  1. Joker also has a single rider line but is almost as worthless as Green Lantern's with the beginning of the line past all the switchbacks.
  2. I hope Wild Mouse stays since it is one of the few coasters open for Christmas Candylane, unless they added another coaster open for the event in its place.
  3. Gold Pass holders are supposed to be able to enter 10 minutes early, rides don't open early so it just allows you to get to a ride entrance before everyone else. Whether they actually let pass holders in early seems to be random. The last few times I have gotten to the park before opening (not this year), they didn't let anyone in early.
  4. Cedar Fair has gotten even stricter with seatbelts. Now on the non coaster rides, them ride operators walk around and tighten everyone's seatbelt to the point where it is uncomfortable. On the Whip, they also now put the slack of each belt around the lap bar and it takes close to 4 minutes from when the riders are let into the ride area until the ride starts. They are also now selling game prizes at each game booth if you would rather just buy the stuffed animal. Prices range from $4 to $125 depending on the item.
  5. I used to try to go to Fright Fest on Friday nights. It usually wasn't too bad except for the last 2 Friday nights in October (except Halloween night when it is empty). Last year it seemed more crowded and I will probably avoid October all together this year except Columbus Day. After seeing the overflow queues set up with the Glow In The Park Parade trash cans and chains for rides like Superman that already can hold a multi hour line, as well as the pictures from trip reports of past years, I will never go on a Saturday during Fright Fest and avoid Sunday as well.
  6. It was the same with Skull Mountain. The VR only lasted just over a month before it was removed.
  7. Thanks, that was what I was hoping to hear (just in case we need it when I visit the park with a friend later this summer who can only go on a weekend).
  8. Does anyone know at the Fast Track merge points is there a worker there to control the line or do you have to just walk into the regular line at the merge point yourself?
  9. I went to the park on Friday of Memorial Day weekend in 2015. It wasn't as crowded as I would have expected since I thought the same thing about crowd levels with a 10:00 closing. I got there in the afternoon and probably spent around 5 or 6 hours and got 17 rides in that day.
  10. As expected the bumper cars were just ok. The cycle is very short and the small driving area combined with the metal island in the middle caused a lot of people to spend most of the ride cycle stuck. Stinger was closed with some mechanics working on the ride but it never opened (not that I would have ridden the coaster anyway). I also noticed this when walking around the park today.
  11. Maybe they will use the single rider line for a non VR line?
  12. On Friday, I would expect 10 to 20 minute waits most of the day and walk ons from around 4 to 5 until closing at 8.
  13. Hershey is probably going to be extremely crowded in the afternoon and until you leave the park. I went to the park on the 2nd or 3rd Friday in May last year and there was Music In The Parks which brought a lot of school groups. Some of the major coasters were 60 to 90 minutes, even smaller coasters like Trailblazer got up to 30 minutes in the middle of the day. Great Adventure shouldn't be too crowded, I have gone on Thursdays in May 2 or 3 times in past years and it is usually walk ons to 15 minute waits for the coaster.
  14. Wow, that is comparable to Saturday Fright Fest level crowds. If this keeps up, they are going to need to bring out the old Glow in the Park parade green trash cans and rope that they used for temporary overflow queues in September and October.
  15. I have been to the park every year during Spring Break since 2008 and never saw the crowds reported to be so bad. According to CoasterQueue, Nitro and Joker are each 1 hour and 40 minutes. I think the whole week will be bad. Thursday has a large group with thousands of people visiting in addition to it being the first day of Spring Break for schools that only get Thrusday - Monday off. Good Friday and the day before Easter are usually bad too. I was hoping Monday would be less crowded next week with Philadelphia schools back in session but NYC and Jackson still are on Spring Break and was considering going tomorrow but decided against it because even if it was half as crowded as today, I don't feel like dealing with 45+ minute lines when I can go next month on a weekday and get walk ons.
  16. It should be a little more crowded during the day with more school groups but probably not much worse. I went to the park on a Friday in June in 2014 before schools let out and got 21 rides in from 4:15 to 9:00 without Flash Pass.
  17. Jackson schools are in session until the week after that. Philadelphia and NYC schools usually are finished towards the end of June.
  18. The advantage of going on an 8 pm closing day is that crowds should be lower especially by 4 or 5 when the school groups leave. Some of my favorite days of the season to visit are on weekdays in May and June while schools are still in session (except on days when the park closes at 6) since during the day lines aren't too bad and those last few hours should be almost all walk ons.
  19. I skipped it last year because I didn't feel like waiting 30 minutes for a boomerang. I hope I don't get the chance to ride it next year at Dorney.
  20. All rides should be open except Justice League and the water rides. I would avoid the 15th if the weather is good since the day before Easter is usually crowded.
  21. The only events on that Friday are Physics Day and Music In The Parks but it still shouldn't be too crowded. The schools leave by around 4 to 5 and those final few hours should be walk ons the entire time. I didn't see anything scheduled for Saturday except a teachers workshop and that probably won't effect crowds.
  22. Yes, I bought it last year at Dorney (it was great for Wildwater Kingdom). I either had my season pass scanned at the Fast Lane booth near the entrance or Guest Services if the booth was closed. I got a new wristband each trip because they changed the color of the band and the ride printed on the band so people can't re-use old bands.
  23. I like the Chickie's and Pete's near Sea Dragon since that one is on the season dining pass. The area by Stinger also has a Haunt building although with all the new Haunt building locations, I don't think losing 1 would be that bad.
  24. They should allow you to ride with a group of 2 if the others don't mind sharing the raft. Last year I only tried to ride Aquablast once as a single rider and there happened to be another single rider near the loading area so we both rode in the same raft. Up until maybe 5 or 6 years ago you used to be allowed to ride alone but I guess they changed it because of the long lines it gets. Everything else in the waterpark except Cascade and Aquablast is single rider only (Cascade can be single or double riders).
