If you really had "forgotten this park exists," then how are you one to argue for a management change? If you had kept up on the park, you would realize that not only is SFA much more than just "2 relocated coasters since 2001." This park has probably made the most impressive turnaround if any SF park in the last five years, and actually has a more well rounded ride collection and waterpark than many of its competitors, not to mention a very friendly staff and a clean atmosphere. How can you say Cedar Fair would manage the park better than SF is, if you haven't kept informed informed on the park's recent happenings? Seriously, I'm tired of people bashing this park and looking in its past (which is interesting for a 15 year to do, actually). I agree big time. Sure, I'd love to see a brand new coaster, etc, but I'm not complaining too much. I always have a good time there. Sometimes hand me downs are not that bad, because it's 'new' to the park. The regular patron does not think of the ride as a hand me down. One of the 'hand me downs' always has one of the biggest lines (ragin Cajin). A Roar RMC is not 'too' big for the park right now. My money is on 2017. Most people have in their mind what negative things were said over the years. When they get there, it's all they think about, when there is actually nothing wrong. I'm guilty to a certain extent. I just took the park for what it was in 2012, then my eyes actually opened; I realized that SFA actually was/is a pretty fun place. One thing is for sure, I like the employees way better than any other park, save for Disney on where there is no equal.

Well, i was bored today and decided to head to the park with my 2 year old. Fireball is up and running. People seemed to have liked it quite a bit. People were on the ride for quite a while. Seems to take forever to get around the loop. When it does, it flies. Wasn't able to ride today, but took the new path. When you exit the fireball, the path takes you to both Mardi Gras and Gotham.

I actually agree. As for myself, I never really compare. I love SFOG, but never compare it to other parks. In other words, I just take every park for what it is. I use to love KD, but now I'm kinda tired of it. Busch Gardens never gets old though. Funny, if I compare, Cedar Point makes all others look like mall carnivals IMO (exaggerating a bit, but not much). As long as I have a good time, that's a win for me. As for the shade, I like being in the sun (I'm a beach person). That's what makes me say that a lot of shade is relative. When I'm at the park and want shade, I go under one of the structures,or head to the middle where the swings are; there are big trees there. Water park opens next week FTW!

Nope. Running two. It would have been lunacy to run one yesterday. There were a lot of folks in the park on Saturday. I was there between 2-6. One of Roar's trains got stuck on the lift hill yesterday too. The other was on the brake run while it was stuck. I bring that ride up, because I did not get on it. Almost wish I did not ride Batwing. Waited face up in the sun while the other train was being loaded. Maybe a lot of shade is relative. I had no complaints. Maybe I will snap photos next time.

Went to the park today. Good time as always. Everything was open, and all rides were running two trains (except mind eraser, which its second train wasn't even on the aux track). I'm basically on here to debunk this no shade thing. I'm guilty of blasting the park for having 'no' shade. There is plenty. Next time anyone goes to the park, actually pay attention like i finally did. There is plenty around most of the seats, under structures, along the edges, etc. Also, there are big a$$ umbrellas in most of the areas. I actually started taking pictures of the shade before realizing that I had to constantly keep my phone out. Could they use a little more? Sure, but it is inaccurate to say that there is absolutely 'no shade'. Some act\sound like they would like a retractable dome around the entire park...lol

^^100% agree. About Wild One: I think they leave it like that on purpose. You know, keep the whole 98 years old theme going. Having gone to the park every year for the last 3 (use to go all of the time between 99-2005 though), I've seen a great many improvements. Best of all, I always have a good time.

The park still having the same issues comment. I've been here for years too. You are talking to a guy that swore that I'd never go back. My daughter bugged the hell out of me in 2012 to go back; I've been a season pass holder since. The park is a whole lot different than it used to be. Better employees; 'somewhat' better ops; better upkeep; great Mardi Gras section upgrade last year; the list goes on. You can tell from reading Tripadviser that folks say the same things about the turnaround. Are some things still missing....?..Absolutely! Need newer rides, etc. You went on a bad day. They just opened on Fridays. A 'great many' of their employees were/are still in school. They have been running two trains on Saturdays, and, all of their shops are open on the weekend. You are right about the shade though...kinda. There is plenty by the swing and under the big a$$ umbrellas...lol

Went today for a few. Fun as always. Here are some pics of the progress to the path and JJ's support beam. The path it's coming together nicely. They have a fence and a rooftop type structure going under The Wild One. Half of the support beam is repainted. The other half is primed. Painter must have taken a half day that day. Path Beam
