Wow, this is a really surprising accident and not really the kind of thing you'd expect nowadays. Really glad nobody was injured. -

I think this coaster might finally be what snaps me out of my eternal loop of not visiting Energylandia on the basis that every time I think of visiting, they announce something else. -

OK...? Not sure if you mean this will be the new Harry Potter coaster, you're not giving us much to go on. If you do, then you're wrong I'm afraid as none of the supports on site match up with this. It's more likely to be an Intamin swing launch coaster as there is a spike and the supports are obviously not for inverted track.

I love how Cedar Point gets rid of one stand up coaster, and replaces it with another Honestly the POV is totally eye-watering. I've never seen anything like it. -
Europa Park Discussion Thread
KarlaKoaster replied to Ultracoasters's topic in Theme Parks, Roller Coasters, & Donkeys!
Europa Park is always pretty busy, but you can check school holidays on this website here: https://www.schoolholidayseurope.eu Remember to check not only Germany, but also surrounding countries like France and Switzerland as it is close to the border. I should think May will be OK, though, I think most schools in Europe break up late June. Regarding the waterpark hotel, it looks brilliant but I feel I should mention that it isn't actually right next to the park like the existing hotels and you have to get a short shuttle bus. One of my favourite things about the existing resort hotels is that they're right next to each other and right next to the resort. It's really nice to be able to come and go as you please, wander around the hotels at night, go to different bars, restaurants. Obviously it's not impossible at the new hotel, but it just makes things a bit more awkward. I would personally stay at either Colosseo or Bell Rock, and do one evening at the new waterpark resort. -
I think I rode it in most seats. I really enjoyed it and it's a great coaster. I don't think I'd ever describe it as ordinary, and honestly even the worst B&M hyper is still really good, but it wasn't my favourite B&M hyper for sure. Yes I agree it definitely doesn't have the reride value of Mako. I did do Mako probably about 20 times when I was there, and Manta about 4 or 5. It honestly blew me away, but I totally agree that it's not comfortable enough to marathon!

I love Seaworld's coasters, they have a really solid collection. I rode Kraken in its first year, and I also rode it last year. It seemed fine to me in terms of roughness. Perhaps the train you rode needed a service, although I am short so maybe that helps. Mako is really fun but one of the weaker B&M hypers I've ridden. Manta I absolutely adore, although my boobs disagree.

If it was a picture, it was probably just lens distortion from the camera. You can't really tell from photos if a line is straight or not. https://www.practicalphotography.com/camera-advice/questions-and-answers/what-is-lens-distortion -

Thanks Norwegian coasterfan, I thought it might be that 1. It's replacing the track, but they will keep the layout as close to the original as possible 2. The ride is nearly 30 years old so I guess it needed repairs, plus it was quite rough for some people -

New new Can Can picture courtesy of EP's Facebook page. There's red track in the foreground, and grey/black track towards the top of the picture which looks like original track to me, not sure. Perhaps the red track will all be towards the bottom of the ride and there will be scenic elements and it will be lighter (which is why the track is coloured). -

Here's a couple of artist impressions showing the train and layout. I love the theming - not sure if this is just conceptual or what will actually appear on Fantawild's versions. I hope they can update their restraints so they're more like Intamin's new lapbars rather than vest restraints. Other than that, I'm loving Vekoma's rebirth at the moment. -

Really nice videos. Raveleijn is just about one of my favourite theme park shows in the world, and I even include Disney in that comparison. It's such a cool mix of stunts, special effects and is visually stunning -

I'm not a fan of the trains, but honestly it isn't important and everything else about the ride looks so well put together. The second section of the coaster looks incredible, and with the structure surrounding the track it's going to be hard telling when you're the right way up or not. -

It says a lot about the rate of expansion when I totally missed the fact there was a tilt coaster on the way too However the park is financed, the speed of growth is unbelievable and I hope it is sustainable. They are quickly putting together pound for pound one of the best collections of coasters in the world. -

I think that sounds like a good plan, the only really good ride you will miss out on is Muntanya Russa which is a really fun (but short) Vekoma coaster with amazing views. Three hours should be just about the right amount of time to do the rides, maybe get some churros and enjoy the view The Panorama ticket is for the highest level of the park which has the best views and includes Avió (the plane ride) and Talaia (an observation ride) which are both really old and historical. It is also worth doing L'Embruixabruixes. Hopefully you will have a clear day and can enjoy the views. Avió, the plane ride, is very low capacity so even a short queue will move very very slowly but it is worth doing it for the novelty factor as it is totally unique. -

Tibidabo was penciled in for the Friday night before the Cruise. We want to hit Case Batllo, Familia and Park Guell during the day and finish it off up on top Where do the buses to Tibidabo leave from? The bus leaves from Placa de Catalunya, which is walking distance from Casa Batllo. In one corner of Placa de Catalunya there is a Desigual store, so look for the stop which has a signpost for T2A: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@41.3874739,2.1687504,3a,75y,345.51h,96.94t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1sQzSw6e91Dx4C_nThwuVgPg!2e0!7i13312!8i6656 The journey only takes about 30 minutes. Make sure you get the correct bus back down as there is also a T2B service that goes elsewhere. Make sure you get tickets in advance for Sagrada Familia and Casa Batllo. You don't need to print the tickets, you can just show them your phone with the barcode. -

I can't remember them closing rides in the rain so you should be OK. You can get the bus from Placa de Catalunya (the bus stop is outside the Desigual store). It is the T2A and goes every 30 minutes. Other Barcelona tips: most of the restaurants on Las Ramblas are terrible. The only nice one is Ultra Marinos. Also if you like architecture, as well as doing Sagrada Familia consider doing Recinte Modernista de Sant Pau. It's walking distance from Sagrada Familia, is super beautiful and also relatively quiet compared to Sagrada Famila which is super busy. PM me if you want any more tips as I know this is off topic, I lived in Spain for 15 years -

If you are going to Barcelona, also consider getting the bus to Tibidabo. Not just because of the credits, but also because the views from the top are amazing, particularly if you pay 3€ to go up to the top of the church there. -

Instead of normal upstop wheels, there is an upstop rail in the middle of the track that the boat attaches onto. In looking into finding a photo to illustrate this, I found a link to an article showing an evac of Divertical which eloquently proves A.J.'s theory that it is in case the lift gets stuck https://www.ilrestodelcarlino.it/ravenna/cronaca/mirabilandia-divertical-bloccato-video-1.2319490 Image showing the upstop rail. I don't really see the point of refining Arrow's old school loopers. The world has moved on and Vekoma already sell a multi-looper fit for the 21st century.
