the track and known.
  14. That's a LOT of hardware! As far as the now confirmed tunnel, they never said it was going on The Legend. They said all three woodies were getting some work, so it could go on any of them really.
  15. So I asked Paula....err... The Holiday World page.. If today was indeed the day we find out. I got the following response: "John - we were asked on Facebook yesterday for another clue and our response was "is tomorrow soon eough?""
  16. This would be amazing! I wasn't even aware such sorcery was possible. You very well may have nailed it!
  17. I seriously seriously doubt we will see any completely new coasters of any type this year. I'd bet $100 on it. Heck, I'd bet my entire life savings. Now a rework of an existing coaster I could see. The thing with trying to spot what's going on on the webcam is that The Voyage is do friggen long that the work could be in a place that the webcam can't see. And all three are so much build into the woodland that there are good portions of each of the coasters we can't see unless we were in the park ourselves due to the tree cover. It may be a smaller change than what we thought, but I imagine it's large enough to get more than a few of us excited for spring!
  18. Lol, I know right? It really was quite amazing watching them. And I was 9 at the time this video was taken so it even seemed more crazy... But even watching it now at 35 I'm just thinking... Umm NO... Makes me nervous watching lol. If I remember correctly they ran that show for a couple of seasons at least. But yea I'd love to see them bring this or something like it back. If they build a new bigger theater they could really put on an amazing show I bet!
  19. Way way way back in the day they had some Chinese acrobatic show. It was a really cool show(of course I was a kid back then) but it would be cool to see them bring something like that back. It was kinda like the Chinese version of Cirque. EDIT: Here is a link to a video showing part of the show. It's from Holiday Worlds video vault. The video is part of a series that was made way back then to help promote the park so this segment starts with the Thunder Bumpers. The Chinese acrobats start around 1:50 in. Those performers really were amazing. But I bet the expense for a show like that is crazy high. My brothers and sisters and I still always talk about that show when we go to the park.
  20. The problem comes when Holiday World announces they're building a B&M wing coaster and somebody says they're less than thrilled with that and you explode at them like they insulted your mother. I don't believe I've ever done that.
  21. So wait, I'm still confused.... Is it ok or not for me to be a Holiday World fanboy? Lol oh well I'm gonna be a fanboy anyway. Sure I can be a bit biased sometimes, but largely I'm being quite truthful and unbiased.
  22. Jeez man, a bit too much fanboying, per se? Holiday World does a fine job with their park, but they do make mistakes and not everything they do is a good decision. For instance, adding the trim brakes on Voyage earlier this year was not something that would be deemed "awesome" by Holiday World's fans as they essentially neutered what used to be one of the greatest wooden coasters of all time. Of course I'm a fanboy. You say that as if it's some bad word, but it isn't. Is that not why most of us are here? Because we are fans? I have been quite clear since I came here that I consider myself a Holiday World enthusiast more than a coast enthusiast. And I've always felt quite welcome. Not sure how what I said in anyway can be construed negatively at all. I'm a fanboy! So what? Oh and of course they can and do make mistakes... But it's extreme let rare and when they do, they quickly fix it (remember Pilgrims Plunge... They didn't mess around with it for too many seasons or dump loads of money into something that was just not going to work how it was supposed to). As for the trim breaks, it ABSOLUTELY was the right decision. Coaster fans may not like it but personally I don't even really notice the change and it was necessary for the longitivtiy of the ride. When it comes to coasters alone, I have not personally seen them make mistakes. They know coasters very very well.
  23. I personally think it's awesome they are doing whatever this is to The Legend. Yes it's always been an amazing coaster, but when you look at doing any MAJOR changes to any of the three woodies it seems like the wise choice. The Raven is almost historical in significance. It's a symbol of a large shift in the park towards what it is today. It's what helped get the park to where it is now in terms of coasters.... It helped put them on the map. The Voyage was Will's last. It was his baby all the way. It broke all the rules. Again it symbolizes a major shift forward for the park. It brought us a whole new holiday with some amazing rides and really excelled the park forward. It would be hard to go back and make any major major major changes to those two... Aside from track work or adding a small element here or there. However I believe The Legend was kind of Leah's baby. Wasn't it a birthday gift of sorts to her? And also symbolizes her being the "middle" child? (I think it's Leah, might be her sister, they are both so awesome it doesn't really matter). I could SO see her making her own special mark with this ride and making it really something very very special (not that it isn't already but you get the point). Honestly I can't even begin to guess what they would be doing to it. Last year oddly in some respects it was a bit easier to guess. We pretty much all agreed it was going to be a coaster of some kind and that it would be steel. This year all we have is a "wish list" from the coaster cats, a photo of so,e track being lifted away, and a strong hint at a new element somewhere on something. You really have to hand it to Holiday World... We all thought we would get very very minor improvements this year, none of us thought they would have us guessing.... Yet another year in a row... As to what the heck is going on. Only Holiday World can get the theme park lover community excited like this, about something like this. I have ZERO worries that whatever they are doing it's going to be awesome for them, the guests, and their fans. I'm just here for the amazing ride they put everyone on! (Pun intended) and am incredibly thankful they always always always make their fans apart of the excitement and fun.
  24. This is VERY VERY exciting! Wow... I don't even know what it is they are doing but I cannot WAIT to try these improvements out!
