  1. did the rollbacks occur in the first launch? on my second ride it never stopped in the tunnel and didn't make it up the loop and rolled back. sat in the tunnel for about 10-15 minutes then resumed the launch back and forward. then got an immediate re-ride.
  2. Congratulations, Caesar! I always thought that Apocalypse was fairly smooth. But the last few visits it's been torture, but still fun. Empty train with my friend and I in the back, was pretty debilitating though. LOL no way I'd even be able to do 30. long ago I did Viper 56 times in 4 hours. one bathroom break. i'm not sure I can do 3 in a row now. ha!
  3. good luck! i don't think i could do it now. 10 years ago, easily. my body doesn't take as much as it used to. the heat today would be the hardest part to overcome though honestly. stay hydrated!
  4. we must have been on the same train Thursday night. I was on the last Beast train too.
  5. I haven't been to Great America since Raging Bull was new. Maybe first or second year, I don't exactly remember. Without flash pass, I would not have made a detour out of my planned trip to Ohio to stop in Chicago. I also agree, it's not going away. Without flash pass, it would have been a total waste of time, imo. I'm so happy for it, for someone who doesn't have the time. I guess it's just never bothered me when I see the flash passers go by at Magic Mountain, my home park. Or even the first day I got there, we went for a few hours, and didn't get one. I will say, I did feel like a dick some times doing the re-ride. I wouldn't be upset if they got rid of that, although it was really awesome. I also didn't see loads of flash passers all over. It looks like there aren't that many available when you go to the flash pass distribution center? Unless there are more hidden than the spaces that they keep them in. I know only a few times I ran into re-riders. Anyway, had a great time. Those complaining about employees and park operations should come to Magic Mountain. LOL Goliath was awesome and I do hope for a Colossus retrofit!
  6. I did on my second ride opening day? the day after they had that midnight thing. I think there wasn't any thrust after the reverse launch. it went up about half of the loop. rolled back into the tunnel. it moved a few times until in position. we were stuck maybe 10 minutes then it launched backwards and forward normally over the loop. best part, we got to re ride immediately.
  7. Coming from LA California, just finished about a day and half roughly of SFGA. It's been a long time since I last was there. I think Raging Bull was in it's first or second year. Went straight from the airport and got there around 7pm Tuesday. Just rode Raging Bull, X-Flight and Goliath. Really liked all 3. Goliath being my favorite. Yesterday got there a bit late around 3pm and closed the place. Second to last to return my Platinum Flash Pass. Something I was able to do that I thought wasn't going to be able to was, to use my season pass BOGO deal. What the girl said she could do was, sell us the Gold with the passholder deal, then upgrade us to platinum. So, $70 for 2 gold, and $80 to upgrade. $70 savings. It was my first time using Flash Pass at any Six Flags and was great. Also, if it hasn't been mentioned, Goliath is now 2 rides, but no back to back. Both times, just walked all the way up passing the 120 minute line. Waited once more at the end of night for about 30-40 minutes. I thought the park was pretty clean, but remember, I'm coming from Magic Mountain. Employees and general park guests just act like they should. Had a great time! Heading to Ohio in the morning, Banshee Bash next!
  8. see dammit, i tried so hard to not post that question. but i couldn't find the FAQ anymore. so, I guess I am again taking the chance that someone links me and the FAQ works. thanks, for the info guys!
  9. was the schedule posted in the FAQ? I'm guessing all the extra info is gone now because the event is sold out? just curious what time it starts in the morning. less important is the total schedule. thanks
  10. i'm glad everyone is safe and okay. i really liked being able to watch the live feed. sfmm did a great, quick and safe job of getting everyone off. freak accidents happen. with all that said, my cousin posted a joke on my facebook..."Bummer. Maybe they need to change the Ninja name to Log Jammer?" too soon!?!
  11. i don't think the season pass one is advertised. might be a small sign at the pickup area. I was told on my last visit that they "ran out" of USB drives and were now offering some online version, but the images cost $2 each now. so I hope they continue next year with the sticks. I had it last year too.
  12. one of the best things they have are the season pass usb sticks. i think it was 34.95, but all digital pics are one dollar. front gate, ride, character, etc. all the same. wish cedar fair had something similar. also wish they had all the on ride photos they used to. i understand it's good for all six flags parks, too.
  13. wow, the platinum really needs to be explained better. especially if you can't double ride, what a bummer. i was pretty close to buying the platinum. i've never bought one, but i could swear at Magic Mountain, my home park, they use wristbands for platinum. something else I liked because i don't want to have to carry that egg around.
  14. does anyone know how well the flash pass works for Goliath. i know it's platinum. i'm going in about a month, and was thinking of getting it. will only be there a day, possibly a few hours the day before. no pass that day for sure, but probably the next. i know it's a lot of money, but only one day, and no idea when i'll come back. guess i'm asking where it dumps you into. the station? thanks for any info.
  15. i see, from a friends pics from today, they now have one of those picture boards where you insert your face in. i think it's the Griswold's with farewell Colossus and the date. Also, is a replica Griswold station wagon.
  16. I feel the same way. felt like i had a concussion the two times i've ridden. not interested in riding again soon.
  17. yes, I meant Route 4, sorry, and thanks for the info. i was looking around street view on google maps and saw nothing but farmland, which made me ask. thanks again for the info!
  18. Hi, hoping I can get some advice on which route I should take from Cedar Point to the Fairborn area. Planning on staying in that area so the drive isn't so far between Kings Island and Cedar Point. I've only made that drive long time ago and I believe both times, I drove the interstate 75 and 90. But that's about 40 extra miles, I think. Google maps shows highway 2 as a straight shot, but as a small 2 lane road it seems, is this the best route? Are there even gas stations and food on the way? lol I'm from Los Angeles and pretty much every fwy is major, so the smaller highways are a bit foreign to me. Thanks for any help! JT
  19. I hadn't ridden Ninja in a while, but the last two times I've gone, I have. Forgot how fun it is. They really do need to clean up the lift hill areas though.
  20. a question, and maybe a tip for those who have passes. one of the perks i see at http://sixflags.com/pass is buy one reg or gold flash pass get one free. when i log in, it specifically says no platinum. magic mountain is also referenced. what i'm interested in is, if anybody has bought a flash pass and been able to get the BOGO deal at another six flags that isn't the park they bought the pass at?
  21. nah, it's sucks going forward too. i've always enjoyed reverse more than forward.
  22. holly crap, just went on Colossus for the first time in a long time. i'm so glad they are closing it. that was seriously painful. Slurpee night was good. there are a few days where if you buy a Slurpee, you get a wristband for an hour of ERT after the park closes. Today was Goliath and Drop of Doom. I'd guess maybe 50-60 total people? However many, you didn't have to get off Goliath, and Drop of Doom was empty until we got there. Fun time.
