Look back through this thread and you will see a picture that someone posted of the sign posted at the entrance of the ride. I have read it a zillion times going into the ride and at another point in the line cue. It clearly states that if you are a large person (my wording), to not ride. It also states that the lapbar HAS to be all the way down and on your thighs (even gives a nifty little diagram to go with it). It goes so far as to threaten park ejection for trying to get on without the lapbar being in the proper position (for crazy people who purposefully don't pull the bar all the way down so they can get more airtime).

Ya, I'll believe it when I see it. Screamscape supposedly had an park source (aka security guard) say it won't be open the rest of the year. I had a park employee tell me Shock Wave caught fire, which was not true. I would believe Shock WVe to be open next weekend before Giant. But if it does, it'll be a pleasant surprise!

I saw this on Screamscape today. It seems like every time we go to SF, when walking to the Titan inevitably there is someone that harasses the security guard parked at the stairway to NTAG about when it is going to open. They usually answer but it is just to blow them off and get them to move on. Usually, someone will ask when it will open, and they'll say "soon." I would expect this is no different. I would be willing to bet you they have little information on when it will open. Anyway, with that being said, take it for what it's worth. They did post about Judge Roy being back up and running, for those who were disappointed by its closure. Park News - (9/5/13) Good news, looks like the problem with Judge Roy was just temporary, as a reader visited the park on Monday (Labor Day) and found the Judge up and running once again. While there has been no official comment from SFOT regarding when we might see the Texas Giant reopen, a reader tells us that a security guard posted at the Giant was telling guests that if it reopened this year, it wouldn’t be until very near the end of the season. Otherwise, it looks like most of you should not expect to see it reopen until 2014…

I have never been to Fright Fest before, but someone told me that sometimes they turn the trains backwards on Judge Roy during that time. I have seen them do that before for a whole season. I rode it backwards. That was back in the '90's. I wonder if that could be why it is closed down. If that is true what Screamscape said.

I don't know how they could possibly see seatbelts without having actually been right up there next to the train. I smell b/s with that one. They aren't letting anybody near the station, much less the trains. One would assume that yes, there will be seatbelts. I hope they get it going soon, but I am waving my b/s flag on that one.

And Momma nature has made it hard for us to ride anything. We just stayed home. I kept tabs on the radar and it was round after round of storms hitting Arlington all morning. It's at least an hour drive from here. I am not going to spend gas and time for closed coasters because there is lightning within a 20 mile radius. It's supposed to get better but they are only open till 8pm, and the chance more can pop up remains the rest of today. I'm just gonna blow it off for today. Nothing more frustrating than waiting in line for a ride, only to have their little phone ring saying to shut her down, there's lightning. Last time that happened it was 2 hours before it opened back up. That was on NTAG the day before the accident. Glad we went ahead and waited it out and rode it. Little did we know it would be the last ride for a long long time on it. Hope you have a great time on IRAT, and your visit to Texas. Hope you have a great a/c in your rental car, it's HOT!

They have released the 2014 season pass price special. They don't post the price on the advertisement but they are running the free upgrade to gold on 4 or more passes if you buy them by the end of Fright Fest. That was like last year. Then they turned around and extended it through HIP. I got online and looked further for a price. They raised the prices by $5 a pass. So this year they are $65 plus tax for 4 or more. Add $20 if you want a combo pass.

We went to Fiesta Texas twice this summer. Overall it seems to be a somewhat smaller scale park than SFOT. But as a whole, we really enjoyed ourselves more there. The atmosphere was better and more with an exception of the little car ride, ride ops were more efficient. The lines weren't stagnant for the most part. I loved the "Lone Star Nights" fireworks/laser show they did at the end of the evening when they closed. Both times we were there all of the rides we wanted to ride (with an exception of IRAT the second time because of the NTAG accident) were open! We didn't make it over to the water park, but thought that was a neat idea to have that as part of the ticket in. This is the first year I had ever visited another Six Flags park besides SFOT. We really had fun there. We are talking about going back for HIP. Maybe SFOT just had a bad year this year. I have read where people said that the employees have been rude. I have to say, I have gone a ton this year and only ran into one rude employee and one super annoying ride operator that ran the whole "Oh yeah!" thing into the ground while waiting for Mr. Freeze. Not to say that there weren't any, but most of the time they were pretty cool from our experience. Our biggest issues this year was the constant ride breakdowns and running one train making people wait forever. It seemed to even bug some of the ride ops and they would do their best to try and make up for it and apologized. Maybe next year will be better with the new kids addition. I am curious if they are going to cater more to the littler kids or if they will put stuff in that older kids (8-12 year bracket) will enjoy, too.

After this year, just getting to have all of the coasters open will feel almost like getting a new ride. And maybe keeping the youngins occupied at their "new expanded children's section" will shorten the lines for those of us there for things other than Looney Tunes Land. I know I would love a ride on Shock Wave, and get down right gitty at the thought of another ride on NTAG.

