  1. The windows tend to stay fog free the most by turning on the heater AND the AC (the AC pulls moisture out of the air). Leave the recirculate button off, so that the car is pulling cold air in from the outside (it'll be less humid). Also the fastest way to warm-up an engine (and get heat) is to drive the car. Don't floor it to redline until the engine is warm, but drive a little gently for the first mile or two (depends how cold it is). There are times in Chicago where I get in my car in the morning and it's 0 degrees (that's Fahrenheit), and I start driving only about 30-60 seconds after starting the engine. Within just a few minutes the heater is blowing toasty warm air at me. Cameron.
  2. ^^ Umm - aside from the fact that the 4S looks the same as the 4, it's actually an entirely new device. The 5 will likely be the same as the 4S, just in a new enclosure (ie: you'll be buying hardware that's already a year old..). Cameron.
  3. With Apple releasing phones once a year, they are actually the slowest of all platforms to become obsolete. IOS5 still works on iPhone 3GS (with most important features, like iCloud and wireless sync), and that phone was released in 2009 - it even runs better than IOS4 did. Compare to Android where Google has stated the latest version won't work with the original Nexus (which was released 6 or 7 months after the 3GS). And if you buy a non-nexus Android phone, you can pretty much expect no updates ever (in fact a large number of Android phones are shipping right now with software that's already out of date, they will likely never be updated). Apple is actually doing a tremendous job supporting older hardware (which is not something I ever thought I'd be able to truthfully say!). Cameron.
  4. That is obviously some strange new usage of the word "enjoyment" that I wasn't previously aware of.. New coaster or not, I'd personally love to see Iron Wolf gone, it's an embarrassment. Cameron.
  5. Other than the "cute" appearance of the two cars, I really don't see the Mini as a fair comparison .. it's more like a VW GTI in terms performance and handling, while the Fiat 500 (base model) seems more like a standard Golf. So yeah, I'm not surprised you enjoy the Mini more Cameron.
  6. So twice last week (maybe the week before) I saw new Fiat 500s driving around. Both were white with black rims and looked quite sharp. The other day I saw a stunning red VW Karmann Ghia, and then yesterday evening a VW Scirocco (MK1 - my favorite). It's been a good few weeks for car spotting Cameron.
  7. But not every ride operator is necessarily as astute or caring as you are. That's no excuse - when you're operating a dangerous piece of machinery, you have to pay attention to everything. Cameron.
  8. VR6 <3 <3 <3 I have owned three VR6s: a 1993 Corrado, a 1997 Jetta, and now a 2004 R32. I just love love love that motor! Cameron.
  9. ^ Unless the park was waiting for some paperwork (state inspection? permits?) to come through and they finally got the OK today.. (Purely a guess - I don't actually know anything). Back to Elissa's comment - I'm banging my head against the wall trying to remain positive (and to be fair, I haven't even visited the park this year), but it's getting harder and harder with everything I'm hearing. Time will tell, I guess .. Cameron.
  10. ^^ hawt! Any chance of a trip out to his studio? There could be a F8 growler in it for you Cameron.
  11. Wow - they did an awesome job on this! Love the yellow loop.. Thanks for covering it, Larry. Cameron.
  12. This. Parks need to change in order to stay relevant, otherwise you end-up with crap like Cedar Point - which still thinks all it needs to do is barf up a coaster every year or two (and make up some records for it to break). Sorry, but that's a yawn-fest. I was also upset when I first read that the swings had been moved, but it's not like nothing is replacing them. The ropes and zip-lines could be really fun, at least give them a chance. Even if the park hadn't been sold, the previous owners would have to make changes too - yes, it was a **wonderful** park 5 years ago, but it's just not possible to stop time. Space is very limited at Indiana Beach, yet they've found a way to add (what sounds like) a massive addition without losing a single ride. That's fantastic! (OK, so the mini-golf at the south end of the boardwalk is gone - I don't thing I ever saw people play it..). Cameron.
  13. Indiana Beach recently posted some construction pictures on their Facebook page. Looks like Adventure Point is being built at the south end of the boardwalk, and some rides are being moved to make room: YoYo, Falling Star and Music Express. These rides will be relocated to the area between Hurricane and Steel Hawg (next to the log flume - where all that empty space was). The platform for the YoYo is still present, and comments on the photo imply that one zip-line will travel from there all the way to the DoubleShot. I admit I'm kind of bummed that the YoYo was moved (and the Falling Star since the view was awesome), but I'm still optimistic that the zip-lines will be a worthy replacement.. Here are some photos from the Indiana Beach Facebook page. Other pictures show construction for a new entry plaza in the south lot. No more YoYo - but possibly fun zip-line. New location for the YoYo, Music Express and Falling Star. Will be so nice to see this space filled-in. New (very welcome) entry plaza in the south lot.
  14. Wow - that thing looks fantastic! I just love the small/insane wooden coasters, and I'm seriously drooling over that. Cameron.
  15. Quattro <3 <3 Anyway, cars from my birth-year (1973) .. Volvo P1800. My first car was a hand-me-down (from my parents) 1978 Volvo that we bought new (when I was 4!), so I have a real soft-spot for that brand.
  16. I'm doing part of the drive on Saturday night after ERT. I'm hoping to do 2-3 hours, but it'll depend upon when ERT ends and how wired I am. I don't have a hotel booked for Saturday night, we'll just drive until we're tired and then find a hotel off the interstate. I'm flying in and out of San Antonio though (doing Sea World on Friday), so I don't need to get back up to Dallas on Monday. This will also be my first time in Texas. Cameron.
  17. Hanno, you rock. Those pictures were just spectacular, and the ride itself looks pretty darn fun too Cameron.
  18. If they removed Demon there would be a buttload of space (combined with Splashwater Falls / Antique Cars area). I know it's not likely to happen - especially since Iron Wolf is a far better candidate for removal. Should be an exciting few years, though! Cameron.
  19. Don't be scared of the weather. TPR has proved time and again that it can party even in immense rain. Cameron.
  20. Dammit TPR, you evil temptress! I can't believe I'm looking at flights Cameron.
  21. Great photos! That pizza looked delicious, and you got to make your own Muppet! (What did you name him?) Thanks for the pics.. Cameron.
  22. No love for the Barbie Fiat 500??! allworldcars.com/wordpress/?p=11086 Cameron.
  23. Biggest problem with the Android tablets (aside from the fact that there are currently none on the market), is that none of them can seem to get within even $100 of the iPad's price. How's that for a turn of events?! Cameron.
  24. I resisted for a long time, but finally setup "limited profile" and "medium limit" lists to which I add people I've never met (mostly pinball enthusiasts from around the world - who don't need to see my vacation photos, etc), or people I'm just not that close to. Spent an afternoon last fall setting it up all, and now I'm pretty happy with it. However that might be too simplistic a solution for your case.
  25. This looks so awesome - and really fills a void (there seems to be so many coaster rating/comments websites, but nothing really of quality at the park level). The design also looks spot-on - you guys are doing a really fantastic job. Cameron.
