I think people are referring to how it has to get its lift cable replaced every season, a relatively complex train, new motors, the catch system on the lifts, etc. How often do you see other rides getting completely new lift chains every year? I would assume that its one of the top three most expensive rides in the park to maintain. Sad that the GIBs are such a faulty design as I'd love to see KD get one but vekoma messed up by designing it with a cable & catch car system instead of a chain. As we've seen from intamin with their vertical coaster at HP a standard chain would be feasible in place of the cable system for lifting trains on a vertical track but they obviously never took this into consideration when prototyping the design. How do you know they didn't take in to consideration on using a chain instead of a catch car? Also Intamins vertical chain lift engages the train at a complete stop and while horizontal to the ground. The GIB engages the train twice while vertical and with the train moving. And I imagine using a chain would put stress on the structure and train and would end up being more costly than the catch car set up they have now.

And to think this was originally suppose to be built in Long Beach CA. The park looks stunning, some day before I die I will visit. Great Update, and easily the best POV of Journey I've seen yet. -

I wonder how long it takes before Jagr starts "dying alive." I wish I could be at the first Pens vs Flyers game It Consol. That place is going to erupt with boos for both Talbot and Jagr.. -

There is only one Santa Clarita station. You will need to get a taxi to go from Santa Clarita station to the park as I don't think any buses run from that station to the park on weekends. If you are going to rely solely on public transit, you will need to go to Newhall station. From there you will need to transfer to any of the many buses that go to McBean Transit Center so you can get on the bus to Six Flags. http://santaclaritatransit.com/Index.aspx?page=3 -
^ Believe it or not, Knotts has plenty of Space to pull it off. I know Knotts has always wanted a traditional coaster that was over 200ft ever since Cedar Fair purchased the park. It would not surprise me in the least if I305 lift hill support structure was a test to see if the concept could work. Similar how Xcelerator was the test to see if Top Thrill Dragster would be feasible. Also 337 Feet is the rumored height. Please oh please let this be true.

I really hope the Kings and Oilers can get a deal done. I would love to see Smyths massive cap hit come off of LAs books so they can sign Doughty and go after Brad Richards or a top 6 winger. There are rumors going around the Pittsburgh and Toronto might reach a deal with Malkin going to the Leafs. I doubt its true, but it is coming from the same source that rumored the Richards trade. I really, really hope its not true. -
