  1. Oh, ok then. I can stop writing this note of complaint to SFNE . Finally I have found someone on this forum my own age!
  2. Due to the fact that Cyclones white hue is sort of synonymous with the coaster itself, I think they will use pressure treated wood and give that a whitewash.
  3. That does bring up a good point. If they are closing it this early, it should be open by late April. But then again, this is the oldest coaster RCM has ever worked with, they could be planning for complications and set backs that might be encountered.
  4. Yeah, you have a very good point. But the one thing I hope they keep is that legendary first drop. If they remove it, it would be taking the heart out of it. Oh, and how about we have a Cyclone mourning session (or party depending on how you liked it...) or
  5. I think they will be using the iron horse treatment because it is smoother, easier to maintain, and it would become a must see for any coaster enthusiast. Oh, and since Cyclone is closing early, that means that we would be able to see it being rehabbed for three and a half months. That will make updates so much easier.
  6. Is anyone concerned that it will be demolished for good?
  7. Also, I was reading the magazine Roller Coaster and it was a special on Sfne. It said that the manager claimed Bizarro would chance back to SROS.
  8. Storming OUT of new england!? Retiring!?! WHAT?!?! Man, they are going to milk this opportunity for publicity like a prized heifer.
  9. Excuse me for a second, I am off to go and move to Europe and never return (I wish)
  10. Ok, that makes a little more sense, and in that case you are right. It is known for having steep inclines, a tight layout, and a nice winding course. Oh, and imagine the opportunities for airtime and rolls.
  11. Yeah, I think you are right. That would be a fantastic edition to the park considering it would be a world first, a huge publicity magnet, and it really bring some life back into the old thing. By the way, if you look on YouTube, there's a guy who has used No Limits to simulate what the redesign might look like... http://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=Iron+cyclone+Six+flags+New+england&FORM=VIRE1#view=detail&mid=23CB79F1BA3A5A4EAFFE23CB79F1BA3A5A4EAFFE
  12. OH MY GOODNESS!!! Fantasy has become reality! By the way, has anyone considered a prototype idea like a cable lift or maybe even an electromagnetic lift hill similar to the one on Maverick. I know this idea sounds a little ridiculous nut if you think about it, the steel rails would be plenty strong to support that kind of stress and if it's an electromagnetic lift hill, they would really be killing two birds with one stone.
  13. By the way, the other day I took a ride on the new england sky screamer and I must say the views were simply breath taking.
  14. Dang it, I was hoping for an inverting flat or sorts so the park can finally regain what they lost. Also, putting a roll on the drop would be hard to pull off, not to mention it is fantastic as is. Slowing the ride down by adding a roll would take all the fun out of it and the coaster would loose its claim to fame.
  15. By the way, does anyone have any rumors about the possible Bizarro makeover. To be honest I am quite excited about this particular rumor, due to the fact that it could bring a new life to Bizarro. It just feels like when the revamped Superman Ride of Steel, they sort of did a hap hazard job with the entire thing. All of the special effects with the exception of the "S" shields and the fog machines have all failed and even the paint is fading now. Does anyone share the same opinions as me?

  17. Wow, that is really disappointing. I was looking forward to riding Goliath again this season, but with all of the bad reviews, I just don't want to ride, but then again, I want to see how bad it is for myself so I can judge. Also, I was thinking the new trains would improve the ride. Since Premier is a pretty prestigious company, I just assumed they would pump out another awesome product, but in this case it looks as if they set the standard for awful.
  18. Hey guys, I don't know if you have heard the news, but Cyclone is closing early this year which could mean its getting the Iron Horse treatment!
  19. Ok, that would explain a lot. I have people who I know that when ever a ride stalls or breaks down and therefore has to be fixed, say that someone was killed or hurt, and the worst part is that I will kindly remind them that you have a higher chance of dying in an average offline lawn chair, but they just don't listen. It bugs the heck out of me. Oh, and does anyone know weather they have resolved the issues with the new premier trains giving rough rides. One more thing... every time I go to six flags Barman is a walk on. I have even had it where they let us go twice in a row.
  20. Yeah, I came here form Texas and I have lived here for 7 years and I can tell you the constant New England and especially the Bwastan accent drive me crazy. This aggravates me more considering I am mostly British (but sadly I don't have the accent). Oh, and by the way, I need some advice. I am headed out to SFNE with some buddies and I need to know a good date to go. It can't be on a weekday and it cant be on Memorial Day since the crowds will be insane.
