Does anyone know much about CP's "Sneak Peek Weekend" May 7th - 8th? What would be open (including restaurants)? How busy would it be? -

I actually planned to this morning but didn't see it. Either they pulled it, or it aired at a different time than the last two days. But I only watch for about 30 mins while getting ready for work. -

All they have to do is change 2 seconds of audio from "Now open at Dollywood" to "Opening soon at Dollywood". I could do that in a minute on my PC. Perhaps in the TV world, it's difficult to get changed? -

The GP isn't going to research. And really they should be able to rely on what DW tells them on TV just as much as what they tell them on their website, FB, etc. I've seen websites show false info too. And it bit me once. -

I'm 100% sure it said the coaster was open. It gave the "-est" stats, then said "Now open at Dollywood". This is in Nashville on WKRN. 3+ hours from DW. -

DW aired a TV commercial this morning for Lightning Rod saying it was now open! I guess maybe that was the only commercial they made for the season, but it seems like airing it now will do more harm than good. -
"Sorry, to see this ride in 3D you have to have to be on a two-year contract with a $10 monthly glasses fee." $10 would just be the monthy 3D technology fee. You'll also need to pay $10 for each eye for which you want to be able to see the ride in 3D. Or if you don't care to see the whole ride in 3D, even though you're also paying $10 a month for said 3D technology, you can pay $3 per eye and only see part of the ride in 3D.

I wouldn't say HP is underrated considering just about every non-enthusiast I talk to 3 states away knows about it, and it's always insanely crowded. Nor would I consider SFFT a small park (or underrated?).

Frontier City is a very nice park. It reminded me of a mini Dollywood. Adventureland near Des Moines, IA is also really nice (and Outlaw is probably underrated).

^ I've had a lot better snorkeling experience in Roatan than in Cozumel. We always enjoy Paradise Beach in Cozumel though (not for snorkeling). I really hope that ship is staying overseas. I hate porting where the Oasis or Allure is also porting, because of the amount of people. Last thing I want is to (along with the Harmony) double the chance of that happening. Meanwhile, the top Royal Caribbean executives (President/COO, CEO, and VP) have sold a lot of their shares recently; around $31M worth at least this year.

I've been with someone who's gotten an EAP pass at several Six Flags parks and at a few Cedar Fair parks (Kings Island, WoF...), and I've never noticed any of this. There was always either never a line to get the pass, or maybe one person ahead. And the lines at the rides were usually maybe a dozen people max (and often less). I agree that a lot of people do abuse it, but it's never caused an issue for me, as a regular rider. As mentioned, it's not a cut in line pass, it's just waiting in a different location. And I think people will easily forge doctors notes. Next time you're at Walmart, notice how all the handicap spots are full. There are a lot of certain people who have the handicap placards now, too many for them to all be for a legitimate reason, so they'll have no problem getting doctors notes. So I don't really have a problem with or without the policy, but don't think it's going to help much. And I think there'll be longer lines at guest services now than before this policy.

B&M Restraints: Old vs. New
Brent York replied to DBru's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
I can't imagine anyone voting for the old ones if they've ridden Iron Wolf. Or really, any standup or pre-Banshee inverted. I'd take no movement any day over headbanging and not being able to turn my head. I hated X-Flight and Wild Eagle's restraints since the vests got extremely tight during the ride and made me slightly claustrophobic, but Banshee and Thunderbird don't have that problem. Haven't ridden Gatekeeper. This! -
Golden Ticket Awards - 2015

Besides all the obvious bad choices near the top of both lists, would anyone actually rather ride Steel Force over Kingda Ka, or Shockwave over nearly any below it (other than Steel Force)? -

I predict a two part announcement. 1. Valravn dive coaster 2. Adding VR to Mean Streak to show you a better layout. -
If you mean the ship didn't burn up, then yes. But it burned for a long time and spread to a much larger area than what the cruise line will have you believe. It burned for an hour and a half. http://www.miamiherald.com/news/business/tourism-cruises/article28293175.html Some reports claim it was from nearly the bottom deck to the top deck. I don't care for this guy, but it seems to have the most accurate information on this fire. ie.: http://www.cruiselawnews.com/2015/07/articles/fraud/the-royal-caribbean-small-fire-hoax/ Several more articles at http://www.cruiselawnews.com Scary stuff.

You went to KD on a Tuesday, correct? Can't believe Volcano was so crowded. Too bad more parks haven't added others like it, as it really is a "blast". I never thought Shockwave was rough, although I haven't ridden it in 5 years. I don't see any anti-roll backs on Leap the Dips (?). Aren't those just chain dogs? -
Anyone ridden all the RMCs yet?
Brent York replied to kweiss's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
1. Iron Rattler 2. Wicked Cyclone 2. New Texas Giant Hopefully we can add Twisted Twins to that list next year.
