  1. I'm pretty sure I've said this already here but other than the fact that we have 5 already, I really don't understand where all this B&M hype is coming from. People really think the park would get a SIXTH B&M? I really don't think it's going to happen and I personally hope it does not. An S&S freespin, a custom RMC, or a Premier launcher are much more likely IMO, and all 3 are a much better fit for the park.
  2. So as long as its not rainy, we'll be at this park the Friday afternoon before Memorial Day weekend. We'll only be there for 5-6 hours in the middle of the day and we don't have the budget for any type of skip-the-line pass here. Because of that I'm curious to know what some folks think the best plan of attack is in order to hit up ALL seven of the coasters and some of the flats without wasting a lot of time waiting in lines (priorities are Black Widow, Bayern Kurve, Swing Shot, but I'm open to suggestions). Hoping to be there at opening, but that's not guaranteed.
  3. I still can't even believe this thing is real. And only 4 hours away.
  4. Personally love the colors on this thing, no doubt the best looking of these clones.
  5. Ahhh makes sense. That was a time in my life I forgot the park even existed.
  6. ^ Should have posted with the picture was this text: "2016 here we come......The location and more pics will be up at GAHistory later. They are surveying to mark out all the water lines in that area for when the digging start's."
  7. Alright kids heeeeeeeere we go! Spotted at the park today: (via SF Great Adv Connoisseurs group again) Could be nothing, but also could be something!!!!
  8. I don't know, it kind of brightens up that ride ^ lol
  9. ^^ Wait was there a Geico ad there before? I thought it was just rusted beyond comprehension. And the removal of the Jersey Boys/Toro ad is a huge score, I HATED that! Especially now that we have such great views of Toro from Zumanjaros queue now.
  10. oh snap. (source: SF Great Adventure Connoisseurs FB Group)
  11. Main reason Dragster is a priority is to try it with the lapbars, I'm actually really excited about that. I know I'm the king of calling Ka a one trick pony, and I do feel that way, but honestly - other than having my collarbones pummeled into submission, I really enjoyed my two rides on Ka this past Friday. Maybe it was the fact that it was a walk on and then a re-ride in the same seat. Its frustrating waiting a long time for a ride that is 20 seconds long and that's really my main gripe with it.
  12. Oh yeah...may have to make a trip out just for this! Link Oh snap this is awesome! I had no idea this would be going on while we are there! Anyone know if this would be included in our "park admission" that we purchased with our Breakers reservations? Even if its like $10-15 extra I'd pay for it. I usually find it hard to say no to beer and/or BBQ.
  13. ^ ^ On one hand I am kind of hoping for cloudy/overcast/chance of rain to keep crowds lower but I don't want to drive all the way out there to sit in the hotel bar for two days. We'll definitely be getting FL+ and definitely be taking advantage of early entry for rides on Maverick and Millenium (I don't think Dragster is included in this but I guess we can queue up for it right before park opens, right?). I know Millie gets mixed reviews from enthusiasts but even if it isnt filled with airtime it LOOKS great and its obviously legendary so its a huge motivation behind me getting out to this park. Same with Gatekeeper. I have yet to ride a wing coaster and it looks fun. And Maverick just looks perfect. So stoked for that one. The fact that they have a really solid line-up otherwise doesn't hurt. As far as Millenium night rides - no doubt. You're not the only one that has suggested it to me so I'll definitely shoot to make that happen. Thats the great thing about staying on site - there's zero reason to rush out of the park at night since we're just a short walk back to the hotel. I'm really, really excited we decided to splurge and stay @ Breakers, I have a feeling its going to make a our trip great.
  14. Oh man, the last time I rode any kind of Tea Cups was @ Morey's about 15 years ago. It was that moment of exiting the ride and heading straight for the trash can when I realized I was no longer a kid that could ride just about anything. That long forgotten feeling reared its ugly head again when I did Rajin Cagun @ SFA last year. Ugh. No spinny rides for me (except Flyers, for some reason I am fine on them).
  15. Sorry for the doublepost, but this photo gives you an idea of how high off the pier these Flyers will be. And consider the pier itself is 20+ feet above the beach. Add in those ocean winds and you've got a big bucket of amazing. So stoked. (photo courtesy of Wildwood365)
  16. Welp, we are under a month away from our first ever road trip to the Roller Coast. Just bumping this to update everyone that responded (thanks again for all the advice!) and to see who will be on the peninsula with us that weekend and would maybe want to meet up for a few rides. (PM me if so!) After all the decisions and planning it looks like our trip will shake out more or less like I posted above: Still planning on leaving Philadelphia via car EARLY Friday morning (6/7am) and head out toward Pittsburg. If the weather is nice we plan to stop at Kennywood Friday afternoon and hopefully hit all the coasters and a few flats. Top priority: Phantom, Sky Rocket, the woodies, Black Widow, Bayern Kurve. If its crappy/rainy we'll probably skip it and head right to the Point. Hershey is out of the picture completely. We're planning on maybe hitting it up later this summer. I can't believe its actually happening. I've wanted to go to CP forever and the fact that I'll be there in less than a month is blowing my mind. I'm especially excited to ride Millenium, Maverick, Gatekeeper, Dragster, Raptor and Rougarou. Now I've just gotta keep myself busy at work and pray it doesn't rain all weekend we are there.
  17. If the park did things that make sense they would have late night ERT on El Toro/Tango, since its Cinco De Mayo. But we know that probably won't be the case. Not to mention last weekend they had early morning ERT on the Tea Cups, Houdini and the Carousel of all rides. LOL lamesauce!
  18. Morey's just posted these pics of the new Flyers arriving on their FB page. If you haven't been following along KONG will be the centerpiece (and name) of the ride, and the entire thing is being built on top of a store. Between the themeing, the fact you'll be an additional 20 feet off the ground while riding, and those ocean winds, this has the potential to be one of the best installations of this ride. I'm so stoked, hoping to get down one weekend in May, though I'm sure they're aiming for a Memorial Day weekend opening.
  19. Definitely Cedar Point on Memorial Day weekend, but I'm sure I'll be @ Great Adventure at some point before then on a whim.
  20. Honestly I have no idea. I only knew it was Chance because Morey had it listed on their site (I posted the link earlier in the thread). I do know that the model they have now is pretty brand-spanking-new looking and offers a much better ride that the "Sea Dragon" they had for years prior. edit: google helped me to find this article about the accident/lawsuit where it states the old version WAS a Chance model and had been in operation for 29 years. Hope that answers your question.
