What was your first Intamin Coaster
Coastin Eric replied to grsupercity's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Hah, not gonna lie, it had to be Jr Gemini at Cedar Point... Other than that, probably Disaster Transport. -

Do they not still do the 9AM early entry every day for platinum passholders? (Maverick, MF, Iron Dragon & Gatekeeper were the options last year, I believe) And is there any option for my buddy to join me on the Milliennium walkback without him having to join a coaster club directly (ie can I add him to mine or just bring him as a guest or something)? I've asked Tony about this, and no, it is ONLY for coaster club members. -

Intamin would make all of my dreams come true... -
At my home park Cedar Point, I have pretty specific wait times for what I will and won't go on, depending on the posted time. For example, I typically end up waiting an hour and a half for maverick, if its a busy day. However I won't wait longer than an hour for Millennium Force, and no more than 15 for Mantis. Knowing intamin and that park, there can be quite a few breakdowns, and I usually wait them out. Luckily I've barely had any breakdowns this year, fingers crossed it continues. If I'm at a park I rarely go to, or is out of state and I'm only going for a day every couple of years, I splurge and get a fast pass, so I can't really provide any input for other parks.

YES!!! I was in the station for the first round of songs, and then on the ride with the interacting song! One of the best ride ops I've ever seen! -

I got out to the park a few days ago, and I got to ride Banshee for the first time. I thought it was incredible. I rode in rows 4, 6, and 8. I think the last row was the best, but the b&m rattle was definitely there. It was not too bad though and I only noticed it because I was looking out for it. I only waited about 10 minutes per ride, so that was awesome. All in all, Kings Island really got a winner, and it miiiiiight pass Montu with a few more rides on it... -

Weird roller coasters.

Whiplash would actually be a pretty good name for a coaster. I heard that was the backup name for Mean Streak back in the day... -

From what I remember, Gatekeeper didn't surpass I'd say 3-4 hours. I waited 3, and got in to the park 45 mins early with platinum but it surely could have gone longer -
I went to Wisconsin to visit my Grandma (originally I'm from Ohio) and I had to beg her to borrow her car, and then I drove (alone) an hour and a half to Mt Olympus to ride Hades 360 and the rest of the coasters. I think it was completely worth it, and I would do it again. Just maybe not for Mt Olympus...

Have any of us considered that maybe the (potential) drop tower on this coaster will be a launched drop tower? In the case that It will go up with the coaster, maybe a little delayed to provide time for the coaster to clear the top hat, and then fall back down with the coaster too? I think this would justify a second drop tower for the park, whether or not it exceeds the current height of their drop tower. -
Hello Kitty Theme Park China 2014
Coastin Eric replied to Coastin Eric's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Why am I getting a bad feeling that it will be a looping toboggan? I don't know but I would not be looking forward to that... Maybe there will be a TPR Hello Kitty trip... -
Who else is excited...? I know I am! http://articles.latimes.com/2011/may/13/news/la-trb-hello-kitty-theme-park-china-05201111 Do you think this will be on TPR China tours? Oh man I sure hope so. Theres going to be a volcano with a coaster surrounding it. I've heard from the rumor mill that it will NOT be Intamin building it and it will not be an impulse coaster. Basically I think Cedar Point is going to lose it's streak of Best Amusement Park...

Hello folks! I'm gonna be headed to this park sometime between the 10th and 14th of march, and I was wondering what the lines would be like for the major coasters? I'm thinking I'll hit the big 3 right in the morning at opening to avoid lines, then spend the majority of my day with the family seeing the rest of the park, then returning late afternoon/early evening. Should this avoid most of the waiting? I'd prefer to get two (or more) rides on each of those 3 if possible. Thanks guys!

I think Cheetah Hunt is open again but I'd ride it first as it's an Intamin and it breaks down frequently. There are automated machines throughout the park that let you purchase the quick queue. We got it on our visit but am not sure we needed it. It came in handy a little but wasn't all that crowded. It's worth noting that it's not good for Scorpion or the Wild Mouse which have low capacity so once you ride Cheetah Hunt I suggest taking the skyride back to those rides and getting them done early. The other lines are usually pretty manageable since the other coasters are mostly B&M people eaters. Edit: I'm not sure if you've been to the park before but ride Kumba in the back row all the way on the right side of the train (near the unload platform). I promise you'll leave the ride angry at B&M for building the crap they build now instead of more rides just like Kumba. The ride is great in every seat but in that seat it's completely insane. You're welcome. Edit again: I just saw your post in the favorite inversion thread where you said your favorite inversion was a barrel roll. I said the same thing, but you don't even know the meaning of "barrel roll" until you ride Kumba in that seat. Back of Kumba and Montu. Insane B&M epicnesss. Got it. Thanks for the help!

I'm going to be heading to the park here in a few weeks, and I'm really looking forward to it. Couple of follow up questions though, 1. Is Cheetah Hunt back up and running? (And if it's not do you think it would be in two weeks time?) 2. Can you get a fast pass once inside the park? For example an hour after opening if it's getting really crowded? Thanks in advance

Favorite Inversion
Coastin Eric replied to pgathriller's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
My favorite inversion that I've experienced would probably be the barrel rolls on Volcano. Those never get old and they're so fun. Other than that I would say Zero G rolls in general. They Always feel awesome
