  1. Send him to Busch Gardens Williamsburg.
  2. If my facts are correct, Cedar Fair has the Dinos alive lease until 2018 or 2019. When they leave their respective parks, I think that something Dino-themed should take their place. It makes sense financially: They already have a gift shop built with some Dinosaur merchandise. Of course, the attraction would be different for each park. My thoughts about replacements: Valleyfair: family launch coaster, probably Mack Worlds of Fun: Same as Valleyfair King's Island: GCI wooden Cedar Point: either a PolarCoaster, Intamin Mega-lite, or GCI wooden Canada's Wonderland: B&M wing coaster Carowinds: GCI wooden King's Dominion: Hyper coaster, probably Intamin Dorney Park: this one's been rumored already GCI wooden Again this is all speculation and fantasy on my part. Feel free to comment your thoughts.
  3. I heard that when Afterburn/Top Gun was built, it was to have a Godzilla name/theme before Roland Emmerich f'd it up. Does anyone know what the name/theme would have been after the sell to Cedar Fair?
  4. And let's not forget what happens when we take a camera on a roller coasterhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zGK8ezytHNs
  5. People on this thread have been talking about us getting B&M trains for Wild Thing. I would like this, but with Morgan's new trains on KK's Lightning Run, I wonder if we'd more likely get those than B&M's. While on the subject of B&M products, what elements do people want to see on ours when we get one? Personally, I want a large vertical loop, an immelman, a cobra roll, and a 0-g roll.
  6. While it's possible, but I don't see them announcing at two parks on the same day. Look at Carowinds vs Kings Dominion announcements: Fury 325 vs a few new waterslides. Look at how much Fury 325's announcement overshadowed KD's waterslides.
  7. That's how roasts work, you insult the things you love, Excalibur being the "pig". Especially since Excalibur closes for the season on the 14th. The day after the event.
  8. Let's think about the entrance plaza for a minute here: Cedar Point upgraded their entrance plaza in 2013 with the addition of GateKeeper and how it's going through the keyholes over the entrance. Carowinds is adding Fury 325 next year with part of the track going under the entrance walkway as part of an entrance upgrade. Valleyfair is looking at updating their entrance plaza and extending/moving the parking lot. Many rumors include a new coaster going near the entrance in 2016/17. Could this be a coincidence? Or a sign of thrills to come?
  9. I've been to our haunt once and everything past Renegade was closed. They also usually open up later in the day than the rest of the park on normal operating days. While yes, I think that Excalibur will be removed for whatever's coming in 2016/17, its closing now for the remainder of the season is nothing new.
  10. Carowinds is announcing their Giga in a few hours, Six Flags is making their announcements next week. I've heard Kings Dominion & Canada's Wonderland will also get waterpark expansions next year. KBF/CP sound like a dark rides similar to Wonder Mountain's Guardian. I've heard Dorney Park is looking at getting a new wooden coaster in the next year or two (most likely GCI). But going back to your question garyman6, I'd like to hear the haunt annnouncements first!
  11. Here's another thing that pisses me off about this announcement...and almost every announcement other than Outlaw Run the last 6 or 7 years. Look, I'm not asking the park to put in a new Outlaw Run every year. Far from it. But every year I drive 4 hours to SDC, and then into Branson, passing old CC, and the terribly wasteful opportunity that is Ozark Wildcat just sitting there doing nothing. I was lucky enough to ride it many times the first year it was open, as well as most of the other rides in the Celebration City collection. But to just let OzCat rot and do nothing with it, and to watch SDC add pedestrian stuff like the Barn Swing and everything in the Grand Exposition while the OzCat sits and rots kind of upsets me. I love SDC. Its my home away from my home park. I've been there more times in the last 10 years than Six Flags St Louis, which is about 30 minutes away from where I live (as opposed to 4 hours away). I still absolutely adore SDC. But after leaving OzCat to rot for 5 years, I have to question WTF is happening with the company. And when the big announcement is kiddie rides and an 8-story drop tower, I have to call BS. This announcement is a big bag of sucky kiddie suckness. No one could possibly convince me otherwise... While I am pissed about OzCat rotting as well, that gives me no reason to hate on Fireman's Landing. But they'd have to redesign much of the ride if they were to relocate it to either SDC or Dollywood because both are built in the hills while Celebration City was on flat land. So where else could OzCat go?
  12. I agree with you on the Patriot or Talon-sized invert, but I'd see more of a Dominator-sized Floorless than Hyrda-sized.
  13. WoF is a fun park but I believe that it had too many centrifugal force attractions (Bamboozler, Zulu, Finnish Fling) and needs an S&S Screaming Swing. It's not my favorite park. When I was there, most rides would be walk-ons at a place like SDC, but as I described on Spinning Dragons, the crews were terrible. I also think that their theme of "Around the World in 80 Days" is half-hearted.
  14. My biggest question is fire in the hole: will it be considered part of fireman's landing, or is it too far away? Cause FitH fits in with the theme of Fireman's Landing.
  15. I've heard that Nickelodeon Universe may be considering removing their tumbler soon. Would anyone like to see it get new life at Valleyfair?
