  1. ^ seems like a strong possibility. To me, why else would they leave everything intact?
  2. I think hyena falls is fantastic. Part of the reason why I love it so much is that it's away from the crowds and relaxing. I do understand the need to fill the gap though
  3. ^ get to the back of the park immediately at opening to ride Thunderbird and Voyage and then be at the secondary SS entrance right as the waterpark opens. Head straight to the water coasters and get as many rides in as possible before lines get long. Then do anything else you want in the water park (Jungle Racers are surprisingly fun). Head back into the dry park and ride Raven and Legend while the waterpark is the most crowded. Return back to Thanksgiving to get more rides in on Thunderbird and Voyage as it gets close to closing time
  4. ^ my guess with the generators is that it has something to do with the low price of diesel right now
  5. I'd say 45 min is worth it at least once. Not multiple 45 min waits though
  6. I'm glad you mentioned that because that somewhat bugged me as well. I understand why it has to be there for safety purposes, but with the theming put into the entire ride I expected a wooden fence of sorts. However, for safety purposes, it would have to be nearly solid and that would block the view while watching off-ride. Maybe a dark green coating on the chain-link would make it blend in more?
  7. ^ excellent report. Provides a lot of unique perspectives. I think your suggestion about a "Turkey Taxi" just further points to the need for a transportation ride (I.e. Train). While I personally don't feel the walk is unbearable, I can understand how it can be difficult for other people or families with kids and a stroller and bags and so on. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I DO NOT think there should be another entrance added as it will take away from the classic feel of the Christmas entrance
  8. If they have it this year, the Red Velvet Funnel Cake is really good. Plymouth Rock Cafe is definitely the best place to eat in the dry park (full thanksgiving buffet). Zoombabwe Grill is the best place in the water park.
  9. Holiday World shared this awesome story on their Facebook page: http://www.duboiscountyfreepress.com/wallys-wild-ride-and-mary-lous-trip-too/
  10. Well there's a perspective for everyone asking about how rideable Voyage is this season.
  11. A few pages back, Paula gave an explanation. Essentially, the second half is just a little too intense for the GP and the few seconds of slowing down at the MCBR also gives everyone a bit of a breather. However, once the train goes through the triple down, it's back up to speed again and there is no drop off in the fun of the second half.
  12. Take an average woodie and that's your track smoothness. Factor in a really twisty second half and then you either get "brutal" or "intense", depending on your outlook. Edit: now that I think about it, the first half is much better than an average woodie. It is running extremely smooth (at least it was in early May when I visited). There is no "bounce bounce bounce" jarring as you go across the track. The second half could have a track smoothness like this as well but the twisting and turning takes over the senses.
  13. Referring to the wifi: it all depends on how many people are in the park. Think of it like being at a sporting event or concert when there's a lot of people in one place. You will always be able to get a wifi signal, and it will be sufficient enough to send iMessages, check Twitter, etc. However, if it's a really crowded day, your upload speeds will be what suffers the most. It might take a few minutes for a picture to send, for example.
  14. I feel like this should've been a huge anniversary on here lol
  15. So just like every other time that there's been a discussion of the roughness/intensity of the Voyage, it all comes back around rider preference. Some love it, some hate it, some just think its a decent ride. All that it comes down to is riding it for yourself and either continuing to ride it or choosing not to ride again. Opinion: Is the Voyage a bad ride? No. Could it be incredibly awesome with a smoother track (i.e. topper track)? Yes.
  16. Sounds awesome! So getting out here this year, seems like this is the best time to finally go It depends on how late in the season you go. It's always hard to tell how well they're gonna hold up
  17. ^for 2015, add 2 points to Voyage smoothness and 4 points to Legend smoothness
  18. ^ the woodies, especially at this point in the season, are not very rough, comparitively. However, the second half of The Voyage is very intense, which many people tend to take as roughness. The key there is to let your body flow with the ride. The Legend has a lot of laterals which will keep you pinned against the side of the seat but the track is running extremely fast and smooth this season. The Raven's track can be a little bouncy (it is 20 years old after all) but it glides through the course very well.
  19. I don't disagree that some sort of transportation system to the back of the park would be nice. However, I do disagree with the notion of adding a second entrance. The experience of walking through the Holiday World gates into the Christmas Village is an experience unique to the park and gives it the classic feel. Adding a second entrance at Holiday World would be like coming into the Magic Kingdom through Frontierland and not seeing the castle from Main Street.
  20. I've never found the distance to walk in the park anywhere near too long. Yes the addition of thunderbird makes the distance longer but it's nowhere near the distance you have to walk in other parks (Kings Island, Six Flags, Epcot, etc). I think the biggest gripe is climbing the hill. It has never bothered me, but I also went to a university famous for "the hill" so that might be why.
  21. ^ I think my experience has been that they still run with a light rain, as long as there is no lightning. Don't hold me to that though because it's been a few years since I was there with it raining.