Sigh... Can we at least look forward to having all of their existing coasters running at one time? This stinks. I know I am in the minority here, but I was really disappointed when they announced and pushed that swing on steroids as some big new "thrill ride" last year. They aren't even trying to appeal to thrill seekers this year. Ugh.

I was told a manager that I bumped into at Steak and Shake one night after the park closed, that the majority of their employees are students, so their hours kinda cater to their school schedules. That's why in the spring, they'll have a skeleton crew on the Fridays they are open in the morning and such. I am beginning to think, judging by all of the "eXtreme" hints coming from SFFT's FB page, that any hopes of getting a wing coaster might be 5 hours south on I 35. SFOT's FB has been so quiet that you can almost hear crickets in the speakers when you click on the page. Last post I saw from them was a picture of someone riding the teacups a couple of weeks ago. They haven't posted much at all since the NTAG accident. I am just hoping it isn't something silly like turning Batman backwards. But being as they will have likely shelled out a chunk of change in a lawsuit, and loss of profits, I wouldn't put it past them to do that and then market the heck out of it as some big new thrill. I am not holding my breath for a new coaster here in Arlington, this year. If they do, it'll be a nice surprise. And if they do, I hope it is over the top.

^^ I saw that. Jumped over this thread expecting to see a string of posts about it, only to find a string of posts about the NTAG accident at SFOT. SFOT has been VERY quiet on their FB page since the accident. And little to say about a "big announcement" coming tomorrow, unlike SFFT. Thinking SFFT is going to give me theme park envy next year. Good thing it's only a 4 1/2-5 hour drive from Dallas. And by the way, chocolate chunk, please.

AMEN to that! We went today and Titan was practically a walk onto ride, as was Judge Roy. Batman, NTAG, and Shockwave all 3 closed. Then Mr. Freeze was an hour long wait because they were only running one train. We went ahead and went for it since it was indoors with an a/c blowing. It is a great ride.

We went today and aside from the future test seat concrete, everything was tarped off as usual and quiet aside from a changing of the security guard. I saw nothing new at Shock Wave either. SSDD at SFOT. Oh, one other thing. There was freshly poured concrete at what appears to be a photo booth by Titan. Other than that. Nada.

^^ Another hint to nothing happening anytime soon in that area is the brand new pine privacy fence that was put up over there replacing the construction fence used during TSS construction. I am not getting my hopes up too high for another coaster. At this point, I'll be happy to have all the coasters in the park open at the same time and be able to ride them all in one visit. And that is asking a LOT, it seems. Maybe NTAG will be opened up for Fright Fest or HIP. I won't look for Shock Wave till next March. Something I noticed on my drive up north to Kansas was a little theme park in Oklahoma City called "Frontier City." I went there about 20 years ago and it seemed to me like a mini-Six Flags. It was a lot cheaper to get into and everything seemed kinda "smaller scale" to what I as used to at SFOT. I was attracted to it by the looping coaster (Silver Bullet) by the highway. I was looking at it again Sunday, and the loop seemed very Schwarzkopf-ish. Anybody know if that is another one of Schwarzkopf's creations? It was an alright ride. I have had better, but it was fun.

Sorry, I guess I should have clarified. It was just a guy. A guest. He was walking to the Titan in a group in front of us, he saw the security guy watching from the station and asked if the "Germans" had come yet. It was quiet all day there. Except for the occasional changing of the guard. That's it.

^^ Good to know. I thought it kinda sounded funny. Especially since I couldn't spot any black spots on the track (from my vantage point). It would have had to have been a small one. She was a real sweet girl, but doesn't work in that area. Shock Wave is an all time favorite of mine since the 80's. I would hate to have the thought of a potential repeat going through my head when I ride it again next. Thank you for clarifying. Onto the construction/destruction speculation.. Something new we noticed in that area was the old fence that was seemed more like a temporary construction type fencing in the area by Crazy Legs, that blocked off the mess where Flashback used to be,all season, and during TSS construction is gone. In its place is a real nice pine privacy fence. I speculate we don't see anything for a long time back there. I will say that when we peaked through the cracks that the pine smelled real good, though!

BS check. We went to SFOT today and while talking with one of the employees processing a picture order, we were talking about different stuff from NTAG accident to why Shock Wave was down. I knew that there was a damaged track because of a damaged train and it needed replaced. She added on that she was there when it happened that it had actually caught fire, and that she saw the fire dept. there. Anybody know if there is any truth to that?

Our home park is SFOT, and one thing I've noticed since the accident is the Six Flags commercials on the TV came to a halt. I saw the first one in weeks this morning. We went today, and noticed nothing new in Giantland. Was hoping to see some signs of opening. A test seat out front, the tarps taken down, something. Nope. As we walked to Titan, a guy hollered at the security guard standing in the station looking down at us if the "Germans" have made it here yet. He answered back, that they hadn't. I assume the "Germans" would be Gerstlauer. Maybe we'll get it by Fright Fest.
