  1. This is Six Flags we're talking about. Anything is possible.
  2. There is a possibility that it has nothing to do with Full Throttle. It could have just been a marker by a mechanic to mark something on Gold Rusher
  3. I don't think that all of Arrow's loops were exactly the same height, just similar in height. As you can see, Viper at Darien Lake has 17 ties too. Photo taken from RCDB
  4. An Australian theme where you are riding the Boomerang flying by Kangaroos and the Sydney Opera House. That would be cool, but what do you expect? It is just a Boomerang.
  5. ^I Like the idea of moving the haunted house into the Galaxy Theater. The problem with moving the fireworks is that the reason why they use the island is because the fireworks are right overhead, and you don't have to look the other way.
  6. 1. Arrow Lift Hills 2. Old Woodie Anti-Rollbacks 3. CCI Coaster Brakes 4. SLC Lift Motors 5. The Screechy Sound when an Arrow Coaster goes through a Corkscrew.
  7. I calculated around 57 feet. I used the Demon at Six Flags Great America. It has a 103 foot lift and a 90 ft drop. So then it's 13 feet off of the ground after the drop. Then it goes up to 70 feet through a loop. 70-13= 57 feet.
  8. Putting something on the island would be good because it would drive more people towards Darien Square and the campground. It is not possible though because of the fireworks.
  9. One thing that I forgot to say was I would like to say no lagging. In RCT3, when you put a larger park into night mode, it lags and makes the rides and coasters look choppy. (They will get slower and move one inch, then another inch.)
  10. Room is not a problem. Like I shown in a previous post, there are two places in the park where there is a lot of room for a coaster. First is the area that is opened up for Fright Fest behind the Ride of Steel. Second is behind the go kart track. Both locations are circled in red. The picture was taken from Google Maps.
  11. ^Well that's fair. It is nice that they are letting people chose seats if they like, but in the summer season, it's going to be a nightmare with all of the extra people wanting to do so.
  12. The fact of the matter is that there no reason why Darien Lake should or would remove Mind Eraser. End of story.
  13. There seems to be a lot of talk about Fantasy Island on the Darien Lake thread, so I thought that I would just start a thread for the heck of it. So let me start off. What do you think will be new for 2013?
  14. Oops, forgot one. 5. There is no room for it.
  15. Assigned seating seems good for people who really don't care where they sit. A good idea would be to assign for all of the cars except for the front and back, and have a seperate queue for those cars.
  16. I don't think that the Mind Eraser will be removed any time soon no matter how much people want it gone. Here are some reasons: 1: I recall Darien Lake stating at one time that it is one of their favorite coasters. 2: It is New York's only SLC. 3: It has long queue times in the summer. 4: It is a nice looking ride in the area it is in and brightens up the park.
  17. I would like to see stalls (like bathrooms, food stands, and game stands) and a good ride collection. Another thing that I would like to see if possible, is an easy system that allows you to create flat rides. I always liked trying to recreate Darien Lake in RCT3, but I couldn't because their collection of rides is so unique and nobody made a CFR.
  18. It would be better scrapping it then to keep having people ask about it. At least the park would make some money.
  19. There is a lot of room behind the go-kart track and Preforming Arts Center. The go-karts could be removed for the queue, and behind it could be the coaster. If they really wanted to keep the go-karts, they could probably modify the Tin Lizzy's track
  20. I couldn't agree any more. To keep guests of all ages coming to the park, Darien Lake shouldn't just focus on families. They already have a great selection of family rides. People who like thrill rides are going to get bored after a couple of rides on Blast Off and want a new coaster to go on. A thrill ride is a step in the right direction, but as stated above, a new coaster is needed.
  21. I know it has probably already been asked, but where is the Rainbow Slingshot going?
  22. It's really not the point that the ride is a Boomerang, or how long the park is open, the point is that Six Flags should think before disappointing people by saying wrond opening dates.
  23. I've heard of parking lot coasters before, but never swimming pool coasters. The least they could have did was make the swimming pool less visible.
  24. My opinion is that the Motocoaster was a terrible idea. It is meant to be a family coaster, but the height restriction is the same as most major coasters (48"). A Gerstlauer or Mack may have been a better idea.
  25. I think that they could either this year or next year. The building is so awkward with no sea lions in the pool out front, the picture being torn off by the wind, and the entrance looking so themed without being open.
