  1. Agree 100%. It is part of the reason I have always avoided it. That and convincing myself it would be uncomfortable. Re: the line - I only rode it the first time at Coasters After Dark since the park was empty and we literally walked onto the front row. Then this past Sunday I did it twice and only because we had a FP. Its totally worth the experience if you dont have to wait 2+ hours. the only time I ride superman or green lantern is first thing in the morning. they seem to have the slowest lines in the park.
  2. ill defiantly agree with El Toro and Nitro over Ka, but no way superman or medussa. Different strokes for different folks. Most hate on Bizarro but I absolutely love it. Its a smooth as hell coaster for having so many inversions and its well themed and just all around fun. The only downside to it are the loading times. I just recently did Superman:UF for the first time a few months ago after thinking Id hate it, and I think its one of the coolest coaster experiences I've ever had. I can't compare it to any other flyers as its the only one Ive done but it's definitely now in my top faves at the park and it has me dying to try Tatsu, etc. the main problem I have with superman, its the damn line. its been like that for yrs. its got to have the slowest workers out of anyride I have ever been on. anytime I ride it. we just hang in the brake area forever, like 4-5 min anytime I ride it. the park needs to do something about how slow they are at that ride.

  4. if you worried about lines, just go for the flash pass.
  5. wow, cant believe how far down sfgadv has fallen on that list. when I worked at the park in the mid 90's, they did 4 million guests. what a huge drop off
  6. not only need some live web cams on the website, they need to have a phone app for wait times. its 2014, how on earth does SFGadv not have a app for our smartphones.
  7. next, cedar point needs to improve the app and add wait times for all attractions
  8. SFGadv needs to add some webcams to their website.
  9. im 45 miles to SFGadv and about 80 miles to Dorney Park.
  10. Even during Fright Fest Sundays at SFGAdv are not crowded at all, so I think a sunday in June will be an amazing day to go. For what its worth, I was at the park on Sunday May 18th and Sunday June 1st and they were two of the most crowded days Ive seen at the park. With that said, Sunday will be likely less crowded than Saturday. well these past few sundays have been bring a friend free. I thinks it running from mothers day to fathers day.
  11. all parks should have a app for at least wait times.
  12. I wish SF would set up Ka like they do in cedar point, bleachers and the whole nine yards. you can literally spit on the track you are so close at cedar point.
  13. six flags never gets anything opened ontime
  14. I think that's ridiculous. I'm not saying they should use all the four as that apparently slows down the queue once it splits but they could use one side of the station with both the loading and unloading platform working. Given the trains only carry 18 it would be significantly better. Also, why did they go with only one row for the last car in the first place? I know the trains are made so that a last row can be added but why haven't they done that? someone wrote on the SFGAdv thread that only using one loading/unloading area and only running 3 trains gives them the best capacity. i dodnt buy it, and still think its a money issue. TTD uses 5 trains and has 2 loading areas and the separate unloading areas. I work at GADV and I know for a fact the ride gets better numbers now then it did when it used all 4 load stations. Last year was the first time the ride gave over one million riders in a season. The switch track would slow down cycles because you had to wait for it transfer which wasn't the quickest process. Plus the switch track would have problems a lot and cause the ride to go down. Idk why the park doesn't switch in the last row of seats in on Ka but that's up to management. 1 loading platform is used in place of four for better capacity and to save on expenses. Not using the switch track makes sense, but why not use the second station behind the one in use for unloading? I just don't mathematically see how it would be more efficient to not have a separate, connected unloading station like MF utilizes. To answer your question, the park staffs 4 people to check the 18 passenger trains on Kingda Ka rather than use an unload platform. This way, trains can checked and dispatched faster to make up for the lack of an unload station. Plus the ride runs 2 trains a lot so having an unload station really only works well if you have 3 trains. Thanks for the answer. It makes sense, but seems a little cheap to not want to hire two more attendants to improve capacity on the park's main draw for out of town guests. His brings up another question, though. Why do they have four attendants on Ka, checking four to five seats each, and two on El Toro and Nitro, checking 18 seats each? It would make sense to be just the opposite, IMO. Thanks Ryan. Yeah that is kind of backwards but Ka needs to send out way more trains an hour than Toro or Nitro do to get good numbers. I think they shoot for atleast 60 trains an hour there while El Toro shoots for 30 an hour. I'm not sure about Nitro but probably around 40. Ka needs those extra people in order to do so since it's OTSR can't be checked as fast as lapbars. Although I feel like all of our rides could use 4 people checking restraints. When we have 4 people checking at Toro, it's almost impossible for us to stack. That's a decision made by management though. it all comes down to $$$$$ when rides only have 2 compared to 4. that's why to this day I still feel the attendant at the ride entrance is a waste. people still come up to the platform with bags and crap. and fat people still dodnt try the test seat and slow the whole ride down. the gate attendant at most rides is not doing the job they are supposed to be doing. id rather the parks have a grouper in the station. this season, I have never seen so many empty rows or empty seats in my life.
  15. obamas tree huggers and wacko green people will make sure nothing gets built by the lake. cant hurt the turtles
  16. i was going to say it might be open buy aug of 2015. lol

  18. Double stations aren't always faster. It depends greatly on dispatch intervals, which are very slow with flying coasters. I believe SFGam got the 8 car trains to make up the lost capacity, if I'm not mistaken. Not *Everything* Six Flags does is being cheap or lazy. double stations also cost more $$$$$ to operate, need more employees. SFGAdv only uses one loading/unloading area on kingda ka out of 4.
  19. Winter didn't seem to slow down Banshee . . . . or just about any major ride at Cedar Point. It's called advanced planning. If you start construction sufficiently in advance, you can handle even worst case weather scenarios. just goes to show how much better run cedar point and kings island are.
  20. so whats the word? when is media day for Zumanjaro?
  21. youd think these parks would want the new attractions open ASAP, and hire some more construction workers and go to 3 shifts, 24/7 and get these rides open. six flags is just a joke on how they operate. no excuse not having a new ride open by now.
  22. I am going to sound weird by saying this, but the OTSR's don't bother me. When I put my arms up, they won't whip me forward like on TTD, and it makes for a more pleasant experience in MY opinion. Well considering your arms are supposed to be down during the launch, this shouldn't be a problem in the first place. lol, like guests follow the rules on rides.
  23. KA needs to get rid of the OTSR's. the ride would be so much better.
