Hersheypark (HP) Discussion Thread

Unfortunately no, they removed the single rider line last year before the old version of the ride closed and it's now a Fast Track line. -
Queue Times is either glitched or Dorney's app is wrong. I frequently see 60 - 90 minute waits for the coasters on Queue Times and even Talon at 120 minutes which I am guessing never has really happened. I average 10 - 12 visits to the park a year since 2006 and have seen 30+ minute waits for the coasters maybe 3 or 4 times. Last Tuesday, Steel Force was sending out trains with less than 10 riders.

The Mini Scrambler wait time is for CupFusion. When it had a 180 minute wait time posted a few weeks ago, I looked at the park app to see what 180 minutes was really for. -
I like how at Dorney on the dining plan you can get both a cheesesteak and fries for a meal. The cheesesteak is smaller but it's enough with the usual large amount fries. I agree with the comments about WWK. I always find myself spending most of my time at Dorney in WWK and riding the water rides on the ride side and usually taking a quick lap around the park with 1 ride on each coaster and a couple of flat rides.

Whip is still there, they added some new signs about the history of the ride for its 100th season. Voodoo had the name change because Six Flags trademarked the name I think after the 2008 season. -
What Was The Last Coaster You Rode?

i305 on Wednesday. -
It shouldn't be that crowded, there might be some school groups during the day but they usually leave around 4 or 5, even with the schools there, waits probably won't be bad for most rides. I was at the park a week and a half ago and there were at least 40 or 50 buses in the lot and I didn't wait more than 10 - 15 minutes for anything. The gate price is around $75 (I want to say $73 but not 100% sure). Skip the line passes are only for the person with the membership. If you have time, ride the parachutes. It's a rare ride and tame but still fun.

Something I never thought I would see at Dorney happened. Fast Lane was sold out in multiple stores. The first 2 stores were out, the 3rd store told me I can’t get a wristband if it is all Season Fast Lane and finally store 4 allowed me to get a wristband. Lines aren’t too bad, 10 - 20 minutes but since I paid for it for the year for WWK, I thought I might as well use it on the ride side for once.

Merry Dip Fun Slides were open last Saturday when I walked past them. -
Even with bad weather, I think they will be open most of the day on Friday. There are regular school trips, Music in the Parks competitions and possibly Physics Day as well (used to be every Friday in April and May). Maybe they won’t stay open until 9 if it storms since the school groups usually leave in the late afternoon.

Knoebels Discussion Thread
YoshiFan replied to robbalvey's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
It looks like I would pay an extra $2 or $3 in tickets per trip, not too bad. I paid $6 to ride one of those figure 8 spinning coasters at iPlay America around a year ago and $9 each to ride the coasters at Fun Spot a few years ago so $2.40 - $2.80 for the coasters at Knoebels with the 20% off is still a great deal. -

They should be, I went to the park Sunday of opening weekend last year and all the coasters were running. -

They changed it within the past few years, now every coaster Fast Track line has a merge point before the station, some go right into the station like Fahrenheit, others still have more of a line past the merge point. If the weather is nice, expect it to be crowded, up to an hour wait for the big coasters, possibly more if 1 train is running on anything. Springtime In The Park is usually crowded with the cheaper admission and no water park open to take some of the crowds. -

For anyone that buys it, I hope this year they run the merge points better. On many coasters there is still a lot of the line past the merge point and if the person controlling the line lets too many people in, there will still be a long wait. When I was at the park at the end of December, Wildcat had around a 20 minute wait for anyone with Fast Track because the ramp was half full (and 1 train was running). Storm Runner is another bad line, 1 train running and the line down the stairs to the merge point is another 20 - 25 minute wait in October. They should only let the line just get past the station so anyone using Fast Track has at most a 2 to 3 train wait.
