  1. I know it's a small bandwagon, but based on my four rides back in 2003 I used to have this at number one woodie. It's been surpassed, but those helices were fun rough, not rough rough. But I got my ride on it, so it can be killed in favor of Intamin Goodness if the park wishes. I'm willing to bet that this ride is gone within the next 6 years. Sometimes a "prototype" coaster clearly isn't working (200 ft. hyper looping woodie qualifies here), and parks will take the hint and save themselves some time and money. We've seen it happen recently with the Deja Vu's and the original X trains.
  2. Kings Dominion is building Water Snake Seahorse on Ice! The Ride ops on Anaconda told me! They're expanding the lake and everything!
  3. Yeah Lake Winnie! First Coaster I rode-Caterpillar (Wacky Worm), when I was 4 years old. Used to be 20 minutes away, now it's like 30. Too far for me to work there not owning my own car . Also, when I'm in Knoxville at UT, Dollywood is closer at that point, 40-50 minutes.
  4. This is possibly the most excited I've been about a new coaster since the Voyage Hype of winter 05-06. My prediction: B&M Hyper for Kings Dominion. Intamin Launched for Carowinds. If this happens that is sex.
  5. Maverick with the Heartline Roll was only ridden by ONE person ever, if you're one of those "New Experience, New Ride" people.
  6. Which is totally accurate considering Holiday World just did it in one night. We have a new Six Flags.
  7. I visited this park for the first time back in early May while Ka and Bizarro were both closed, and it was still awesome, my third favorite park overall (above Hershey and Dorney on the same trip). Firstly, get there on time. You are going to need to use all of your time that you have to accomplish this park. My suggestion is to ride Ka if it is open first thing in the morning, and either Batman or Superman if it isn't (because waiting in line an hour for a cloned ride is pretty lame). El Toro, Nitro, and probably Bizarro are all people movers. The Mine Train, Scream Machine and Rolling thunder will be bearable waits at any time, Dark Knight and Skull mountain shouldn't be much wait time, and they're indoors so that's welcome anyway. Good luck getting on everything. Flash pass might not be a bad idea.
  8. Row 6 of SFOGGASM beat the hell out of me. The roughest single experience I've ever had on a coaster, with at least 8 moments of VIOLENT head jolting , which was ridiculous since the seat directly in front of it gave a normal ride. I wouldn't be shocked to hear that they had to replace the wheels the very next day.
  9. Well, since I went today and have information from today, I'll make a few comments here. First, every rollercoaster ran one train except Superman and Mine Train. The park barely had enough people in it to fill each train, and it was a fair policy due to the rain that fell all day. Batman and GASM almost needed two, but it wasn't any more than a 15 minute wait for either (for any seat other than the front). The one exception here was Goliath. It sorely needed two trains, considering that, according to the station counters, it was releasing a whopping, amazing, astounding, ELEVEN trains per hour. The line was on the stairs or in the station all day, but it would take about 20 minutes to get on any row, and about 45 to an hour for the front. I am horribly spoiled by how fantastic the Nitro Crew was three weeks ago, but the lackluster operations by the employees there were enough to get comments from the general public. Park employees were very slow everywhere, uncomparably worse than GADV a few weeks ago, but it was ok this time due to the emptiness of the park. I could easily see myself getting pissed off if the park had double the people of today, which would have been easy. Very slow ops. Superman's quickest dispatch was 3.5 minutes by my watch. Also, GASM in the 6th row was RIDICULOUSLY rough. The worst ride I have ever taken on any coaster ever, worse than Son Of Beast, Mean Streak, GA Cyclone, Twisted Twins or anything else a million times over. If you ride GASM this year, get OUT of the wheel seat (last row in any car). I would rather have been punched in the face by Floyd Mayweather.
  10. I'm going to be there tomorrow, so I can provide a crew evaluation for each ride (except Superman, probably won't ride) if it's going to affect whether or not you visit. Crew Operations don't ever make me want to visit a park or not. But it definitely adds to the experience, Robb is dead on. Waiting in line for Dragster or anything at Holiday World will usually be a better experience than what happens on any Six Flags ride. Not that important though, especially with the recent almost industry-wide rediscovering of this aspect of a guest's experience.
