Well, as long as they don't strap a metal cage to the slide they should be fine!!! Is there ever NOT a busy off season at Cedar Point??

Speaking of this accident. . . I'm sick of getting on any form of social media and seeing a blood covered slide. . . I get it... when there's a "decapitation" there's going to be a lot of blood. . . But seeing the runout and the "blaster" part of the slide covered in blood makes me cringe. I never rode this slide before, and I will never ride this slide now... that simple. Social media and blood coved slide have traumatized me.

I mean, there's Outback Steakhouse. Not really a "local" place. But they always have good steak.

You're lucky!!! The last time I went to Magic Springs was the LAST time I will ever go to Magic Springs. It was by far the worst theme park experience I've ever had. That's being said, I'm glad you enjoyed your visit and hopefully, for the sake of the park, something happens that will turn that place around.

Now if they could just get the cable NOT snappage down to a science that'd be great.

Not surprised that the cable snapped. . . Again. Glad we got our rides in last week before this happened!!

From what I have read they are weighted when they make their reservation (if they still do that) and then weighted again at the top of the tower before boarding the slide. Fromschlitterbahn.com

Such sad news. My thoughts are with the family, and the witness. Something no one should ever have to deal with. Especially not when they are simply trying to have a fun, relaxing day at a park. Also, I could have lived my life without seeing the photo of the blood covered slide. This slide has always seemed like a little "too much." From the prototype where the rafts went flying, to the full size slide where the rafts still went flying, to the re-profiling. It will be interesting to find out what investigators uncover as to the cause of this tragedy.

From what I have read on Twitter it seems that a small child (12 years old) was decapitated while riding Verruckt. But, it's Twitter, so it's not that reliable.
