  1. Would be nice if that track was replaced with Steel
  2. What are the odds of the Park re-opening under new Management? Any chance??
  3. Took the family to PCB in July. The new location was hidden, you could not see the Park from the Outlet Mall or even from the main street that runs along the beach. They lost all their foot traffic. I bet most folks didn't even know it was there. Sad to see the project failed.
  4. Thrilled to hear this. Boss is fine the way it is provided they give it the appropriate care. Admittedly, this is more than a typical wooden coaster would get because it's a giant terrain coaster. The best RMC StL could get is a RMC built from scratch...unless they want to take a shot at Ninja. Dave and I both agreed that we would much rather see RMC come and put topper track on the Boss (which would cost less). They could change the banking or profile a tad here and there to add to the thrill but nothing over the top. The Boss' biggest problem is really the Gerstlauer trains. Holiday World was lucky to get rid of there's on the Legend pretty quickly. Topper track would also allow the ride to run whenever it is colder, and it would minimize the chance of the trains getting stuck in a valley. Gerstlauer's trains are so bad that the Boss had to run PTCs from Screamin' Eagle for media day, as the G trains wouldn't complete the circuit. Even today, the park is lucky to have a fantastic rides crew who knows the Boss really well. One of my good friends is the rides supervisor over that whole area of the parks (the park is separated into three areas, in terms of rides), and she loves the Boss. Each train (three total) has its own quirks and things you have to do. You probably have never seen them, but there are a couple off-the-shelf yard sprinklers attached to the second huge turn around after the MCBR. They run them almost every morning before the park opens. Then, as the days get colder, there is one train (can't remember which color) that sometimes gets parked on the lift hill in order to warm up by sunning itself. In the end, it's a case of Six Flags purchased a product from a company that ended up having some issues. Hearing stories and seeing things myself, it really amazes me how much work the rides staff put into making sure that the Boss can run three trains as much as possible. They truly go above and beyond what basic standard operating procedure would be to keep the line moving. And also Topper Track would make it re-ridable, as it would smooth it out and cause less Headaches and Bodily Injuries
  5. Nice Job... Love to see something that happen
  6. Careful... just setting yourself up for yet another disappointment
  7. Topper Track is all it needs, and maybe a Barrel Roll instead of the Bunny Hills behind the Station. Oh, and new Trains!!!!
  8. The Park needs a Jr coaster, great idea. The Moon Cars should be yanked anyway, surprised the attraction lasted this long.
  9. You too, eh? haha. Although Goliath is far from my favorite hyper, it's still a great ride. That helix... Yeah, it would have been awesome.
  10. Theming has been gone since the Mid 90's ... now it is just adding rides where they fit
  11. Thanks for posting the Video, enjoyed it. A Crazy line for the River King Mine Train.
  12. I get the appeal, but I think the park needs big league steel. I'd settle for most anything, but something large, smooth, and fast would be great. I only have experience with one EuroFighter, Dare Devil Dive, and I found it incredibly underwhelming. Ninja just needs the new Vekoma vest restraints I can't tell if you're being sarcastic or not. I have a terrible feeling that you might be right. Agreed because Six Flags would buy them in Bulk and they can fit pretty much anywhere. If we were to get anything Custom it would be a transplant from another park.
  13. Has anyone gotten any response from this past weekend? I sent them an email Monday night and haven't heard squat. As it says on the website, please allow a week for a response. Especially if there's a time that they're jammed with web comments... ...however... ...once you get to that eighth day, go ahead and absolutely flood them. Flood their social media. Flood their phone lines. Flood their web comments. Flood the forums. Tell everyone you can. After today, I'm too burnt out to pretend to care anymore. I'm not going to apologize for any experience you have. I'm not going to help with any issue you experience. Absolutely hold them accountable. Be reasonable, but after they don't respond, call the media for all I care. I understand where youre coming from. This forum is just a trash heap of needless negativity and I wonder why I check it every day just to see the obligatory Iron Boss/Hyper Coaster posts or people complaining in detail about the issues they have with the park. I swear, no other forum on TPR acts like this, it's just this one. I've gotten kinda sick of it. ...and it would all be solved with a Hyper which most of us have been waiting 10 years for.
  14. I keep hearing these 'cutting the ride in half' comments... again I will refer to Mexico's Medusa which is similar to the Boss. The POV's of Iron Medusa look incredible and it appears to be the same length as the original. I do realize The Boss does go up hill after the Fourth Drop into the Bunny Hills and the Dbl Helix, I guess that could be a factor.
  15. I imagine a RMC version of The Boss would resemble, to a degree, Medusa down in Mexico City. Both coasters are similar and built around the same time. An out and back like the Eagle doesn't provide RMC with a whole out of options in my opinion. A twister would give them a better base to work from. Just my two cents. The Screamin' Eagle, if well maintained and given the proper TCL, is no where near the end of its lifespan. I would prefer to keep it as-is, it is a landmark and pretty much defines SFoMA/SFSTL.
  16. Previous page HWFan commented how SFSTL is much like SFDK. I find that compelling to say the least. Just a general observation or is there something more hidden in the sentence. Hmmm?
  17. I would think when the Ninja goes everyone will be happy, but what do I know.
  18. I would have thought Tidal Wave would get yanked before Rush Street.
  19. The Skyline will look good, especially at night, with the new ride. It would be nice if they did something for the 40th anniversary of the Screamin Eagle. At a minimum get the Chaser lights working again.
  20. We all have one thing in common, we do want our home park to thrive and grow. Sometimes I lean on the negative side as well so I get where Prozach is coming from, but I believe we all share that common ground. I enjoy reading your posts HWFan, hope you don't leave the forum.
  21. My only hope is that we follow Disovery Kingdom and get an RMC conversion on the Boss next year - they got a Super Loop 2015 and Roar RMC Conversion 2016. ...yeah, a pipe dream right
