My final guess is going to be what I've been saying all along, MACK launched coaster. Personally, I would like to see some type of RMC steel coaster. Both seem to make sense and seem very logical. -

^ The site goes live on 5/19, so I'm guessing midnight central time. -

^^ My take on that message, they've been promising us a steel coaster for quite a while now, just never said when. -

^ From what I've saw on Twitter today, they park has sent out press announcement teasers to media outlets (They've been tweeting pictures of what HW has sent them) for May 19. This is what is says. It's going to be announced on the 19th. This has to be a huge (and obvious) project for them to announce it this early. Almost too early for a regular steel coaster, but just about right with something that has a wooden structure. I'm starting to lean toward RMC. The timing is perfect. The crew from Goliath will be done in a couple of weeks. If they start in June, they'll have the ride completed in April. Even though I'm leaning toward RMC, anybodies guess is just as good as mine. -
Considering they started in August, I feel like the construction crews have made very good time on both projects. Deconstructing a ride down to the bents that you need to use, then adding the ledgers is a lot harder than building a ride from scratch. You've got to be precise on which wooden boards are to be taken off and which need to be left. I also believe that I read that they had to hire out to get a construction crew to do the project. There is only RMC supervisors on the site. So I say that complicated the process even more. Six Flags Mexico is open year round, right? If so, I say there is a much more urgency to get Goliath open than there is Medusa, since Six Flags Great America is only open 6 months of the year.

Here's some crazy speculation. RMC's first steel coaster built from scratch. It's over 200 feet tall with a lift structure like Goliath's. 90 degree vertical drop that has an out and back terrain twister feel with several inversions. It'll be packed with negative g's with a good mix of positive g's. The funnel cakes are pretty good. The deep fried Twinkies too. -

^^^ It's been three years since Texas Giant's refurbishment. ^^ They did walk the park. The Holiblog said it would probably be six months before we see anything with Google. -

Judging from the parks Twitter and Facebook accounts today, the park is soon going to be on Google Street View. -

Maybe they're building a new shoot the chutes to take the place of PP and a new steel coaster. Mack supplies both! -

^ That's basically all you need to know from the blog, but Will Koch's daughter wrote the blog. She talks about how her dad used to hide the secrets of what was going to be built at the park. Now she gets to hide the secrets and even creates some of those secrets. -

^ The 66 days is how long it took the pilgrims to sell the Atlantic to reach the new world in 1620. It's most definitely for the Thanksgiving section. ^^ Thanks for the trip report and the photos! I almost feel like that land was meant to have roller coasters built on it. -

^ Not sure. People who were at the event today say that the hint they received was on wood. That could of just been a curveball, who knows. -
Let's look at this way. RMC only has two pieces to install. If they were swing these pieces up in high wind and miss the target spot and hit and damage that piece and another part of the structure, then the ride could be delayed from opening on time. They would have to wait for RMC to manufacture the structure pieces and ship them from Idaho.

That website takes you to a holiblog that has yet to be posted yet. The name says "loose lips sink ships" in the URL. That's what HW has named the event today over at the Holiwood Nights Facebook page. Something big has to be going on. -

Found this on the Holiblog (with some help from screamscape). Look at the picture of the wooden block things in the photo. They all say 5.19.14. Could this be the day something is announced? Here's the link- http://www.holidayworld.com/holiblog/2014/05/13/doubt-look/ -
I've thought about that, but I'm not sure how that will work with the forces and speed coming out of the first drop. I also wonder about the stress on the structure and the trains. If anybody remembers, they had to take a heartline roll out of Maverick at CP for putting too much stress on the trains. I've yet to get NL2, but on NL's I've been working on what I think a Boss re-mod would look like. I try to keep everything as realistic as I can. Coming out of the first drop, I elevated the track and turned that straight into a big time airtime hill. It pulls some -1.2 g's, which I think is pushing the legal limit? If I ever decide on a final design that looks and feels realistic, assuming I get NL2, I'll transfer the design and post some screens shots of it on this thread. Who knows, RMC and SF might beat me to the punch.

^ For all the reasons he just listed, you'll be hard pressed to find a better value park in the country. -
Curious as to whether this applies to just testing of a ride - I would imagine that the noise complaints (and laws) are concerned with people screaming beyond a certain time, so (and I don't know the restrictions like someone local might) maybe they would be able to circulate trains overnight during the testing period seeing as there would be minimal noise? It's using poly wheels and the concrete grout also minimizes the sound coming from the track. You'll have to be in the park to hear it more than likely. Outlaw Run uses steel wheels and doesn't sound as loud as other wooden coasters.

^ I'll second that. I wouldn't ride Mammoth if you don't like getting soaked with a lot of water. The attendance probably didn't justify a second train, nor does the ride need to take that type of beating yet. If their was lighting, all of the rides would have been shut down (park policy), until the lighting stopped. My guess, maintenance probably walked The Voyage first and it opened up before the rest. It's a two for one value park. When the waterpark isn't open, it sucks, but that's how they advertise it and that's how they have to charge it. I can understand why you would rather spend your money at other parks, but consider coming to HW a little more often. The more support they get, the more money they make. Hence, the more rides they're able to build and please you. -
They have two pieces to add and the lift will be topped off. This is basically plug and play track, so it won't take them that long to get it installed. They've already started the grout work for the track. Installing the lift chain is the hardest thing they're going to have to do. It wouldn't be too far fetched to say that the RMC will be done with construction a week before media day. Give or take a few days. They can do round the clock testing to break the ride in and have it pass the state inspection in time for media day.

^ Have fun! Bit of advice, I would start out riding The Raven, The Legend, and The Voyage in that order. Since you're new to HW, it would help you work your way up. The Voyage is a different animal, compared to The Raven and Legend. Prepare yourself for an endurance test. You'll be worn out, and beaten up little bit at the end of every ride, but you'll somehow find yourself in line time, and time again. -
^ You're probably just used to it now. The more you practice something, the more used to it you get. I don't claim to have any great knowledge of this subject. I do think is has to do with some type of fear inside us. I remember when I rode my first roller coaster. I hated that feeling of the first drop. That feeling of your stomach dropping completely out from underneath you. I tried to fight this feeling. That made it worse. I realized that I was doing this out of fear. I decided to embrace that feeling. I loved the first drop on roller coaster from then out. I got to the point where I don't think about it anymore. I don't fear the first drop. I'm used to the feeling. i'm guessing that's whats happened to you. The physics of the roller coaster don't change unless they added some mysterious trim brake in that section.
