  1. Hmm good question.. I believe it'll be the same as luminights still.. they honor it but it's not 3:00... I believe it's 4:00 or 5:00 to get in free the next day Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  2. Sometimes but not all rides are open.. it's basically like the luminights night before preview they did this year.. for the luminights preview, only that side of the park was open. You will get your invite in an email if they do one Also note it's only for pass holders Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  3. I did notice from watching videos of this weekend, they did moge the dance party.. it's now in front of the bakery beside the ice cream shop.. earlier photos and videos showed it around Dropline but that wasn't where it was located last night.. so looks like Dollywood is trying to fix the crowded issue Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  4. I'm here tonight, much less crowded but still crowded.. it's fun, parts are actually kind of creepy.. foods good, loved the Apple Sunday! Apples with hot Carmel and whipped cream and Reese's pieces.. basically a cut up candy apple! Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  5. Dollywood expanded the path in that area this off season All parks, even huge ones like Disney have issues during holidays and special events.. Six Flags has them during Fright Fest.. Disney during New Year's and so on These same issues came up last year during the new parade at Dollywood. What Dollywood can do though is make an exit path that leads to another area of the park.. guard the path and it's exit only.. even if it goes through a backstage area. 6. These same complaints came last year during the revamped Christmas Parade.. Unfortunately, Dollywood just isn't built for the crowds they draw in for events like this. But even Disney has issues during special events and parades and essentially just have to reroute traffic.. Disney reroutes their New Year's traffic of people exiting through back stage areas and it's still a standstill.. Dollywood has several backstage areas back there and I wonder if the opened those up for people exiting only, if it would help? They might not be linked to other areas of the park though like Disney's are so it might not help much but just a thought.. Disney has someone guarding these exits and they tell people they are for exiting the event only! Most of them at Disney come out on Main Street. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  7. Ehhhh sounds like the haunted attractions at six flags.. people will complain but will continue to come.. Six Flags Over GA has never addressed their complaints of the haunted attractions but people every year continue to buy those bands and wait in lines for hours at a time just to walk through a not so scary haunted house lol to that takes two minutes Also Dollywood is full of trashy rednecks so it doesn't surprise me that a fight broke out.. We can't have anything nice at Dollywood lol Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  8. Like how Dolly snuck Dollywood into the new Miley Cryus Album? If you haven't heard yet, listen to rainbowland Dolly is actually very funny in it to, at least her talking before the song! Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  9. It's hot! Probably a glitch though but still it's hot outside Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  10. Dreammore has a bar Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  11. It's very hit and miss that time of year.. a few years ago we had a very pretty weekend around Thanksgiving.. I can't remember if it was the weekend before or the weekend of.. but anyways, it was a record breaking day at the park! We are talking over 35000 guest.. the week was pretty to so it was fairly busy during the week even During that time of year they focus on the evening so most of the weeks hours are afternoon evening only unless it's the week of a holiday and the know folks will be off.. if you want long hours you have to visit on weekend Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  12. Here's the sign Dollywood puts outside Wild Eagle. This was out last week the day I was there Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  13. The University of Tennessee calls them a type of paper wasp. The sign at Dollywood actually says the same thing. People on here just call them bees Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  14. This is the time of year we get bees (Actually I think technically they are a form of wasp but not sure) in the area, but I doubt it is bee related.. These bees don't build nest according to the University of Tennessee and are said to just gather around high structures this time of year.. According to the University of Tennessee, these bees are said to actually be migrating because they aren't native to the mountains but there are a lot of folks in the area who don't believe that. Simply put, bees would cause the TC but not a CD.. The bees normally leave when it cools down and normally don't get bad until later in the morning to early afternoon. Id assume they are having some technical issues OR POSSIBLY doing something to it for the Luminights! That is the area for Luminights. Maybe they have something they don't want people to see for luminights so they are closing it now until luminights starts.. yeah you can probably see whatever from wild eagle BUT you wont be focusing on stuff on WE.. Just another theory if it isn't having technical issues But again, I doubt bees would make them do a CD.. One last theory, if