^ If that's directed at me (I did mention those two things in my post a couple pages back) I specifically mentioned the capacity thing because I know they are both around the same. That's not my issue with it. I just don't see it as a fit to the park. It's not enough splash/pizzazz for a big park like Great Adventure. And personally Id like a nice launcher and not a puke machine. But thats just me.

All I got outta the last two pages is this jawdropper. -
^ I am really pulling for a Premier launcher. I can't wait for the announcement, now that other parks are doing their own. Speculation for all of the SF parks is very very quiet this year. I know I am in the minority and part of me feels like there absolutely no chance but I hope the park pulls out a really nice surprise. I know I'm setting myself up for complete disappointment. It would be different than anything we have, and imagine a giant vertical loop (obviously bigger than Throttle because records, yo) looking fantastic at the end of Main Street and in front of the lake. Also it just seems like such a huge amount of space they are freeing up that I am praying its for something other/larger than a freespin. (Yeah I know its rumored we're supposed to get the bigger model, its still a huge amount of space for even that). I personally just have little interest in the freespins, they look like puke machines to me, and not that the capacity is considerably better/worse than Full Throttle, it just doesn't seem as good a fit as a full course coaster for this park. In addition, I would love if the park had another (not so intense) launcher besides the insanity that is Kingda Ka.

Had a conversation w/ a friend about this so thought this might be interesting to post here. Knowing my luck there is probably a thread about this (mods please merge if so?) What is everyones favorite product/model from each manufacturer? Obviously it should be something you have actually ridden. For instance mine would be: B&M - inverts Intamin - hypers/blitz/prefabs Premier - spaghetti bowl launcher S&S - Screaming Swing Larson - drop tower Arrow - mine trains? lol Vekoma - SLC (its either that or boomerang for me, at least SLCs are not boring) HUSS - enterprise Funtime - Star Flyer Morgan - hypers Chance - Pharaoh's Fury/swinging ships Schwarzkopf - Bayern Kurve

I love google image search. But this ruins my assumption that his top hat was in fact glued to his scalp. -
CJ Barrymores to add 2 rollercoasters.

I'm willing to bet actual money they are the two that Playland's Castaway Cove are removing for Gale Force. If you guys are getting a Flitzer, that's pretty awesome. -
Any news on the 2014 Mitch Hawker poll?
boldikus replied to kweiss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Sorry to bump this but I have been curious if this poll has ever popped up this late in the season or should we assume its just not happening in 2015 since it hasn't been announced yet? Personally I'm pretty bummed as my ballot last year was pathetic (just hovering around 40 creds) and I kind of felt like an ass voting at all. However, since that time I'm gotten twice as many credits and my top 20 is vastly different this year and finally filled with quality machines after visits to Hershey, Dorney, Cedar Point and Kennywood. I was so hyped to vote this year... :/ -
Most Anticipated Coasters For 2016
boldikus replied to I305forever's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Obviously I'm interested in whatever Great Adventure is getting (fingers crossed for a BIGGER Full Throttle clone in front of the lake), but I think at this point since its so close to me and looks so cool my answer is Gale Force @ Playland (Ocean City). Also curious to know what other parks near me have up their sleeve - Hershey, Dorney, SFA, Morey's, etc. Not expecting coasters for those but you never know... -
Worst Coaster Ever?
boldikus replied to Mind Eraser's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Agreed! Corkscrew is far more painful than Mean Streak, it actually might be one of the worst rides I've been on. I actually think Blue Streak was the most painful ride on my Cedar Point trip. Then again, I was sitting in the final row. I went back later to re-ride near the front and it wasn't so bad. Gemini was my worst there... Corkscrew was almost as bad for Mean Streak for me. But where Mean Streak was just unbelievable rough, boring and painful, Corkscrew was just boring with some random/weird/not too pleasant maneuvers. Gemini and Blue Streak were two surprises of my trip - I loved both of them and couldn't believe how much. Blue Streak is fantastic - rough in a good classic wood coaster way but not in a painful way. Great airtime. Rode in front and back and enjoyed both. Gemini I thought was smooth with some great airtime and some surprising drops. The racing aspect helped making it awesome as well. I rode this last year in the back and would have agreed 100% with you. Then I tried it in the front a few months ago and it was so much better. Not like Top 20 better, but not one of the worst I've been on... -

I don't know about last Friday but the last Wednesdays have been busy (I was there last Weds and the one before). I did go on a BAFF Friday in August last year and it was brutal, but we were OK with a gold FP. I just noticed this in the passholder email that went out this week. Not bad, especially considering how Nitro night rides are completely amazing. I might be in for this.

Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Without having the specifics in front of me, I know its something like one skip-the-line to use for each coaster, and you don't get to pick your seat. I'm sure one of the locals on here can give more detail. Thanks for the rain policy info. I am trying to choose a weekday to go later this month but will have to plan in advance due to work (I have to have someone cover me) meaning Id be going rain or shine. With GreatAdv this isnt an issue since I know they'll run everything unless lightning. I wouldn't mind a rainy day @ Hershey as it would keep the crowds away just don't want to go all the way out there (2.5 hour drive) for a day trip and have everything shut down all day. -

How is Hershey's rain policy? -
Yeah I have to admit I snagged a bunch to use as desktops and FB banners. @ElToroMillieniumForce - You could easily make money doing this imo. Create a portfolio and send it to every parks marketing department, followed up with a phone call. There are select few posters on here (Invertalon comes to mind but there are others) whose photos go way beyond the enthusiast trip report style photos in terms of composition, depth, color, crispness, etc. and you are one of them. These could be used for marketing. My photos are completely awful (my camera sucks not to mention I'm completely impatient and just shoot at random when I remember to) so I apologize for any and all of my trip reports lolz. It cuts deep when I come across threads like these.

So I know this is not really likely since they just added Laff Trakk but has anyone pointed out or noticed that 2004 - Stormrunner 2008 - Fahrenheit 2012 - Skyrush 2016 - New Intamin ??? It's probably not likely but how great would that be. Yank out Wildcat and put in a Balder clone -

As Intimidator305 mentioned, they were sold already. Besides, Morey's still maintains its Flitzer after all these years and the thing runs great and that's 30 minutes south, and is anyone really going to miss a Painfari looper!? Gale Force is a huge upgrade and a big move for this park. I'm stoked! -

If you are familiar with the piers here is an idea of where its going to go (right where their Flitzer and other small junior coaster is so they may be getting removed)