  16. Finally getting around to posting my trip to Silver Dollar City and Worlds of Fun from Mid-June. I would have had it up sooner if I had known how to make a Trip Report. Thank you to all who didn't tell me on any of the several boards I asked on. So enough with my complaining, Onto the photos! I stayed just north of the Arkansas border at the Cliffs at Long Creek. Everyone should consider getting Bluegreen or RCI timeshares, these places are AWESOME! This was the place I stayed at. A five-bedroom house overlooking Table Rock Lake Please slow to 12.5 mph on the street the house was on. And don't you dare go over it. The main kitchen Views from the upper deck I wonder what could be down this hallway? Several comfortable leather chairs arranged stadium-style. And a big red curtain... HOLY BIG SCREEN TVS BATMAN! 96 inches to be exact. Infinity hot tub overlooking Table Rock Lake Seriously, this place is beautiful! Finally to Silver Dollar City. It's been twelve years since I'd been here. I DID MY WAITING! 12 YEARS OF IT. AT VALLEYFAIR! Wildfire, the first B&M I rode. Loved it as much now as I did then. Wildfire going through the Cobra Roll. Sometime in the 12 years I was away, I forgot it had one of these. Hold the wife and hide the young-ins, 'cause the Outlaw's a-runnin'! Seriously the best wooden coaster I've ridden. Definitely deserving of its Golden Ticket. Rode in the front, the back, and near the back. Got to love the airtime and the hangtime on the second roll! Journey Down into the Marvel Caves. And my camera sucked down there! On the way down, they played the Doctor Who theme and Star Wars' Imperial March. I kept an eye out for any and all alien activity. An Infinity Selfie at Grandfather's Mansion. On our way up to Worlds of Fun, we stopped at a roadside attraction. You may have to squint to see it, but that duck/goose thing is smoking a cigarette. A horde of angel statues. DON'T BLINK! The guy behind this place painted that with CAR PAINTS! Coming up on Worlds of Fun. Stayed at Worlds of Fun Village on-site. How cute, they gave us a towel dog with the remote. Because I stayed at the Village, I got into the park 10 min. early! Headed straight for Prowler! I was the first one in line and got three rides in the front seat without having to leave! Pretty great way to start the day. After riding Outlaw Run and knowing how badly Renegade has roughened, I was expecting a lot of shaking. Thank God I was wrong! It was running great the whole day and with almost no line up until the last 2 hours the park was open. Patriot: a B&M invert themed to 'Murica. Not as much 0-g as advertised here. Unsurprisingly, Steelhawk wasn't open. I still don't know why Cedar Fair thinks the problems will be less here than at Knott's. Look Ma, no hands!. Look Ma, no feet either! These things need to make a comeback like the flyers have. Clever Girl. This isn't the game the park needs, but the one it deserves. A two-horned unicorn zebra. I'm done. When I was last here in 2004, I hated this thing. Now, I love it! The theming is a big part of why. If only more parks themed this kind of ride more often. The crew here was terrible today. There was barely 30 people in line, yet I waited nearly 15 minutes as a single rider. And they were running 3 cars. At least I got the best spinning I've ever gotten on a spinning coaster. A beautiful shot of Boomerang. If only it rode as nice as it looked. Why do we torture ourselves in this way? Outside Timberwolf's queue. It tells you everything you need to know to avoid it until RMC comes and helps. Camp Snoopy: Come leave your kids here while you go ride Prowler, Mamba, and Patriot. I found a crack in the fabric of time and space in the fabric of my seat on Zulu. I'm lucky to be alive. Or at the very least, on this planet in this time. The park has a great deal on fudge: 3 blocks for $7. My card wouldn't go through and I missed getting in line for Mamba at the end of the day by under a minute. So that's how a silver medalist feels. Until next time, Missouri!
  17. Just in case you are serious - on the Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkey's main page - upper left - see the "new topic" button? Press that to start a new thread. I'd do a search for how to re-size photo's for a TR before embarking on it. It isn't difficult, but takes some practice. David Finally, THANK YOU!
  18. Someone please tell me what button I press and where it is to create a trip report!
  19. We all know that a major Soak City expansion is our gift for next year, but how major will it be? As in: 1. How much will be spent on it 2. How Big will it be 3. With all the removals or rumors of such, how much more will leave 4. Who will it come from 5. When will the announcement be
  20. The coaster is very beautiful, but you're right about the nets. But I can only really remember nets under the lift hill (for obvious reasons)
  21. I heard about that. Shame really, especially with how much downtime CP's has had over the past couple years. They are extremely fun rides. But when a man gets a concussion from a broken piece of a ride like this... I hope the problem can be solved quickly and none will have to be removed.
  22. I know I may sound stupid for asking this (granted), but how do I make a trip report?
  23. I was wondering why we didn't get one immediately for Route 76 as it's about park nostalgia and we had a flyers back in 1976.
  24. ^I've heard CP could get something similar to Wonder Mountain's Guardian next year or some similar style dark/shooting ride.
  25. Going back to Carowinds' expansion for a second: Carowinds is investing 50 million over two years. Carwoinds was one of the three parks singled out by CF for significant expansion possibilities. Not that we are going to do exactly what they are, but the possibilities are fun to dream about.
