I love the layout f our park, it 4-5 interlocking loops that really never leave you more than 5 minute walk to any attraction. Where SFGAM seemed like one big loop with a smaller (southwest section) attached. That was my biggest complaint aboht SFGAM was the layout. -

Very few of these people are coming to St. Louis for the park alone. They are coming for what St. Louis offers as a whole-the Cardinals, the Zoo, Forest Park, the Brewery, Botanical Gardens, Grant's Farm, etc, etc. SFSL is just another one of the attractions that make the whole product. Also look at the cost of visiting St. Louis compared to anywhere else, it's cheaper than many other metro areas and tourist areas to visit, due to the number of FREE activities we offer. -

Props/scenes do not mean animatronics. Still looking forward to the ride and still very worried about capacity. Also I think they could have the ride finished by February and still wait until June to open it, unless they have another minor thing to add this year to bring guests back. Namtab anyone? I don' t think they've announced it for any park yet and thought the chassis was going to rotate parks. -

I don't dis agree that off duty officers should carry in most scenarios. My scenario was of a general admission concert, close to the person next to you, gun could fall out, fight could happen, the wrong person gets the gun, etc. Like you said you guys are trained professionals and know how to protect yourself and your weapon. -

What about when these guys are shooting? They don't go to the range and practice, and very seldom hit their intended target. Even if the metal detectors only catch 90% of stuff, what about how much they deter? I worked concert security for awhile and the first time i patted down an off- duty PO and felt what seemed to be a brick in his pocket, I was a little stunned. Seems like some environments, guns shouldn't be carried by off- duty, just my opinion. -

I wouldn't say I love the metal detectors, but I do appreciate that they are there. I think there needs to be more consistency as far as secondary screening goes and checking wheelchairs and strollers. During the cooler months I wear works boots (not steel toed), just a lot of eyelets that set off the detector, 2 of 4 times I was wanded and the other two I said it's the boots and the screener just let me pass through. As far as the main entrance goes, it is a complete disaster and eyesore. I believe I said in a previous post that the large fountain is just an afterthought now, as it used to be a centerpiece when entering the park before HH was added. I don't think adding any sort of kiosks would work. If you ever ride Metrolink, have you noticed how many people will use the live cashier when available and pass directly by the kiosks. I even do this myself as I find it much quicker and don't want to get $10 of change in coins. What I would like to see is 2-4 self service entry gates, where you could scan your own pass and thumbprint, removing the attendant, similiar to the self checkout at a grocery store. One attendant could man 4 turnstiles. Scan your pass, the turnstile would allow one entry then lock. Also guest relations is just a total mess, I seem to have to wait in this line 2-3 times a year as we always have someone in our family losing our pass. I wish they would just station a person outside the building, working the line and answering questions to people in line as it always seems about 1/3 of the people in line just need to go straight to the turnstiles or could visit the ticket windows. -

I for one, think that Iron Boss would be a great investment for the park. Or atleast a complete Topper Track re-tracking. Sorry for the double post, bt it seemed like we must have been typing at the same time. I think a simple topper track or re- tracking of THe Boss is not marketable to the GP. How do you advertise it? Come ride the new smoother Boss? That's admitting it was rough before. Does GP understand quality of a coaster? If a 16 looper were installed would it be popular with the GP? -

No one does. The nerds that do are few and far between. There aren't really any coaster cities. I disagree with this statement, just based on numbers. Let's say for the sake of argument and easy calculations that 1% of the population are enthusiasts and keep up on new coasters, etc. This would make St. Louis with a metro population of 4 million have 40,000 enthusiasts, while Chicago with a population of 20 million would have 200,00 enthusaists, so just by having a larger population would make you a coaster city. Btw, I just guesstimated on populations. This also goes to the argument of: Are you trying to satisfy enthusiasts or gp. Seeing that gp comprises 99% of the population, wouldn't it be better business to go after that crowd. The only argument would be that the enthusaists may make more visits to the park every year where the gp only visit 2-4 times. I would be curious how a ride like Outlaw Run or Goliath at SFGA are viewed by the gp. Are they worth the investment? -

I think he's adamant about not removing a coaster until another another one is added. I think it should be said that the kidie coaster isn't going to be along the lines of the Garvity Powerered Rolled Machine or whatever we had 10-15 years ago, but more along the lines of Wile E Coyote's Canyon Blaster or similiar. The do not want to lost the title of "Coaster Capital". So we would always have at least 10 coasters after the kiddie coaster would be installed. -

