The only possible way I could see a "name change" is if the dive coaster wasn't supposed to become Valravn at all. Like the whole "bat" situation at Kings island, by that I mean, if they were going to repaint/retheme Raptor and have that become Valravn, the bird of slain, maybe then it would be a good idea to change the use of that name. Otherwise, there is no reason. I don't care if people think the name is stupid. I'm sure half the people on here could care less. But there is no reason at all for them to be hypersensitive about a coaster name that had nothing to do with a death in the park. And for future reference, its VALRAVN not valravyn- I hope that was a typo... -
^ With new trains comes some other TLC hopefully... I'm most excited for a new theming of the ride because then it will no longer be a 200 foot tall reminder of the old Six Flags days. I also find it interesting that Bizaro is becoming the Superman once again, and with that park being in this same general part of the U.S., I find the color/theme change of RoS to be almost, more fitting than it already was. I can't wait to see the ride shine again. I hate hearing people say how faded it looks in the queues but I hate it even more that they're right... I'm looking forward to the rumored new trains. Even if that's the only new thing. New trains comes with new hotness for the RoS hopefully. That would be enough to satisfy me! (Coming from the guy who is a yearly CP visiter who will be able to ride Valravn next year - I'm not too worried about Darien adding the "next big thing" just yet)

So yesterday Europa Park announced they would have the worlds first VR Coaster experience. They showed some sort of mine train ride - I'm not familiar with the park - and it appears that they are using the Oculus Rift headset. I went on the VR Coaster page, and I found that it isn't something required for you to ride the coaster, it is an add on. And you can either rent a headset from the park, or if you have one of your own you can bring it into the park and use it. I think it's interesting that they let you bring your own. I wonder if CP would do the same thing if they end up getting this VR experience implemented... -

Raptor, TTD, Millenium Force, Gatekeeper (both sides) Agree with this. Raptor's front seat line will only cost you like 5 minutes and it's the best by far. If you're one of those people that complains about B&M rattle then don't sit on the left side of the train. If you like to have fun then sit on the left side. lol Gatekeeper's front seat line won't cost you much time either. Millennium Force is great in every seat but you have to ride it once in the front both during the day and at night. The line will be huge but it's worth it. Dragster is the same way... even if the wait for the front is an hour, do it! You can ride Rougarou in the front but it's a better back seat ride. Also I should mention (again) Mean Streak because it's horrible in the other seats. Front seat, lean forward, back off the seat back if you don't want internal bleeding. Edit: sorry for the double post but Cedar Point posted what I think is an obvious diversion on their new event page... Image... Link... Coaster Appreciation Night I'm not buying this for a second. Please tell me when you say "I'm not buying this" you aren't meaning that you're on the "they're changing the name" side... -
Seniority has nothing to do with whether or not a ride or attraction stays or leave. If anything in the case of go-karts, it could possibly mean their demise. 20 year old go karts versus a new roller coaster. Think about it. Which one is going to attract more people? Ill tell you for sure, im not seeing people flock to Darien Lake for some "AWESOME go kart action" in fact, I'm not seeing people flock to Darien lake at all! It takes investments and tough decisions for parks that are so close to being major, such as Darien lake. If that means removing an aging attraction or two - conveniently right next to each other may I add, then so be it. Right now Darien Lake is the Radiator Springs of the first Cars movie. We have nothing to attract people outside of RoS, and with Leviathan and Millennium both within a few hours of Darien, there's almost no reason for people to go to the park at all! Not to mention they see locals and enthusiasts complain about operations and rough rides such as an SLC, a Boomerang and Predator. Which may not be rough for people who know how to ride them but are for the majority of the GP... In all honesty. If putting us on the map is at the expense of some go-karts, the so be it. And want to boost revenue from up charge attractions? Keep the "half off the other ride" deal with slingshot and redhawk, advertise it better, and then lower the price of the rides a little bit. More people will ride knowing of the deals and the price reduction - even if it's $5 off of the year before and boom, the go karts won't be all that missed - money wise.

^ Its also possible they could do more than one post a day for some of the smaller coasters. -

The park cancelled the announcement the first time to show respect to the man who died so announcing it on 9/11 wouldn't be the smartest thing to do. I agree. I highly doubt we will see an announcement on 9/11. That's why I mentioned the 12th. I do believe they would repeat what they did last time they completed the timeline and wait a couple days before they randomly announce a date. It would look bad if they made an announcement on the 11th, I agree. -

^ I didn't even think of it like that, it was such a subtle post I thought that it was just them doing what they do best and posting about their rides every now and again. But that would make sense with them saying #1 at the end (though I personally thought they were talking about the Sandusky Blue Streaks being number one). I guess if we see the Cedar Creek Mine Ride on their pages today then you may be right about them starting up the countdown again! If they do a coaster a day, including pipe scream since they already had it in the original timeline, they'd reach Rougarou on September 10th. Maybe with an announcement of an announcement on the 11th or 12th? Of course all speculation. -

Oh man why hasn't anyone thought of painting a coaster with that black light paint and illuminate the track with black lights. That would look ridiculous and completely awesome. Agreed. Two more for you. That would be absolutely awesome -

I'm on the "I like the colors" side of things here too. Maybe because orange and blue are two of my favorite colors... But it is kinda weird to me that the leaked logo doesn't at all match the coasters colors... Maybe they'll match the train more -

Wow, those are pretty stupid. Just as stupid as an entire ride layout being leaked from a countdown on a free VR app no one fully understood the purpose of just yet. Could you imagine? ...oh wait...
