  1. That train looks classy as hell. I always love how RMC trains look.
  2. I'm betting the New Jersey nanny state strikes again. "Total Mayhem" was just too much mayhem for the state of New Jersey and they had to crack down.
  3. The last time it recieved major retracking the results were nothing short of miraculous. Last year it wasn't *quite* as perfect but it was pretty darn close. I think maybe just the track immediately following the final chain lift is getting redone, but the track is straight-up gone, just like Holiday World is doing with the Legend.
  4. Twister is getting retracked and the Haunted Mansion queue is getting expanded, plus Power Surge is back, I can't remember if that had been confirmed yet.
  5. Is this the year of purple and green er wut?
  6. I had a lot of similar thoughts but honestly, I'm not that worried about it. Six Flags isn't really building "theme" parks any more, they're just building rides. A park like Hershey can put a ride in the middle of their park, name it Skyrush, and give it no theme whatsoever and no one complains. I think if we all just shifted our perception of Six Flags parks to high-budget vanilla amusement parks with a crap ton of DC theming, rather than Universal on the cheap, we'd stand to be disappointed a lot less. I feel like we should all be way past the point where yet another DC ride in yet another random area of the park is something to gripe about. It's a ride, I'll ride it, hopefully I'll enjoy it, hopefully they'll get another custom coaster soon, and that's about all there is to say. Still kinda hoping the name Total Mayhem gets recycled and used for something else. It makes the 12-year-old in me so happy.
  7. I seem to remember I was practically the only person on the entire forum who liked the original name. It reminds me of when Nintendo changed the name of their system from the Revolution to the Wii. Granted, this is much more predictable and nowhere near as confounding, but still, when you get attached to one name it takes a little bit of time to adjust to another. In a couple years it won't matter at all.
  8. The red looks SO much better. That purple was just the worst, really made the ride sink into the background.
  9. It's not like the old colors were that great either, but I really don't like the purple and green, and I really liked the name Total Mayhem. But what's the point of complaining? SF gonna do SF P.S. still a WAY better name then Val-f*ckin-ravn.
  10. It's so small you can't even face forward! I can't believe they let you ride like that. I hope it wasn't one of those super-jerky kiddie coasters or it looks like you'd be in for some serious pain.
  11. Let me get in on this Gemini love fest. Fun ride with a quick-moving line, a great first drop, and a real racing dynamic, where one train inches out in front, and then the other and then the other. In my heart it's a woodie, I know it's not really but to me it's an honorary woodie, and therefor an important part of the line up. I would be very sad to ever see it go.
  12. ^ I know you said predictions, but I have to address the blatant disregard for efficiency here. With regards to removing and replacing capacity, removing a ride that has an insane pph (thousands) and replacing it with a ride or even rides that couldn't top 1000 pph combined... come on... Try reading.
  13. You completely missed his point. Cedar Point will never get a eurofighter in any form because they are a relatively low capacity ride, it has nothing to do with how efficient CP's staff is.
  14. One turn to go before the MCBR...
  15. The purple doesn't really look that different to me. True the green is much less puketastic. Reeaaally seriously hoping that isn't what we end up with still.
  16. I would naturally prefer an ugly purple coaster that's fun to no coaster or a not fun coaster. Doesn't mean I wouldn't rather it not be purple and ugly. Dark red, yellow, even just purple or just green with neutral color supports, but please not purple AND green. ^Not ugly ^A little bit ugly ^Ugly as hell
  17. Hoping to get to ride this beauty for the first time this summer. I like the blue color...
  18. Purple and green would be freaking hideous. It looks fine popping out of a ton of brown wooden supports, but on a minimalist steel structure like this one it would be awful. It would be like the terrible repainting of Laser all over again.
  19. ^I used the last three major coaster installations as an example. Doesn't that indicate a trend? What reason is there to assume there won't be any theming? EDIT True, there doesn't seem to be any in any of the renderings, but that doesn't mean they won't surprise us. Again, just a few lights or sound effects timed to the drop would be more than nothing.
  20. This isn't really a fair criticism. Both Gatekeeper and Maverick use scenery placed nearby to enhance both the on and off ride experience. TTD doesn't have a lot of theming but the lights on the tower are actually a really clever way of ramping up the anticipation. The lights dictate when you launch, and they're towering over you, bringing home the scale of what you're about to experience. And it's a lot more than what you get with, say, Kingda Ka. It's totally reasonable to expect them to put some kind of theming on Valravn. It would be a massive disappointment if they did literally nothing, that's for sure.
  21. Again I'm personally not too upset about the buzz bars, if I had to pick between new restraints and those awful headrests I'd pick new restraints every time (but I also happen to be a fan of the classic PTC individual lap bars). I think the train actually looks really awesome, I love the design for the front car, way better than whatever the heck that thing was that got posted awhile back. PLEASE let this mean they're also doing a full retracking and removing the trims. I don't think the ride would be THAT different with the trims removed, but it would definitely make for a much better ending.
  22. <-------- not a fanboy or a local Toe the line, don't voice any negative opinions, love everything every park ever does always, or else be UNGRATEFUL
  23. ^The fact that it's not going to Dorney or a park that really needs it is 1/2 the reason it sucks.
  24. Hey I like Cedar Point, I think their line-up is fantastic. I don't think this coaster adds much to it. Heaven forbid anyone call out Cedar Point for their lack of creativity, right? What a shocking, controversial statement! Every new addition should be filling a need the park has. Cedar Point needs a great, modern woodie, or they need an indoor coaster, or a dark ride, or a water coaster, or etc. I don't see how this ride really offers a new experience for them. Plus it could've been half the size and been a great addition to any of their other parks.