I also talked with Dave at FF about two weeks ago, he was very high on the Justice League ride. We also talked about an RMC conversion of the Boss and he said the same things, don't expect it. If the park had $18 million to spend (this was the number he threw out) they would much rather get a new steel coaster, not that it is likely either. His main goals seemed to be moving the carousel towards the front of the park near the palace gardens area and adding a "real" kiddie coaster. Just from talking with him it would seem any major steel installation is at least 5 years away. They would not consider removing any coaster until another one was added. Any thought on where a Kiddie coaster could go without removing an additional coaster? I would assume they would want to keep it near BBNP, so maybe removing Screaming Eagle's old unused queue area and taking part of the hillside from the Old Glory amphitheater. I really see the amphitheater as serving no purpose in recent years as they only fill it 3-4 times a year. so maybe rough idea on a timeline 2014-Justice League 2015-Moving carousel and Water park addition? At this point it would have been 3-4 years since Bonzai was added. 2016-Kiddie Coaster 2017-Removal of Ninja, replaced with Wing Rider or possibly RMC design? We would be one of the only parks without an RMC. -

Saturday was odd. When I got to the park around six the entire parking lot was nearly full. Batman had a least an hour wait and Ninja had a 15 minute wait. But by the time it got dark, people seemed to clear the park rather quickly. sunday was very similiar, seemed like everyone stuck around for freaks unleashed and then headed towards the exit. The last hour and a half was super slow most rides being walk ons. -

Just got back from our second FF visit this year. The crowd was very light as the weather kept people away, it ranged from a light mist to party cloudy. Anyway just a few thought about some of the attractions from FF and a quick picture at the end. Hypnotist show-haven't seen it yet, really have no desire to, as each time in previous years has been very similiar LAFF-not awful, but much better in year's past Deadbeats-Amazing! Best new show at SF in years. The show is really too short and could go on another 10-15 minutes for my liking, also great how they get a drum circle going during Freaks Unleashed. Would be great to keep these around year round as a roving entertainment group. Sideshow-Pretty much the same as year's past except the earless guy gets about 5 minutes to do his comedy routine. Not sure if anyone saw the story on him on Channel five a month or so ago. He does have a pretty interesting life story. Dancers-weren't able to catch any peroformances yet, as they seemed to be cancelled due to the wet conditions. Haven't done any of the houses yet. They have already been reviewed anyway. Walkthrough Clowns-I really don't like the move to the new area, they don't really get a chance to hide and scare you Zombies-not bad, although with the addition of Boomerang, this is really a high traffic area and also seems to lack some chances to hide and scare guests Voodoo-really good theming and decorations, but the actors just don't do anything for me. I really think they need to move these areas back to some of the backstage areas where there is less foot traffic and could really surprise some people. Also met HWFan today at guest relations-looks like we screwed up in buying a membership rather than a season pass, not sure why the wife did it that way, but you were very helpful in explaining. And now for of pic of me and HARLEYGUYJB -

Stopped by the park for about 4 hours this afternoon was a pretty busy day. Took a few pictures with the phone of some Fright Fest setup and a couple things I hadn't noticed before. Wanted to ride the train to get some pictures of the setup there, but for some reason we skipped it. We did notice some of the dancers rehearsing while we were eating at MooseBurger, they finished up by time we got down to the Palace to take any pics, looked like the similar Red and Black outfits from last year. Overall the day was not bad, but as in previous visits operations seem on the slow part. I'm scared if they have a huge turnout for Fright Fest the park won't keep up. Also, the main entrance turnstiles were divided up very weirdly- a large section in the middle for pass processing, and smaller sections on either side for tickets and passes. This could cause some major backups if they keep it this way for Fright Fest. Clown haunt area near Batman Price points for Fright Fest, I don;t think any change from last year. Sign in front of The Boss, I hadn't noticed before. Covering queue entrance to Scooby Deadbeats stage in front of Scooby. No other construction or deconstruction was noticeable from the outside. Another picture of Scooby. New Zombie? haunt area near the Log Flume. Spider nest located across from Moon Cars, very well done. -

Your wife actually asks to go to parks?! Nice! I'm jealous. Yep, great weather, youngest son had an early soccer game, so she asked about noon, hey wanna go? We really only go to take the kids, as I really don't ride much nor does the wife, but we do have food passes, so it makes for a cheap family day. About $20 for fuel and a drink refill. I drive a Chevy Silverado all the way from North County so I figure 2-1/2-3 gallons each way. -

So the new ride has less capacity, but compensates b having a shorter ride time? Seems legit. I really am looking forward to the ride, just not how long the wait will be. -

Sorry I meant 7. Does anyone know how many boats Scooby is currently operating with and how many it was originally opened with? I'm just thinking 7 vehicles x 6 passengers will be less than X number of boats x 4 passengers. -

Anyway back on topic here. Two things weird about the new ride, they say six perosn vehicles, but the picture only shows a 4 seater. I'm guessing it would be three rows of two? According to the link both buildings are 15,000 SF, but we onlt get 6 cars not 10, done on purpose to keep the line at the less attended park longer? -

I want too, But my family is worried about St. Louis in it's current condition (Ferguson) so it's a huge IF. That is the second most ignorant statement I have heard on this board. Please don't come. Where is the like button when you need it?
