  1. I love the park. I just wish it wasn't a three hour drive for me. Having $15 in tickets left is a good excuse to go back, though.
  2. I can't speak for weekday crowds, but I just got back from a full day there today (Sunday). The parking lot seemed quite full when I pulled in at around 11:30am, but the lines for most of the rides didn't seem that bad. The longest wait I had was for Impulse at a little over an hour. I got three rides on Phoenix. I can't rave enough about that coaster. I ended up buying 3 books of $20 worth of tickets. I still have $15 worth of tickets left. I rode Flying Turns and actually had a better ride than the one I had when I visited the park back in May. It could be because I was in the front car this time.
  3. Shockwave can go to the scrap heap along with all other stand-up coasters.
  4. I would not want to see them close the dry side. I like having a park to go to that has very short lines.
  5. Keep in mind that large crowds for Dorney Park are still smaller than large crowds for other parks.
  6. SFNE has a shuttle that takes you from the parking lot to the park entrance, so preferred parking is not really needed anyway.
  7. Lol when do you go, and define "long" I went on a Saturday and the line for it was long.
  8. No. Wicked Cyclone is only available on the Platinum Flash Pass.
  9. Wicked Cyclone gets long lines because it's the new hotness, so go there first. If you can afford it, get the Platinum Flash Pass and avoid the lines completely.
  10. Something like Buzzsaw at SFNE would fit nicely there.
  11. Hello all, I'm going to Kings Dominion for my first visit ever on September 5 which is a Saturday. Since I live in NJ this will be my only visit this season. Should I go ahead and splurge on FastLane or are the lines like those at Dorney Park?
  12. I agree with coasterbill about Hydra as well. My only complaint about the ride is that it's quite rough.
  13. I must be strange because I don't really enjoy rides that scare me. I prefer rides that are just plain fun.
  14. I never really make a plan of attack when going to a theme park, so I can't help you there. However, I always recommend getting to a theme park before opening. Since you're going on a weekday, the lines shouldn't be too bad.
  15. The ones made by Larson, such as these, don't seem to be easy to snap.
  16. That's a question I have always pondered. I wonder what the reason is for this phenomena?
  17. I was on the Tilt-a-Whirl when there was nobody in line, and the op would not let me ride again without going around to the entrance.
  18. Knoebels is definitely worth a 3.5+ hour drive. You should also ride Kosmo's Curves. From what almost everyone else on this thread has said about it, it's a pretty good coaster for a "kiddie" coaster.
  19. I didn't find the restraints on SkyRush to be painful at all. I did find the OTSR on Storm Runner to be a bit painful to my shoulders, tho.
  20. They have bins at some of their coasters. They're not like the ones at Dorney, though. They're just a bin with everyone's stuff all mingled together.
  21. If Impulse has re-opened by the time you get there, definitely ride it. Flying Turns is also a pretty neat coaster. I didn't get to ride Kosmo's Curves when I went, but the word on this forum is that it's a pretty good coaster for a kiddie coaster.
  22. Houdini's Great Escape at SFNE is good, but I prefer the one at SFGAdv.
  23. When I went there in June, I rode Bizarro several times and never once heard the music working.
