Photo TR: It's About Dollywood, Dang It!

Such an awesome report, of a really awesome weekend Cameron (Reports of my death are greatly exaggerated) Silver -
Hi, I'm Cameron. I live in Chicago, but I grew-up in Australia. I had a pretty happy and blessed childhood, so I feel it's important to try and help others do the same. I've been a member of the TPR forums since The Beginning (and ordered videos long before that), and just love all the crazy shenanigans. I've been on two trips (UK 2006 and Europe 2010), both of which were or course awesome. I've also been on a few Orlando trips, and to several Bashes. I really cherish my amusement park hobby as it's an excuse to play outside and meet amazing and excellent people. This is a wonderful community. Professionally, I'm a programmer who's worked on various type of games, and am now working on slot machines. (Nope, they're not rigged - sorry). I've seen some very generous donations so far, so let's please all keep that up! I'm not the type to try and make people feel guilty, but I am totally the type who'd embarrass himself in order to get more donations. Cameron.

TPR's SFGAm X-Flight Construction Tour!
Cameron replied to mcjaco's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Having seen the ride, I'd be extremely surprised if there wasn't enough clearance (these engineers aren't amateurs - they know how wide the trains are). Besides, one train isn't even going to get off the lift until the preceding one is safely on the final brakes. I think you're looking for non-existent problems here. Cameron. -
Saw this one morning while driving to work earlier this year. The badge in the center of the trunk-lid is for Loeber Motors, a big Merc dealer in Chicago. There is also (and I swear I'm not making this up) a Mercedes emblem on the front of the hood.

TPR's SFGAm X-Flight Construction Tour!

Matt really wasn't over-doing it at all - X-Flight a stunningly impressive looking ride. I have to admit that I was a bit blasé about this ride until some of the first construction pics started rolling in, and then to see it in person I was sporting a hard ... umm - hat ... all afternoon. Really looking forward to taking flight in May; X will certainly mark the spot at SFGAm in 2012! Cameron "your Punning Australian" Silver -
I'm curious about what it is on V2 that would cause it to go through trains more than any other coaster (and why the trains would be more expensive). In fact isn't it pretty rare that a coaster has an entire train replaced? Since V2 has no turns, and not-terribly-extreme forces, I'm surprised to hear that the train falls apart so rapidly that is has needed to be completely replaced twice in just 10 years (rather than yearly maintenance). I will be riding at Michigan's Adventure: www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/cameronsilver/MichigansAdventure This will be one of the few times this summer that I won't be chained to my desk at work - so, donate! Seriously though, Michigan's Adventure is a great little park and Cedar Fair deserves lots of props for putting all of this together. It's for a fantastic cause, and we all get to have bucket-loads of fun! In fact a recent report was put together stating that 9 out of 10 people who don't donate will be squashed by elephants. True story.. Cameron.

Just buy a car that's fast enough so that all anyone ever sees is the rear end - then the front plate isn't a problem!

^^ That gives me impure thoughts..

^ 0-60 time is such a minor part of a car's worth - there are many, many factors that go into making a car enjoyable to drive, responsiveness being a huge one. I'd wager that a Scion is far more responsive than your Regal. Now if it was a Buick Grand National .. Mmmmm Cameron.

Awesome! Congratulations - and a fine choice. As for the stick-shift I will repeat what I said on Facebook a few weeks back Cameron.

I've always found the EVOs to be really cheap feeling, I'd totally go with Subaru (their 4wd system is probably superior too..) Cameron.

I admit that I have a bit of a thing for architecture. I haven't officially studied it in any way, but there are loads of buildings which I just love. I thought it might be fun to see what other people like too. I'll start with two of my favorites: The first is of course the Sears Tower in Chicago. Not sure why I like this one so much, it's just a cool almost humble building. Plus I work close enough to it that I pretty much see it every day Another absolute favorite of mine is the Chrysler Building in New York. I know it doesn't get anywhere near the attention that the Empire State building does (which I consider to be terribly over-rated), but I'm just in awe of it's art-deco awesomeness. Anyone in Manhattan should definitely take a peek inside; security won't let you far into the lobby, but what you can see is just stunning. Cameron.

I actually quite like the LED accents around headlights - although I still loath most LED tails.

?? This is like the best time for small cars in the US for probably close to 20 years. Sure the range still sucks compared to Europe, but it sucks so much less than it has in the past. There are awesome small cars currently available from Subaru, VW, Mazda, Infiniti, Scion, Fiat, Audi, Honda, Mini. Does Mitsu have anything cool out now? Cameron.

^ Awesome! Looks like a fantastic car too. The ad reminded me of this classic: He mumbles: rev counter She: What? REV COUNTER? He: yyeeah... No No. uuh, I didn't say that. She: Yes, YOU did... He: hmmm She: GO! That would never happen in real life - oh no..!

^^ Oh yes - if there is actual ice on the windscreen you don't want to blast surface-of-the-sun hot air against it!Sure, it will technically get rid of the ice, but it's just not fun to drive without a windscreen when it's below freezing. Cameron.