bees are making it CD, they are simply doing it because they don't want to staff it right now.. This is a VERY SLOW time of year for the park, probably the slowest time of the year.. Being mid week and knowing bees might keep it closed for 75% of the day, they might be making the decision to just not staff it.. While I doubt this is the case, Dollywood isn't known for doing stuff like this, but it is a possibility. But again, bees don't affect these rides all day long.. They are usually fine in the morning and fine again when it starts cooling off after 4ish in the evening.. But with the park closing at 6 this time of year, like I said, they might not want to staff it for only 3 - 4 hours it would be open if bees are gathering around it Again, none of this is official and it was open when I visited last week.. They had bee issues then on WE the day I was there.. So these are just some ideas I have that might be causing it Neat theory about the bees. When they built the top on LR people said "Ohh wouldn't that just give the bees a place to build nest" and that's when articles from the Universty of Tennessee were published about these bees.. The top on LR actually kept the track cool so that the bees didn't hover around the track.. No idea if the hovered around the top or not but it being away from the track it was safe.. This is also why Pete said in the future (not near future) they might be looking to put these tops on other rides such as wild eagle
  15. They actually have a bunch of them hanging like ghost.. grabbing a pic was just a last minute idea so I didn't get the rest in the pic But yes, they had a black wire running to them so I'd imagine they have lights in them Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  16. It's drained or looked drain as far as I could tell and it also had a big fence around it so you can't see in (aside from peaking through the gaps. Which I did.. it was hard to see but drained but no other work had been done yet as far as I could tell).. it had advertisments for Luminights all around the fence.. Almost made me wonder if the maze is going to be located there! I doubt it but other than luminights being posted all around the fence, no other teasers were up Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  17. Few Teaser from luminights are out and about as well! Looks neat! Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  18. I saw an albino skunk there a few years ago, told the crew about it and they said it was a regular and just to leave it alone and it would be fine lol Dollywood was getting packed towards the end of the day.. I ended up leaving and heading towards cades cove which ended up being closed.. FYI for those visiting the next few days, the Park Service did end up closing almost all roads in the national park by dark tonight and started evacuating places like Cade's Cove, even the Campground.. so plan accordingly if you are visiting over the next few days when the rain hits! Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  19. Best part of Dollywood though! Nature and baby ducks Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  20. Doesn't look like two trains are helping LR much, it's stacking so bad the second train isn't really helping lines or the ride move any quicker.. maybe it helps during certain parts of the day but as of now it's not doing much on a slow day at the park Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  21. At the park today, seems like the longest wait are for the trams! 15 mins and counting so far because they seem to only be running short ass trams and by the time they get to "C" they are full Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  22. Exactly, people ignore them.. nothing's changed, people just don't listen or want to follow the rules haha Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  23. Let's just hope they don't install metal detectors and require mandatory pat downs! As if LR didn't have bad enough dispatches... just imagine that! They have loc**ers right beside the ride.. I'd be curious if a loc**er policy for this ride would help.. have someone at the door and require folks to use them.. I hate those policies but if you look at the LR downtime it goes down for 30 - 45 minutes two or three times a day.. at least once everyday.. I wonder how many of those are because someone got hit by something? Maybe not having a policy but having an op at the door simply reminding people not to bring phones and stuff on the ride and that are lockers to the side might discourage some of it. Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  24. At one point someone said they are a "finger smacker" type device to warn you not to reach your hands out so far.. No idea how true that is but we pretty much stopped talking about it when we got that answer haha.. To me they look like sensors but we were told a warning device to warn your hands and arms Sent from my MHA-L29 using Tapatalk
  25. That's common, a lot of the downtime can be contributed to folks getting hurt or hit due to flying objects. I know a few of us have posted very similar occurrences in this thread and it normally takes about 30 - 45 mins to get the ride up and running again.. Depending on what flew out, they walk the track as well.. they probably did it while u were there to and that could take a few while also.. I wish people would just follow the rules or wish Dollywood would be more strict if they catch someone not following the rules.. it hurts everyone when one bad apple doesn't want to let go of their phone!
