  1. Now it all makes sense as to why I haven't had any issues with the restraints
  2. Going back to a topic earlier discussed...none of the three woodies had any squeaking/squealing on Sunday. I think it's just dependent upon weather, recent maintenance, etc.
  3. Really? I have had trouble with Gatekeeper, Wild Eagle and Thunderbird. It ruined what could of been a great coaster in Thunderbird. Im skinny and its brutal My legs are fairly muscular, so that may be why I haven't noticed. And I never push the restraint down very far when buckling in. Or maybe I'm just not even paying attention to it. Now I'm gonna notice it next time. Thanks, guys
  4. ^that's a new one. I haven't experienced any kind of discomfort at all with the Thunderbird restraints
  5. Yeah, we let her pick her first coaster and she wanted the "biggest, tallest, fastest" one (which I guess we could have convinced her was Thunderbird). It wasn't that she was afraid of going on other coasters afterwards, I think she was just in pain.
  6. Update: got in line to ride Raven before park closing. We were two rides back and they had to shutdown because of "wildlife near the tracks". Two in one night for me? What're the odds?! Short TR: Went with a friend a his wife. It was her first visit to any amusement park EVER, and she seemed to have a great time, but didn't want to do any other coasters after the Voyage as her first ride. What we did (in order): Voyage Gobbler Getaway Thunderbird (x2) Bakuli Wildebeest Mammoth Jungle Racers (a lot) Ottorongo Lazy River (ahhhhh) Hyena Falls Thunderbird Voyage Carousel Lewis & Clark Legend Raven Hallow Swings Observations: The Legend Reborn is fantastic. I love the retracked/reprofiled areas. The Voyage...disclaimer: I've loved this ride since it opened and ride it many times on each visit, and I don't mind rough rides at all. But with that being said...seriously needs some major track work. It was very rough, and we rode front car both times. Again, I normally enjoy the "rough and wild" wooden coasters. Crowds were decent. Waterpark got a little heavy mid-afternoon, as expected. Zoombabwe being down all day didn't help with crowd dispersion, either. After about 6, all major rides were a station wait. My friend rode Thunderbird for the first time and was absolutely blown away. He even said "That's probably my favorite coaster now. It's perfect in every way." He desperately tried to convince his wife to go on it, and tried to explain its a completely different ride than The Voyage, but to no avail. It was a good fun day overall. Oh and Plymouth Rock was absolutely delicious, of course.
  7. I'm at the park right now. In line for Thunderbird but it's shutdown because of "wildlife in the area"
  8. Pretty cool photo from HW's Twitter: HW Twitter
  9. ^ I was waiting for someone to pick up on all of that. Haha. That's why I submitted without comment.
  10. Trip Advisor named Splashin Safari the #4 water park in the United States, behind both WDW parks and Aquatica. https://www.tripadvisor.com/TravelersChoice-Attractions-cWaterParks-g191
  11. (I haven't been this year) Last year, I noticed it on Voyage (it's loud) but not any of the others. Pretty much sounds like a 12 year old girl screaming non stop. Edit: I could hear it off-ride but didn't notice while riding.
  12. I remember riding the Legend at the night the first year and agree with this. When we came up the lift hill and made the turn right before the drop, there was a full moon right in front of us. Then we hear the howl and plunge into darkness. Chilllllllssssss
  13. ^did you go during construction of thunderbird? I've never been on it at night when anything past the second hill is lit up
  14. ^ maybe that's why I've never understood all the hype about Beast - I've only ridden it during the day. I need to try it at night sometime. But then again...the Voyage is even more epic at night
  15. Sunday is generally lighter, but June is peak season. It's all a matter of perspective. A Sunday in June might be lighter than the rest of a June week, but busier than any day in late August. By the way, I see that your favorite woodie isn't The Beast. How are you allowed to live in Cincinnati?
  16. Looks like it'll be ready for Saturday, according to HW Twitter:
  17. Has anyone heard this season's radio commercial(s)?
  18. Lol the offseason needs to end ASAP.
  19. Has anyone been able to catch a glimpse of the testing of Thunderbird's new lift hill?
  20. Holiday World is crowdsourcing 7,000 photos for a Memory Mosaic. Link here: http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2016/03/01/enter-our-making-memories-sweepstakes/
  21. The latest Holiblog post had a couple of references to "full steam ahead" with added emphasis on "steam" each time. Hint at something new?
  22. ^ yeah it'd be great if it had a really unique lift system, too. Oh wait...
  23. HW tweeted about The Voyage being 10 years old this year (what?!) with a video of the original animation: It's interesting to see the little differences between the original concept and the real thing.
